dvd-slideshow makes a DVD-compatible slideshow video with menus from a batch of pictures.
dvd-slideshow project consists of a set of scripts: dvd-slideshow reads a text file list of all the pictures you want in one slideshow and creates a DVD-compatible MPEG movie with your audio tracks and specified timing.
It supports effects such as fades, crops, and the Ken Burns effect. dvd-menu makes a top-level DVD menu with the output files from dvd-slideshow. dir2slideshow makes a dvd-slideshow input file from a directory of pictures.
gallery2slideshow makes the input file from your Gallery album. jigl2slideshow makes the input file from your jigl album. The output is fed through dvdauthor to create DVDs.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes a few major bugs with newer versions of ImageMagick (6.2.2 and higher) that showed up primarily when using the KenBurns effect.
- There are other bugfixes and improvements that should make this more compatible with the wide variety of Linux systems out there.
- Note that the title keyword has changed, so if you re-run your old slideshows, "title" will have to be changed to "titlebar" for the same behavior.
- The title keyword just displays the text in the middle of the screen.

SuperShow is a project which allows you to create, from a PDF file and an audio/video file, slideshows with syncronized audio.

Imagine this scenario: you do a conference, with a set of slides created with Impress, PowerPoint or other tool. Someone (maybe you) recorded it as only audio, to make it available in the net. Unfortunately it lacks the slides, so people who download the audio will have to get them separately and try to imagine when to change to the next picture.

With a video recording theres the problem that, usually, the slides are quite unreadable, unless high bitrates are used and the camera set near the screen.

Here is where SuperShow comes. With it you can take your slides (exported to PDF) and your audio/video recording, and mix them in a single, small size, Adobe Flash file, which can be played from the net or downloaded to be seen locally. SuperShow allows you to easily sincronize the audio and the slide transitions and insulates you from the complexity of creating Flash files from Linux with SWFtools (ok, its not so complex, but requires you to use the keyboard :) .

Freejtv Photo Album & Ajax Slideshow Template is a cross-browser/platform HTML template page for slideshows and Web photo albums/galleries or jukeboxes. The project supports more than 30 DirectX transitions in the IE browser and fade in/out effects in Firefox or Safari.
Other features include full screen mode, background music, and pause/resume. Configuration is easy, and does not require changing the code. After thumbnailing and tailoring your photos, you can edit a standalone jtv.xml configuration file.
Main features:
- XML configuration. You do not need any heavy weight GUI applications to make music photo presentation. A text editor such as vi can do all the work. Editing a music photo presentation in an xml file now is as easy as editing a standard html file.

View Picture project is an SDL-based image viewer for Linux and FreeBSD that supports slideshows, fullscreen, zoom, and arbitrary movement through the image list.

Pod::S5 is a perl program which parses a POD input file and generates a ready to use HTML slideshow. The slideshow generated uses S5 by Eric Meyer as presentation engine. This project is a fabulous system using XHTML, CSS and Javascript.

Please note, Pod::S5 supports syntax highlighting of various languages using the perl Module Syntax::Highlight::Engine::Kate if its installed.

Ryan King came up with a new site devoted to development of S5 s5project, which aims to continue development of S5. The latest version of this site will be part of the next Pod::S5 version.

POD is an easy to learn structured markup language aimed to write documentation for Perl modules. Internal Link PodWiki uses this language as its markup and therefore I wanted to use it for HTML slideshows as well.

DVD-Baker project is a small suite of programmes designed that can turn your image collection into a DVD.
Your image collection can be stored in a web gallery such as Menalto Gallery G2.
Formerly known as gallery2-to-dvd, DVD-Baker has evolved from a brute-force (hack) bash script to a php/bash combination that allows you to bake your DVD on a computer other than your webserver.

How DVD-Baker works
Its as simple as RECIPE => BAKE => BURN !!!
1. Prepare the recipe:
For Menalto Gallery G2:
g2-dvd-recipe.php needs to be placed in the base directory of your G2 site.
2. Baking the ingredients:
Running dvd-baker will produce all the slideshows and menus as specified by the recipe.
A file called dvdauthor.xml will be produced describing all those menus and slideshows, and how they work together.
3. Burning the DVD:
If you didnt specify the -d option for dvd-baker, then:
$ dvdauthor -x dvdauthor.xml
To burn the dvd, use your preferred burning application to create a DVD-Video from the resultant ./DVD directory.
Enhancements:
- A few important features have been added.
- The most requested may be the ability to specify the gallery album to bake (rather than the users root album), and the ability to specify an album to use to create a DVD leader (a title played before the root menu is shown).
- Also included is an optional Options Menu System, which can be accessed by pressing the SUBTITLE button (or F3 in gxine) to toggle options such as SUBTITLES, AUTOPLAY, and REPEAT during playback.
- Minor cleanups and bugfixes are included.

PornView project is an image and movie manager and viewer with thumbnail previews.
Additional features includes thumbnail caching, directory tree views, adjustable zoom, and fullscreen view.
Slideshows allow for unattended presentation of images for hands-free viewing. Pornview is written using GTK+.

CPOINt is a new way to create slideshows that can be viewed on many different operating systems. Most slideshow creating programs (not mentioning any names) are designed to only work with the operating system that they were created on. Some effort has been made to remedy this, but there are no fully cross platform solutions.
One of CPOINts purposes is to create a new type of slideshow that can be viewed on older computers and newer. The software is split into three projects: A light viewer, which can run on older machines such as pentiums and 486s. A "heavy" viewer for the newest computers, with all the animations and special effects you could need. And finally, a GTK based WYSIWYG editor.
Enhancements:
- Button and font support was fixed, and an autotools-based package and a Debian Etch package have been created.
- Support for default fonts was added, a bug was fixed in the CString library, and the rest of the source code has been added to the archive.
