OBEXFTP Front-end 0.6.1

OBEXFTP Front-end 0.6.1

OBEXFTP Front-End is a Java Swing application that acts as a GUI for the obexftp project. more>>
OBEXFTP Front-End is very effective Java Swing application that uses the ObexFTP under the hood to make easier to manipulate the file system of OBEX-enabled devices.
The Open OBEX project, which is an open source project hosted in SourceForge.net, is the most successful implementation of the OBEX (OBject EXchange) protocol for Open Source Unix-based Operating Systems. Besides, it supports a wide range of devices of different models and vendors.
The only bad thing about this project is that the Open OBEX is a set of command-line programs, and they are not so friendly to the end users. We have been using the Open OBEX for some time, and we felt the need of a friendly user interface to make things easier for us - the users.
So, ObexFTP front-end is a simple - but nice - Java Swing application that uses ObexFTP under the hood to make easier to manipulate the file system of OBEX-enabled devices.
Main features:
- navigate through the devices files;
- create folders in the device;
- send file(s) to the device;
- download file(s) to your computer;
- delete files and folders;
The ObexFTP has been tested in the following Operating Systems:
- Slackware 12.0
- Ubuntu 7.0.4
If youre successfully running ObexFTP front-end in other Operating System than those listed here, please let us know!

Dojo Toolkit 0.3.0

Dojo Toolkit 0.3.0

Dojo is the Open Source JavaScript toolkit that helps you build serious applications in less time. more>>
Dojo is the Open Source JavaScript toolkit that helps you build serious applications in less time. Dojo Toolkit project fills in the gaps where JavaScript and browsers dont go quite far enough, and gives you powerful, portable, lightweight, and tested tools for constructing dynamic interfaces.
Dojo lets you prototype interactive widgets quickly, animate transitions, and build Ajax requests with the most powerful and easiest to use abstractions available. These capabilities are built on top of a lightweight packaging system, so you never have to figure out which order to request script files in again.
Dojos package system and optional build tools help you develop quickly and optimize transparently.
Dojo also packs an easy to use widget system. From prototype to deployment, Dojo widgets are HTML and CSS all the way. Best of all, since Dojo is portable JavaScript to the core, your widgets can be portable between HTML, SVG, and whatever else comes down the pike. The web is changing, and Dojo can help you stay ahead.
Dojo makes professional web development better, easier, and faster. In that order.
Enhancements:
- A new, high-performance, well-tested storage engine was added.
- A new, lightweight animation engine was added.
- Cross-domain AJAX and package loading support were added.
- Less boilerplate is needed when writing widgets thanks to dojo.widget.defineWidget.
- Many new widgets were added, including SortableTable, TitlePane, Form validation, Menus, Menu bars, Google maps, and Yahoo maps.

Sound Studio 1.0.6

Sound Studio 1.0.6

Sound Studio is a Sound Editing Tool. more>>
Sound Studio is a Tcl/Tk application written by Paul Sharpe as his third year individual project, for which he received the Microsoft Prize for Software Engineering. It was subsequently improved by Robin Whitehead.

It enables recording, playback and simple cut & paste editing of sound files of diverse formats on a PC equipped with a soundcard and the OSS (formally VoxWare) sound drivers.

It uses Lance Norskogs Sox for format conversion; the version weve used is bundled together with this software in its entirety to prevent incompatibility problems, although you should try it with your own sox if you have a more recent one.

Sound Studio is now "finished", but no doubt there are loads of bugs still to be found and features to be added.

xhyperoid 1.2

xhyperoid 1.2

xhyperoid project is an enhanced asteroids clone for X and svgalib. more>>
xhyperoid project is an enhanced asteroids clone for X and svgalib.
xhyperoid is essentially an Asteroids clone, but with a few extra features, and (arguably) improved game physics. Its a port of an old Windows 3.x game by Edward Hutchins. There are versions for both X and svgalib.
Main features:
- the decent game physics and enhancements over the original game make it probably my favourite Asteroids variant;
- its always sucked having to run it under Windows (admittedly, you can run the original under Wine, but its less than ideal);
- its the first GPLd program I ever saw, which gives it a certain special something for me. :-)
Enhancements:
- This being the initial release, there are no changes yet.

