Sepp 0.6
Sepp is a version of the classic sliding puzzle game in which the properly ordered tiles form a picture. more>>
Sepp is a version of the classic sliding puzzle game in which the properly ordered tiles form a picture.
Sepp, the Sliding Evil-Piece Puzzle, implements a computer version of the classic moving puzzle game, which has 15 sliding tiles in a 4-by-4 matrix and is also known as the 15 puzzle, in which the properly ordered tiles would form a picture.
Variants like Loyds would be unsuitable for this version of the game because a picture in which two contiguous tiles were swapped (and which, therefore, could not be recomposed) might annoy users and likely be perceived as a bug in the program; therefore, Sepp does not perform arbitrary tile swapping when scrambling the tiles, and the original image can always be obtained given enough tile pushes.
On the other hand, Sepp implements its own innovative kind of player aggravation: based on a user-configurable degree of evil, ranging from Not at all evil to beyond Very Evil, Sepp decides, during each animation frame, whether it will disturb a tile while the game is in progress. For better or worse, this feature, which can be disabled by setting the evilness to Not at all evil, sets Sepp apart from other, similar games.
Main features:
- Sepp allows the player to select the tile that will be used as the empty slot by simply clicking on it before scrambling the tiles; this setting is remembered by Sepp for as long as the players session stays in the puzzle in which the tile was chosen, and is dismissed when the user chooses a different picture or different grid geometry.
- Sepp keeps track of time spent by the player in solving the puzzle, but displays it only if and when the puzzle is solved; in this regard, Sepp implements the same behavior as the casual game Frozen Bubble and avoids distracting and terrorizing the user during gameplay.
- The terror that Sepp does cause its players comes in four levels, and can be set using an options menu that is available with a single click immediately after startup; in consideration of the elderly, the children, and small household appliances, "evilness" is disabled by default.
- The Sepp player can enjoy endless hours the aggravation using the input device of his choice, whether it be the keyboard or the mouse: except for empty slot selection, all operations can be performed with either; additionally, Sepp does not require dragging of the tiles but instead supports single-click action.

Nuface 1.2.4
Nuface is a Web-based administration tool that generates Edenwall, NuFW, or simple Netfilter firewall rules. more>>
Nuface is a Web-based administration tool that generates Edenwall, NuFW, or simple Netfilter firewall rules.
Nuface project features a high level abstraction on the security policy set by the administrator, and works internally on an XML data scheme.
Its philosophy is to let you agglomerate subjects, resources, or protocols into meta-objects, and use those meta objects to generate ACLs, which are then interpreted as netfilter rules by Nupyf, the internal XML parser.
This tool may easily be extended to support firewall implementations other than Netfilter.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes a bug that would scramble destination NAT rules when deleting any other NAT rule.
- It adds an HTML href to linked objects so they can be directly edited.

GD::SecurityImage 1.61
GD::SecurityImage is a security image (captcha) generator. more>>
GD::SecurityImage is a security image (captcha) generator.
SYNOPSIS
use GD::SecurityImage;
# Create a normal image
my $image = GD::SecurityImage->new(width => 80,
height => 30,
lines => 10,
gd_font => giant);
$image->random($your_random_str);
$image->create(normal => rect);
my($image_data, $mime_type, $random_number) = $image->out;
or
# use external ttf font
my $image = GD::SecurityImage->new(width => 100,
height => 40,

font => "/absolute/path/to/your.ttf",
scramble => 1);
$image->random($your_random_str);
$image->create(ttf => default);
$image->particle;
my($image_data, $mime_type, $random_number) = $image->out;
or you can just say (most of the public methods can be chained)
my($image, $type, $rnd) = GD::SecurityImage->new->random->create->particle->out;
to create a security image with the default settings. But that may not be useful. If you require the module, you must import it:
require GD::SecurityImage;
GD::SecurityImage->import;
The module also supports Image::Magick, but the default interface uses the GD module. To enable Image::Magick support, you must call the module with the use_magick option:
use GD::SecurityImage use_magick => 1;
If you require the module, you must import it:
require GD::SecurityImage;
GD::SecurityImage->import(use_magick => 1);
The module does not export anything actually. But import loads the necessary sub modules. If you don t import, the required modules will not be loaded and probably, youll die().
The (so called) "Security Images" are so popular. Most internet software use these in their registration screens to block robot programs (which may register tons of fake member accounts). Security images are basicaly, graphical CAPTCHAs (Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart). This module gives you a basic interface to create such an image. The final output is the actual graphic data, the mime type of the graphic and the created random string. The module also has some "styles" that are used to create the background (or foreground) of the image.
If you are an Authen::Captcha user, see GD::SecurityImage::AC for migration from Authen::Captcha to GD::SecurityImage.
This module is just an image generator. Not a captcha handler. The validation of the generated graphic is left to your programming taste.

