SCM is a Firefox extension that performs Site Continuity Management validations on websites to help prevent Pharming attacks.

Pharming attacks are an advanced form of Phishing where an adversary poisons the data held in the user’s DNS server. SCM is believed to be the first add-on to protect users from this advanced attack.

SCM was developed at Cambridge University by Simon A. Spacey and is currently in a POC development release. For technical information about SCM you can read the release paper at:

http://www.priv8.co.uk/addons/SCM

SCM is free for noncommercial use and licensed under the PRIV8 OPEN SOFTWARE LICENSE.

Scmbug 0.19.18

Scmbug 0.19.18

Scmbug is a system integrating software configuration management (SCM) with bug-tracking. more>>
Scmbug is a system that integrates software configuration management (SCM) with bug-tracking.
It aims to be a universal tool that will glue any source code version control system (such as CVS, Subversion, and Arch) with any bug-tracking system (such as Bugzilla and Mantis).
Those who do not use a software configuration management (SCM) system do not maintain a history of modifications performed to their software. When bugs creep in their software, they do not have adequate information on how changes to source code came about.
Scmbug is a FREE software for bug-tracking and configuration management also know as SCM.
SCM systems, or even simple source code version control systems, make sure that a record of all changes and enhancements to the software is maintained. They provide a method of creating, storing, and labeling software changes.
Those who do not use a bug-tracking system tend to rely on shared lists, email, spreadsheets and/or Post-It notes to monitor the status of defects. This procedure is usually error-prone and tends to cause those bugs judged least significant by developers to be dropped or ignored.
Integrated defect-tracking systems make sure that nothing gets swept under the carpet; they provide a method of creating, storing, arranging and processing defect reports and enhancement requests.
Main features:
- Provide synchronous verification checks of SCM actions against the bug-tracking system.
- Provide a flexible architecture that can be deployed across the public Internet with reasonable security. Permit integrating repositories hosted by multiple SCM systems in separate networks, against a single, publicly accessible bug-tracking system, for use with multiple mobile developers.
- Define an SCM to bug-tracking integration interface and mechanism that will permit integration of any SCM system with any bug-tracking system.
- Encourage developers of other SCM to bug-tracking integration efforts to solve the integration problem once and for all.
- Integrate most popular free SCM or source code version control systems, such as CVS, Subversion, and Arch.
- Integrate most popular free bug-tracking systems, such as Bugzilla and Mantis.
Enhancements:
- This release introduces partial Git support, improves the Test Director backend, and splits the daemon logic into separate objects that can be reused by third-party software.

Smart Sign 0.0.1

Smart Sign 0.0.1

This project currently provides a set of modules that enable the use of smartcard based authentication. more>>
This project provides software suitable for smartcard based digital signature and both local and remote authentication security services. It can also be used to integrate smart card technology into a working Certification Authority that issues public key certificates for the users through the web.

For example, we provide a module that is known to work with the OpenCA Certification Authority for on-board keypair generation.

Our software works with different kinds of smart cards. Actually we have modules that work with Schlumberger Cyberflex Access 16K and Cryptoflex 16K smart cards and any Java Card 2.1.1 compliant smart card (i.e. both Schlumberger Cyberflex Access 32K and Gemplus GemXpresso 211/PK).

Our software has been developed and tested with Towitokos CHIPDRIVE and Schlumbergers Reflex 72 card readers. It is known to work fine with Gemplus GCR410, GCR400FD, GemPC and Microsystems SCM readers too.

Here are some of its functionalities:

automatic storing of private key and public certificate on the smartcard during the interaction with OpenCA for the "certification process"
use of smartcard to sign e-mail and e-news from within Netscape Messenger
use of smartcard to sign/verify every kind of file with a simple shell command
smartcard-based authentication of local users to a system by means of a public key authentication protocol
smartcard-based authentication of remote users to a system by means of a smart card enabled OpenSSH
interactive command line browsing and invoking of all supported card commands for Cyberflex cards (ISO 7816 compliant and not)

CVS 1.11.22

CVS 1.11.22

CVS is a version control system, an important component of Source Configuration Management (SCM). more>>
CVS is a version control system, an important component of Source Configuration Management (SCM). Using it, you can record the history of sources files, and documents. CVS fills a similar role to the free software RCS, PRCS, and Aegis packages.
CVS is a production quality system in wide use around the world, including many free software projects.
While CVS stores individual file history in the same format as RCS, it offers the following significant advantages over RCS:
- It can run scripts which you can supply to log CVS operations or enforce site-specific polices.
- Client/server CVS enables developers scattered by geography or slow modems to function as a single team. The version history is stored on a single central server and the client machines have a copy of all the files that the developers are working on. Therefore, the network between the client and the server must be up to perform CVS operations (such as checkins or updates) but need not be up to edit or manipulate the current versions of the files. Clients can perform all the same operations which are available locally.
- In cases where several developers or teams want to each maintain their own version of the files, because of geography and/or policy, CVSs vendor branches can import a version from another team (even if they dont use CVS), and then CVS can merge the changes from the vendor branch with the latest files if that is what is desired.
- Unreserved checkouts, allowing more than one developer to work on the same files at the same time.
- CVS provides a flexible modules database that provides a symbolic mapping of names to components of a larger software distribution. It applies names to collections of directories and files. A single command can manipulate the entire collection.
- CVS servers run on most unix variants, and clients for Windows NT/95, OS/2 and VMS are also available. CVS will also operate in what is sometimes called server mode against local repositories on Windows 95/NT.

GeneRecon 1.2

GeneRecon 1.2

GeneRecon is a software package for linkage disequilibrium mapping using coalescent theory. more>>
GeneRecon is a software package for linkage disequilibrium mapping using coalescent theory. GeneRecon project is based on a Bayesian Markov-chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method for fine-scale linkage-disequilibrium gene mapping using high-density marker maps.
GeneRecon explicitly models the genealogy of a sample of the case chromosomes in the vicinity of a disease locus. Given case and control data in the form of genotype or haplotype information, it estimates a number of parameters, most importantly, the disease position.
GeneRecon is written in C++ and Guile Scheme and is available as source code (under the GNU General Public License, GPL) and as binary versions as Linux RPM files.
The source code has been successfully compiled on various Linux and UNIX systems, under OS X and under Windows with Cygwin.
As I have only limited access to architectures other than Linux, it is not possible for me to make binary distributions for other platforms, but if anyone is willing to build the distributions I will be more than happy to put them on this site.
Installation:
$ tar zxf generecon-version.tar.gz
$ cd generecon-version
$ ./configure
$ make
$ make check
$ make install
Usage:
GeneRecon is started from the command-line; the input data and parameters for the analysis are described in one or more configuration scripts written in the Scheme programming language. Starting GeneRecon with the configuration script input.scm is done as:
$ generecon input.scm
Run generecon --help to get a complete list of command-line options accepted by GeneRecon, or see Getting Started for a quick guide to running GeneRecon.
Enhancements:
- This version fixes an incorrect prior on the coalescent tree that resulted in very long convergence times.
- The fix greatly improves both accuracy and number of iterations needed for accurate mapping.
