Slimserver Control is a Amarok script that can control your Slimserver (play/stop) from Amarok.
Usage:
Run the script. On first run, it will ask for the Slimserver IP address, port and the Squeezebox MAC address. If in doubt for the answers, browse to your Slimserver home page, then, while playing a song, move your mouse over the "Play" button. You should see in the status bar of your browser a URL similar to this one:
http://localhost:9000/status_header.html?p0=play&player=00%3A04%3A20%3A06%3A9c%3Aaa
In this example:
Slimserver IP adddress = localhost
Slimserver port = 9000
Squeezebox MAC address = 00%3A04%3A20%3A06%3A9c%3Aaa

Driver On Demand alpha1
Driver On Demand it installs and downloads drivers automatically in Linux. more>>
Driver on demand is an attempt to ease driver installations in linux. Basically, what happens is that a user plugs any device into the computer, and if a driver isnt found, the client connects to a CGI server, to check if the device is known, and if its not in the database, then the driver lookup fails and the user is no worse off then they currently are.
However, if the device is found online, the driver information file (similar to .infs, just XML and more versatile) is analysed. If its built into newer versions of kernels, but theres a driver available, the driver is installed, but the system recommends strongly that the user upgrades their kernel, automatically, otherwise it just installs.
If the vendor chooses to, they can create their own driverinstall files, put it on their site, and put a reference on the Driver On Demand server, so the user will always have the newest files.. As opposed to having to wait for the admin to update their definitions.
To people who dont care about the specifics, all they need to care about is that if a device on their system needs a driver, this will find it on the internet, and install it for them automatically.
Main features:
- Uses HTTP/plaintext, so proxy compatible
- Allows the use of always up to date file.driverinstall files users can just click to install their latest hardware
- Takes the hassle of installing drivers away from the users
- XML based driver definitions, so extremely extendable, and is written in perl, so easy to edit and handle
- System handles licenses, allowing users to add them or remove licenses of drivers (promotes GPL drivers too, because that licence is accepted by default)
- Open source, GPL.. Which means u dont need to worry about licensing..
- Allows one click install of drivers (the first linux driver listing standard)
- Promotes Open source

Metacity 2.16.8
Metacity is a lightweight window manager written by Havoc Pennington from Red Hat. more>>
Metacity is a lightweight window manager written by Havoc Pennington from Red Hat. The first version was 2.3, which was released in 2001. Metacity is implemented with the GTK+ 2.x toolkit, and so integrates well with the GNOME 2.x platform.
In fact the intention is to remove the traditional separation between window manager and desktop, and present to the user a single desktop interface.
This means that the limited configuration options available for Metacity are shown as desktop options, not as Metacity options (although there is an optional "Metacity-setup" panel which conflicts with this approach).
Enhancements:
- This release is being made to fix a bug breaking some QT apps. Thanks to Bradley Hughes from Trolltech for a good testcase (and a lot of patience).
- send synthetic configure notify events in response to appropriate MapRequest events too (Elijah) [#322840]
Translators
- Ihar Hrachyshka (be@latin), Ignacio Casal Quinteiro (gl), Marek Stepien (pl)

Linux on a Stick 0.3
Linux on a stick is an attempt to make a Live-CD/USB-Flash server Linux distro. more>>
Linux on a Stick is an attempt to make a Live-CD/USB-Flash server Linux distro. At its heart is a very small and simple Linux distro that boots off CD/Flash and runs from RAM (Ie no spinning hard drives of death).
This approach allows us to strip the OS to its very basic components, which minimizes the amount of resources required. This distro is targeted towards Server administrator who are familiar with Linux, its only configuration method is the command line.
Enhancements:
- Linux kernel 2.4.33 was replaced with 2.6.18.8.
- A USB booting problem that would prevent it from booting on some BIOSs (Namely AMI) was resolved.
- The ARDIS iSCSI target was replaced with the Enterprise iSCSI target (v0.4.14).
- The Open iSCSI initiator (v2.0.754) package with kernel modules is included.
- The distribution now boots on more than just Intel CPUs.
- Userland tools (v3.6.19) and kernel FS support were included for ReiserFS and XFS.
- The PHP CLI is included in php-5.2.0 in root.gz initrd.

libbonobo 2.16.0
libbonobo is the non-GUI part of the bonobo component infrastructure. more>>
libbonobo is the non-GUI part of the bonobo component infrastructure, it is most useful for creating aggregate interfaces & doing IPC easily.
libbonobo also contains a rather badly designed & implemented per-system activation system. This needs re-writing & simplifying to be per-display.
Take a look at samples/echo/.
What is Bonobo
Bonobo is a set of language and system independant CORBA interfaces for creating reusable components, controls and creating compound documents.
The Bonobo distribution includes a Gtk+ based implementation of the Bonobo interfaces, enabling developers to create reusable components and applications that can be used to form more complex documents.
If you want to look into a Java implementation of Bonobo, look in the GNOME CVS for the `monkeybeans module (Erdi Gergo is the author), you can browse it at: http://cvs.gnome.org/bonsai

Ruby on Rails SubList Plugin 0.1
Ruby on Rails SubList Plugin makes it easy to have dynamic lists of related models on a single editing page. more>>
Ruby on Rails SubList Plugin makes it easy to have dynamic lists of related models on a single editing page.
The plugin is designed for models with one or more has_many relationship with other models.
By using AJAX for adding and removing "sub-forms" one can present the user with a single edit page that creates/edits the parent model as well as all of the children.
Usage:
Place the sub_list directory in the vendor/plugins dir of your application.
In the controller which you wish to have a sub list displayed, add the following lines:
include UIEnhancements::SubList
helper :SubList
sub_list SubModel, parent do |new_research_student|
#Place any construction (ie. defaults) required here
end
Replace SubModel with the class name of the sub model you wish to make available.
Replace parent with the parent object.
For instance, if you wish to have a Person controller that has a sub list of Dogs for each person, the sub model would be Dog and the parent would be person. It is expected that @person would exist and that it contains a has_many relationship named dogs.

SlimScrobbler 0.37.5
SlimScrobbler is an slimserver plugin that builds a profile of your musical tastes. more>>
SlimScrobbler project will submit music files that you listen to on your Squeezebox to Last.FM, where it will show up on your recently-played list and count towards your listening statistics.
If you want to listen to Last.FM internet radio through your Squeezebox, then you also need James Craigs Last.FM plugin - and very good it is too.
Once upon a time there were two websites, one called Audioscrobbler, and one called Last.FM. Audioscrobbler tracked what you listened to on your PC; Last.FM provided personalised streaming radio.
In 2005 they merged completely and dropped the "Audioscrobbler" name. Thats why all the plugins for Last.FM tend to be called Scrobblers.
Enhancements:
- Changed tag submission format again!