Druid 3.8
Druid is a tool to create DB tables and to generate both SQL scripts and documentation. more>>
Druid project is a tool that allows users to create databases in a graphical way. The user can add tables, fields, folders to group tables and can modify most of the database options that follow the SQL-92 standard.
In addition to sql options, the user can document each table and each field with HTML information. Once the database is created, the druid can generate:
- HTML documentation: for all tables, with browsing facilities
- PDF documentation: for all tables
- Java classes: (one class for each table) that contain tables constants (such as fields size) plus java code added by the user
- A data dictionarythat contains all tables and fields present in the database
- SQL script which contains all table definitions that can be piped to the DBMS
- And much more info...
Main features:
- Graphical editing
- Tables groupable in a hierarchy
- Extended generation capabilities including HTML documentation, Data Dictionary, SQL script, Java classes
- Custom datatypes for the database that are mapped into real DBMS datatypes
- Revision history and automatic build increment
- Custom java code for each table
- Table summary
- Table editing facility
- Automatic table localization for multi-language applications
- Cut & Paste
Enhancements:
- The Oracle and Postgres SQL generation modules were improved.
- The passwords in the configuration file were scrambled.
- A NoClassDefFoundError was fixed in the OJB module.
- A problem with CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER was fixed.

libpuz 0.1
libpuz is a C library implementing the .PUZ crossword file format. more>>
libpuz is a C library implementing the .PUZ crossword file format.
PUZ is a file format commonly used by commercial software for crossword puzzles. There is, to my knowledge, no other documentation of the format available online.
This page (and the implementation) is the result of a few weeks reverse engineering work, based in part on work started by Evan Martin.
As it currently stands, the documentation is far from complete. However, it is complete enough to read and write basic crossword puzzles in the format, such that you may interoperate with the common crossword applications.
I have no real financial interest in this, it was just a fun hack and allows me to produce crossword puzzles for friends to play.
Enhancements:
- This initial release is the result of many hours of reverse engineering to get the tricky parts of the file down.
- All core features are present, but some optional features (scrambled clues, user notes, etc) still need to be pulled apart and implemented.

Brutus 0.9.33
Brutus is an Exchange connector and development framework. more>>
Brutus is an Exchange connector and development framework that offers access to all of MAPI and therefore to all versions of Microsoft Exchange from version 5.5 onwards.
Brutus project is a complete wrapping of all of MAPI into a (large) set of CORBA interfaces. It enables any groupware client to integrate seamlessly into any organization with large Exchange deployments on an equal footing with MS Outlook.
Being based on CORBA, it is platform independent, and works equally well on Linux, the BSDs, Windows, or wherever there is a CORBA implementation available.
Enhancements:
- Logging of failure cases was generally improved.
- SSLIOP support has been removed.
- SSLIOP is no longer needed as Lorica will add CORBA firewall support as well as an SSLIOP tunnel between Brutus Server and any client application.
- MAPI object property scrambling was added.
- This is a new feature that makes it possible for an administrator to content scramble specific users.

Jooky 0.99h
Jooky is an mp3 controller. more>>
Jooky is an mp3 controller. I wrote it so that I can do any of:
Run it in the foreground in a curses screen.
Run it in the background and control it using itself as a client via tcp/ip from another host or the same host.
Run it from /etc/inittab and control it as above.
It also can play in random order (scramble).
The reason for the client/server is that I can now control it with LIRC. (Linux infrared control)
To run the command line based server, simply run jooky with no options in a terminal. Youll get an ncurses based screen interface to play with. The legend at the bottom will show you how to use it. It takes all of a minute to learn how to use it. If you know vi, then its even simpler. Any files that cant be played because there is no player for them, will be dimmer
than the others. Up and Down arrows are the same as j and k. Right and Left arrows adjust volume. Pgup and Pgdn take you up and down half a screen, as do capital J and capital K.
NEW! as of 0.96. "m" changes the Mixer knob, and right and left arrow adjust the current knob. Give it a try. aumix and read/write permission to /dev/mixer are required.