Yahoo::Search::Request 1.7.10

Yahoo::Search::Request 1.7.10

Yahoo::Search::Request is a container object for a Yahoo! Search request. more>>
Yahoo::Search::Request is a container object for a Yahoo! Search request. (This package is included in, and automatically loaded by, the Yahoo::Search package.)

Package Use

You never need to use this package directly -- it is loaded automatically by Yahoo::Search.

Object Creation

In practice, this class is generally not dealt with explicitly, but rather implicitly via functions in Yahoo::Search such as Query and Links, which build and use a Request object under the hood.

You also have access to the Request object via Request() method of resulting Response and Result objects.

To be clear, Request objects are created by the Request() method of a Search Engine object (Yahoo::Search).

Network UPS Tools 2.2.0

Network UPS Tools 2.2.0

Network UPS Tools is an extremely powerful and versatile client/server based approach to UPS monitoring. more>>
Network UPS Tools is a collection of programs which provide a common interface for monitoring and administering UPS hardware. Network UPS Tools uses a layered approach to connect all of the parts.
Drivers are provided for a wide assortment of equipment. They understand the specific language of each UPS and map it back to a compatibility layer.
This means both an expensive "smart" protocol UPS and a simple "power strip" model can be handled transparently.
This information is cached by the network server upsd, which then answers queries from the clients. upsd contains a number of access control features to limit the abilities of the clients. Only authorized hosts may monitor or control your UPS hardware if you wish.
Since the notion of monitoring over the network is built into the software, you can hang many systems off one large UPS and they will all shut down together.
Clients such as upsmon check on the status of the hardware and do things when necessary. The most important task is shutting down the operating system cleanly before the UPS runs out of power.
Other programs are also provided to log UPS status regularly, monitor status through your web browser, and more.
Enhancements:
- HAL support. IPv6 support.
- Support for many new devices.
- Many driver improvements.
- This release uses automake.

Slackintosh 12.0

Slackintosh 12.0

Slackintosh is a port of Slackware GNU/Linux to PPC (Macintosh). more>>
Slackintosh is a port of Slackware GNU/Linux to PPC (Macintosh).

Russell Kroll was the first person who ported Slackware to PPC (http://slackintosh.exploits.org), but the project stalled with an unfinished 9.1 ..

I (Adrian) started again from scratch porting 10.1 to PPC, and ive stolen the name Slackintosh...

Please note that this port was not done by Russell, dont send him Bugreports.

I used the the Sources + SlackBuild files from Slackware 10.1. ..but i had to make a few changes:

The new Binutils from 10.x didnt like GCC, i used the 9.1 Version to build everything. The Installer uses BusyBox 1.0 and Linux 2.4 is not included, only 2.6.11.5 (Runs better on PPC .. imho)

Its not finished: Not all packages are ported. Youll get gcc, X, Mozilla, XFCE, Gimp.. but no
monsters like KDE & Co.

The installer maybe somewhat funky.. Missing packages are still listed and the yaboot installation isnt tested very well...

..but you should be able to get it running. It won the WFM (WorksForMe) price. (Tested on a MiniMac & iBook2)

RRDTool 1.2.21 / 1.3 Beta 1

RRD is a system to store and display time-series data. more>>
RRD is the Acronym for Round Robin Database. RRD is a system to store and display time-series data (i.e. network bandwidth, machine-room temperature, server load average).
RRDTool project stores the data in a very compact way that will not expand over time, and it presents useful graphs by processing the data to enforce a certain data density.
It can be used either via simple wrapper scripts (from shell or Perl) or via frontends that poll network devices and put a friendly user interface on it.
Whats New in 1.2.21 Stable Release:
- More graph config options.
- An ABS operator for CDEF.
- Several segfaults have been fixed.
- More robust Ruby and Python extension builds.
