DV Video Assembler 0.93

DV Video Assembler 0.93

DV Video Assembler allows you to append multiple Sony DV files. more>>
This application is particularly useful for owners of digital DV video cameras and other people who use the Sony DV video format for high quality video production.

DV Assembler allows you to append multiple Sony DV files with nice looking transition effects for both audio and video. Multiple transition effects are supported, like cross-fade, zoom, blur and a flash effect.

I created DV Assembler because there are no user friendly video editing applications for Linux. Yes, Kino is promising, but its user interface is still a mess and development is slow.

DV Assembler only touches the head and tail parts of the original video files that are needed to create the transition effects. The rest of the video is left untouched, which means zero quality loss.

DV Assembler can also be used to generate video editing scripts that can be run without KDE and Kommander.

Using of these programs for this purpose is uncomfortable and sometimes difficult especially for beginners because it involves a lot of knowledge about DVD/(S)VCD technology and video converting.

Linux Video Maker binds funcionality of 8 exterior programs and prevents from making many mistakes mainly in conversion process which can take a lot of time as AVI files uses complicated video algorithms (DIVX).

thin liquid film project is an application which allows linux users to quickly and easily convert video files for ipods. more>>
thin liquid film project is an application which allows linux users to quickly and easily convert video files into a format suitable for playing on the video capable ipods. I wrote this application, after purchasing a video ipod, and being frustrated that the only real option for converting video was either via command-line, or via a servicemenu with no ability to configure the resulting video file.
TLF uses the ffmpeg engine to do the encoding. It is written in pyqt, so it should work with a default kde installation, and is very easy to install.
features ...
Main features:
- Batch process any number of files;
- Display detailed information about source video files;
- Change output settings for one or many files;
- Save default settings for future sessions;

- Choose between mpeg4 and h264 as output codec;
- Choose between 320 and 640 output video width, while maintaining aspect ratio;

First we need a Firefox extension called: Lanchy,
this extension give us the ability to open directly from Firefox Youtube video on youtube webpage (not on all webpages that have a youtube video!

You ALWAYS need the youtube videos webpage! After you have installed Launchy (from firefoxs addon site), restart Firefox, now it will ask you to insert a Launchys button on your toolbar (DO IT! so open Youtube videos will be very simply), after that go on the preferences/option of this extension and uncheck the option: "search automatically programs".

Now copy the "launchy.xml" file that you found on the package and copy it on your directory:
".mozilla/firefox/YOUR_ID.default/chrome/" , after copied it, please dont forget to edit it with your myvs.py COMPLETE PATH, and add or delete oppurtune option to pass to the script.

Now restart again firefox an watch if it recognise the command (by pressing the G).

Go on youtube.com, open a video webpage, click on the G button-> Open in Mplayer Youtube Video Streamer.

SuperShow 2.0

SuperShow 2.0

SuperShow is a project which allows you to create, from a PDF file and an audio/video file, slideshows with syncronized audio. more>>
SuperShow is a project which allows you to create, from a PDF file and an audio/video file, slideshows with syncronized audio.

Imagine this scenario: you do a conference, with a set of slides created with Impress, PowerPoint or other tool. Someone (maybe you) recorded it as only audio, to make it available in the net. Unfortunately it lacks the slides, so people who download the audio will have to get them separately and try to imagine when to change to the next picture.

With a video recording theres the problem that, usually, the slides are quite unreadable, unless high bitrates are used and the camera set near the screen.

Here is where SuperShow comes. With it you can take your slides (exported to PDF) and your audio/video recording, and mix them in a single, small size, Adobe Flash file, which can be played from the net or downloaded to be seen locally. SuperShow allows you to easily sincronize the audio and the slide transitions and insulates you from the complexity of creating Flash files from Linux with SWFtools (ok, its not so complex, but requires you to use the keyboard :) .
