mooseekd project is a partial fork of Museek+, containing only the standalone daemon needed to connect to the Soulseek P2P network. Naming has been changed so as not to clash with an existing Museek+/museekd installation.
The goal of the fork is to provide a means of having only the daemon installed, without the dependencies on libxml++/glibmm, leaving it with only GLib (using GMarkup instead of libxml++) as a major dependency.

Soulfind 0.4.8
Soulfind is a free Soulseek server program. more>>
Soulfind is a Soulseek server implementation for Linux, though it can probably be compiled under Mac OS X, BSD or Windows as well (if you have tried to build Soulfind under another OS than Linux, Id like to know if it worked, and what happens if it didnt). This homepage is there to provide some information about it.
Theres also a new #slsk-gpl room on Freenode (irc.freenode.net), Ill try to be there as often as possible (but 50H/month dial-up sucks).
Soulfind is coded using the D programming language and released under the GNU General Public License.
It originally started with me being bored on a sunday afternoon, and coding a basic chat-only Soulseek server... since it was easier than what I had expected, I decided to go on and implement the full protocol.
The name just comes from people ranting about how their searches on the official server do not return enough results... indeed its name is only Soulseek, while this one is Soulfind.
The server supports the Nicotine, Museek and PySoulSeek clients (actually, all clients except the official Windows one should work). The Windows client also works to some extent, but you have to trick it to make it connect to another server on another port, and it also checks for an md5sum in the server answer, which this server doesnt send.
Enhancements:
- This release compiles with DMD 0.155, and supports the new server-handled room and buddy searches.
- Several minor bugs have been fixed, as well as a more important one about privileges (giving some privileges to another user did not add to his existing privileges, but replaced them).

MLdonkey 2.9.0
MLdonkey is a file-sharing client for eDonkey, FastTrack, and Overnet, etc. more>>
MLdonkey is a multi-platform multi-networks peer-to-peer client. Originally, MLdonkey was the first open-source client to access the eDonkey network. The protocol was reverse-engeneered using an efficient protocol sniffer, Pandora .
Currently, with eDonkey , it supports several large networks, such as Overnet , Bittorrent , Gnutella (Bearshare, Limewire, etc), Gnutella2 (Shareaza), Fasttrack (Kazaa, Imesh, Grobster), Soulseek (beta), Direct-Connect (alpha), and Opennap (alpha). Networks can be enabled/disabled, searches are performed in parallel on all enabled networks, but each file is only downloaded from one network (wait for next release !), but from multiple clients concurrently.
MLdonkey runs as a daemon on the computer. It can be controlled using several interfaces: the simplest one is telnet (telnet 127.0.0.1 4000), a more interesting one is a WEB server (http://127.0.0.1:4080/), and a binary protocol allows access using more elaborate Graphical Interfaces (see the GUIs available on your system at the bottom of the page). MLdonkey comes by default with a GTK interface. All these interfaces can be used locally, or remotely (after disabling security restrictions).
MLdonkey is written in Objective-Caml , a powerful language that runs on most Operating Systems.
Enhancements:
- Ocaml 3.10.0 is now the default compiler
- do not compile unmaintained Gnutella/G2 by default
- non-EDK: Discover WAN IP
- Swarmer: Optional linear downloadBT: Improve UTF8 support
- BT: Support user_commit_dir when seeding
- BT: Fix country-based IP blocking

giFToxic 0.0.10
giFToxic provides a GTK 2-based client for giFT. more>>
giFToxic provides a GTK 2-based client for giFT.
At the moment it is under heavy development.
giFT stands for giFT: Internet File Transfer. It is a daemon that is intended to act as a bridge to combine the capability of using several (peer-to-peer or otherwise) file sharing protocols for a simple GUI client.
It uses the plugin paradigm to dynamically load different protocols for a client as and when required. The currently supported networks include:
Stable
OpenFT, giFTs own file sharing network
Gnutella1 (used by BearShare, LimeWire, ...)
Ares Galaxy
Turtle F2F
Beta
FastTrack (used by Kazaa)
Alpha
OpenNap
eDonkey
Soulseek
A lightweight protocol is used by clients to communicate with the giFT process, allowing the protocol code to be completely abstracted from the user interface.
Search nodes handle search requests. They search the filelists their CHILD (common) nodes submitted to them. These nodes must have a capable Internet connection and at least 128M RAM. A modern processor is highly recommended as well.
INDEX nodes keep lists of available search nodes, collect statistics, and try to maintain the structure of the network.
Enhancements:
- fixed escaping
- dont start a source search when a transfer is started
- recycle upload slots
- fixed daemon autostart mode
- Languages added: hr, ms, fr, cs, az, sk, pt, sr, sv
