The Software Packager module is designed to provide a common interface for packaging software on any platform. This module does not do the packaging of the software but is merely a wraper around the various software packaging tools already provided with various operating systems.

This module provides the base API and sets default values common to the various software packaging methods.

This module creates packages for AIX 4.1 and higher only. Due to the compatability requirements of Software::Packager multiple components in the same package are not supported. This may be changed at some point in the future.

This module is in part a baised on the workings of the lppbuild scripts. Where possible Ive worked from the standards, where I had no idea what they were talking about I refered to the lppbuild scripts for an understanding.

As such Id like to thank the writers of lppbuild version 2.1. I believe these scripts to be written by Jim Abbey. Who ever it was thanks for your work. It has proven envaluable. lppbuild is available from http://aixpdslib.seas.ucla.edu/

This module is used to create software packages in a format suitable for installation with pkgadd.

FUNCTIONS

new()

This method creates and returns a new Software::Packager::SVR4 object.

add_item()

$packager->add_item(%object_data);

Adds a new object (file, link, etc) to the package.

package()

$packager->package();

Create the package.

info

This method returns a hash that is filled with the necessary information for a pkginfo file that conforms to the SYSV format.

package_name()

Define the package name.

program_name()

This is used to specify the full package name.

The program name must be less that 256 charaters.

For more details see the pkginfo(4) man page.

architecture()

The architecture must be a comma seperated list of alphanumeric tokens that indicate the architecture associated with the package.

The maximum length of a token is 16 charaters.

A token should be in the format "instruction set"."platform group" where:

instruction set is in the format of `uname -p`

platform group is in the format of `uname -m`

If the architecture is not set then the current instruction set is used.

For more details see the pkginfo(4) man page.

version()

This method is used to check the format of the version and return it in the format required for SVR4.

The version must be 256 charaters or less.

The first charater cannot be a left parenthesis.

The recommended format is an arbitrary string of numbers in Dewey-decimal format. For more datails see the pkginfo(4) man page.

OpenPCD is a free and open RFID reader reference design platform. The OpenPCD firmware is software that runs in OpenPCDs AT91SAM7 ARM controller, and connects the RFID reader hardware (CL RC632 ASIC) with the Host PC via USB. The Firmware includes a custom USB device stack and drivers for the various embedded AT91SAM7 components. The firmware itself does not run on Linux, but it only works with a Linux host PC talking to it.
OpenPCD is a free hardware design for Proximity Coupling Devices (PCD) based on 13,56MHz communication. This device is able to screen informations from Proximity Integrated Circuit Cards (PICC) conforming to vendor-independent standards such as ISO 14443, ISO 15693 as well as proprietary protocols such as Mifare Classic. Contactless cards like these are for example used in the new electronic passports.
The intention of the OpenPCD project is to offer the users full hardware control of the RFID signal and to provide different output signals for screening the communication. With already existing Free Software from the OpenMRTD project for implementing the PCD side protocol stack of various RFID protocols, this project will happily extend the free toolchain around RFID verification.
Enhancements:
- This is the initial version of the firmware.
- It supports basic RFID reader functionality for the ISO14443A.

Open RObot COntrol Software (Orocos) framework applies software patterns in C++ to achieve real-time execution of software components and provides an infrastructure to quickly integrate them in a real-time operating system such as RTAI or RTLinux, although it can be tested on normal Linux systems.
The Orocos project started as a Free Software project for robotics, but it has outgrown its robotics-dependent roots. Hence, "Orocos" now consists of two decoupled but integrated sub-projects:
Open Realtime Control Services.
This is a hard realtime Software Framework for all possible machine control applications, fully independent of the projects original robotics focus. It is designed to run safely parallel user defined tasks, on both vanilla Linux 2.6 and hard realtime RTAI. Extensive graphical configuration support is available.
Available features: hardware abstraction, operating system abstraction, event handling, hierarchical and parallel state machines, realtime "PLC" scripting, command parsing, online property configuration, multiple time- and event-triggered threads, advanced data protection for synchronous/asynchronous data flow, strongly typed data flow, (on-line) configuration support, ...
Integration between RTAI and TAO and ACE is also part of the ongoing work towards a hard realtime distributed control infastructure based on CORBA.
Open Robot Control Software.
A set of class libraries and an application framework offering generic functionality for machine tools and robots: cascaded control loops and control components, motion generation and interpolation; kinematics and dynamics; robot-specific control algorithms; estimation and identification; etc.
The following families of applications have working implementations available: force-controlled 6R manipulator arm and Cartesian XYZ machine tools. We would welcome developers to start mobile robot and humanoid robot application(s). In those efforts, much of the material of the above-mentioned applications can be reused. In addition, detailed support is available through the Developers mailing list. So, each new application requires moderate programming effort. (Not taking into account system-dependent modules such as device drivers, or kinematic routines.)

Gspeakfreely is a VoIP system with a flexible component system. It implements a set of audio processing components which can be connected to each other or mixed together. The most important components are net in/output, which implement VoIP functionality and the OSS-DSP in/output component. Additionally there is a ISDN in/output component that allows making actual phone connections, and a file input component that can also play Internet radio streams. Also included is a fading plug-in, that can for example fade incoming calls into your music. New components can be developed for specific purposes, and combined with existing ones.
The net in/output components also have conference support bult-in. The net input component can mix incoming audio data from different hosts.
If you want to use all the components, you have to use linux. But you can use it on some PDAs (with linux installed), too. The arm-linux binary can be used e.g. on an Compaq Ipaq.
You can use parts of gspeakfreely also on other unixes. On Solaris you have only the file_input, net_input, net_output, and monitor_output components.

Syntax: ArmTransactionInfo transaction_info
This is an informational string used to descibe the transaction, primarily for use by transaction correlators. If not specifed, the default value is "Apache web page".
