SINGULAR 3.0.2
SINGULAR is a computer algebra system for polynomial computations. more>>
SINGULAR is a computer algebra system for polynomial computations in commutative algebra, algebraic geometry, and singularity theory.
Its main computational objects are ideals and modules over a large variety of baserings. The baserings are polynomial rings over a field (eg. finite fields, the rationals, floats, algebraic extensions, transcendental extensions), or localizations thereof, or quotient rings with respect to an ideal.
It features fast and general implementations for computing Groebner and standard bases, including Buchbergers algorithm and Moras Tangent Cone algorithm. Its interactive shell and C-like programming language can be extended by libraries written in the SINGULAR programming language.
Main features:
- Main computational objects: ideals/modules over very general polynomial rings over various ground fields.
- Large variety of algorithms implemented in kernel (written in C/C++).
- Many more algorithms implemented as SINGULAR libraries.
- Intuitive, C-like programming language.
- Extensive documentation: Manual (info, ps, and html), Publications.
- Available for most hard- and software platforms: Unix (HP-UX, SunOS, Solaris, Linux, AIX), Windows, Macintosh.
Enhancements:
- This version is mainly a bugfix release, but it also contains some new features.
- Speed was improved for 64-bit architectures.
- The dmod.lib and perron.lib libraries were added.
- center.lib was improved. ncalg.lib was revised.
- New algorithms were added in primdec.lib.
- An improved version of slimgb was incorporated into groebner.
- The module generator (modgen) was improved.
- The build process was improved to build automatically without patches on 64-bit architectures.

gPlanarity is a simple puzzle game involving untangling planar graphs for fun and prizes. more>>
gPlanarity is a simple puzzle game involving untangling planar graphs for fun and prizes. If you tend to get addicted to cute little math puzzles than gPlanarity is a doozy.
gPlanarity is a super-clone of the flash Planarity game written by John Tantalo. The original Planarity ran well in IE and Firefox on other platforms, but was slow and liked to lock up or abort under Linux browsers.
gPlanarity implements gameplay identical to the original Planarity but adds some UI and game extras around the basic game such as multiple board generation algorithms, puzzle boards, complete backing state, group select/drag and so on.
Main features:
- Expand/shrink
- Group select and drag
- Board reset
- Level selection
- Complete backing state
- Leave and come back to any number of boards at any time
- Multiple level generation algorithms
- Puzzles with differing win conditions
- Hide/show lines
- Intersection highlighting
- Undeniable big noodly crunch!

Labyrinth of Worlds 0.4
Labyrinth of Worlds project is an Ultima Underworld II rewrite. more>>
Labyrinth of Worlds project is an Ultima Underworld II rewrite.
LoW is a rewrite of the first-person role-playing game Ultima Underworld II: Labyrinth of Worlds that came out in the early 1990s. One of the most celebrated game of its genre, this rewrite attempts to recapture the minutiae and spirit of the original.
At the moment, the tech demo allows you to walk (and jump) around all the Underworld II levels and worlds, has all NPCs and most monsters. You also get to see and manipulate all the dynamic objects of the game, and peek inside containers. The paperdoll has been implemented, too, and lets you access your inventory as well as wear/wield armor and weapons.
It is now possible to converse with the various NPCs. While not all the conversations work correctly (or at all) most do for the most part and it is now possible to actually understand the storyline. :) NPCs are also able to give items, now.
Another worthy project you might want to go take a look at is Underworld Adventures which seeks to recreate the first installement of that series and is doing a darn good job of it.
If you are an Ultima VII fan, then Exult is going to tickle you pink! The freshly released version 1.0 will allow you to play Black Gate and Serpent Isle with the addons on modern architectures, with a few gameplay improvements to boot!
Enhancements:
- Fixed executables
- new gameplay features, including wearable items
- improved user interface
- performance improvements
- more complete conversation support (including being given items),
- working keys and locks

Globulation 2 0.8.23
Globulation 2 is a Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game which reduces micro-management by automatically assigning tasks to units. more>>
Globulation 2 is a Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game which reduces micro-management by automatically assigning tasks to units.
The player chooses the number of units to assign to various tasks, and the units do their best to satisfy the requests. This allows the user to manage more units and focus on strategy rather than individual units jobs.
It can be played by a single player, through your Local Area Network [LAN], or over the Internet thanks to Ysagoon Online Gaming (pronounced yog as in yoghurt) - a meta-server allowing transparent interaction between players and the IRC chatters on #glob2 (irc.freenode.net).
Globulation 2 features AI allowing single-player games or any possible combination of human-computer teams. Also included is a scripting language for versatile gameplay or tutorials and an integrated map editor.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes some bugs that crashed the game, and made it hard to play.
- It will hopefully be the last release before a major rewrite takes place.

Minas provides a Java application which simulates bridge construction.
Minas is a bridge simulation program. The name is actually Sindarin for "tower". Thats because the codebase originally came from a program that evolutionary creates towers and builds them higher and higher. After the towers were high enough, i took the code and made this game from it.
The gameplay, usage and rules is explained there. Please make use of the feature to send snapshots to the server.
minas.jar:
This file contains the source code and the compiled class files of minas. I apologize for the lack of documentation, but (as often) this project was only an experiment at the beginning, so i never started to document it.
You need a Java compiler to build it, and the Java Runtime Environment to run it.

PonGL 1.20
PonGL is a remake of Pong with 3D design and oldstyle 2D gameplay. more>>
PonGL is a remake of Pong with 3D design and oldstyle 2D gameplay.
PonGL is a small game based on mythical Pong. It has however a lot of graphical and gameplay improvements.
The aim is to throw the ball behind the adverse paddle to get the advantage. Once you get it, the level rotates and your paddle moves to the front of the camera to make life harder for the other player.
The original style is preserved: black & white, 2 dimensions gameplay, simplistic design. However, the concept is improved a little thanks to the use of 3D. (see the screenshots for a more precise idea).
There are actually three modes: single player against a wall, single player against 5 AI difficulties, 2 players on the same keyboard.
This game is available in English and in French (select your language by clicking on the small flag in the main menu), works on both Linux and Windows and is under GNU/GPL license.
