RipOff CD Ripper 0.8.2
RipOff is a GTK+ based CD ripper for Linux. more>>
RipOff is a GTK+ based CD ripper for Linux (and hopefully for other Unix systems once some testing and fixing have been done) that has a simple interface, CDDB lookups, and a plugin-based encoder architecture.
RipOff CD Ripper attempts to appeal to those users who want a non-GNOME dependent CD ripper with a simple interface, or users who just dont like the interfaces of the other GTK+ CD rippers.
Enhancements:
- Added HTTP_PROXY Functionality
- Fixed a bug where for newer versions of GTK "about" dialogue windows were not closing
- FLAC plugin now supports FLAC 1.1.3
- Added an icon for RipOff
- Miscellaneous code cleanups

KungFu DVD Ripper 0.2.3
KungFu DVD Ripper is a GStreamer based DVD ripper. more>>
KungFu DVD Ripper is a GStreamer based DVD ripper.
KungFu creates backups of your DVDs, saving them as .oggs on your hard drive. It encodes the backup using patent-free codecs, Theora for video and Vorbis for audio.
KungFu is not designed for producing backups that fit within a certain file size (say, for burning onto CD); instead, it is designed to produce backups of consistent quality while maintaining the lowest average file size possible (for building a video library on your hard drive).

MMSRIP is a pure useless program which allows you to save on your hard-disk the content being streamed by an MMS server. more>>
MMSRIP is a pure useless program which allows you to save on your hard-disk the content being streamed by an MMS server.
This program has been written for personnal use, so dont blame me if you think I am stupid doing such tool for the others.
MMS Ripper project should run on every POSIX compliant Operating System, but I cant give you any complete list.
MMSRIP is a client for the proprietary protocol MMS://.
It actually saves to a file the content being streamed. Please remember that this is not intended for real use, its existence is only and must only be documentary.
Enhancements:
- This release introduces many improvements and bugfixes such as a workaround for recalcitrant MMS servers, a switch which enables debug output and the display of the ripping speed.
- You may also compile MMSRIP on Solaris, Cygwin, and Win32 now.

Stream ripper 1.61.24
Streamripper started as a way to separate tracks via Shoutcasts title-streaming feature. more>>
Streamripper started as a way to separate tracks via Shoutcasts title-streaming feature. This has now been expanded into a much more generic feature, where part of the program only tries to "hint" at where one track starts and another ends, thus allowing a mp3 decoding engine to scan for a silent mark, which is used to find an exact track separation.
Streamripper was started sometime back in early 2000.
This is not surprising because portability was a constant consideration during development.Streamripper is now part of the FreeBSD standard distribution, mentioned in the Linux MP3 HOWTO, known to compile on many platforms such as Linux, Windows, FreeBSD, BeOS, OS/2.
With the emergence of file sharing protocols such as Napster, Gnutella, and now Mojonation and Freenet, the average Internet user can download nearly any mp3 he wants in a matter of no time, but many times people dont know what they want. Streamripper allows you to download an entire station of music. Many of these mp3 radio stations only play certain genres, so you can now download an entire collection of goa/trance music, an entire collection of jazz, punk rock, whatever you want.
Enhancements:
- Fix bug where external program wasnt being killed when reconnecting.

SmsDumper 0.8.2
SmsDumper is a Java client for the Clickatell service to send SMSes to GSM mobile phones from the Internet. more>>
SmsDumper is a Java client for the Clickatell service to send SMSes to GSM mobile phones from the Internet. The subscription to this service is free, and you get 10 free credits at registration. You can then buy more credits to continue tu use the service.
I think this service is quite convenient as the cost of an SMS is generally cheaper than average rates. You can alse set the number of the sender so that the receiver cant see any difference between an SMS sent from this service and one sent from your mobile.
Contact list
The main panel of SmsDumper contains your contact list: you can add contacts, and for each contact, you can set how many mobile numbers you need.
Double-clicking on a number allows you to send SMS messages to the network.
Send Sms to the network
To send an SMS message you must open the "sms" panel.
Here are the fields you use to compose the message: the sender number (you can use alphanumeric characters, but my advice is to set it with your number with the leading +, so the receiver can retrieve your name from his phone book), the destination number (without the leading +), and the message. It will be reported also the contact name if you use a number registered into the contact list.
When you type into the message textarea you can see the message length and the number of concatenated SMS messages.
You can also set the time of delivery selecting with how many minutes of delay send the message.
Setting the messages priority as AUTO the system try to send the message through the lowest cost network: if it fails, it automacally grow up to the next better queue. If you want you can choose manually the queue to use (high, medium or low priority).
Finally if you want to make the message appears immediately on the display of the receiver you can set the Flash message checkbox.
When the form is filled you can send the message.
The "V" button near the "To" field allows you to check if the destination network is covered by the service and the cost of an SMS sent to that network. Remember that it only checks if the network is reachable, not if the number is real!
When you send an SMS you can check the delivery status by clicking on the "Show status of last Sms sent" button.

Selenium Core 0.8.2
Selenium Core is a test tool for web applications. more>>
Selenium Core is a test tool for web applications. Selenium Core tests run directly in a browser, just as real users do. And they run in Internet Explorer, Mozilla and Firefox on Windows, Linux, and Macintosh. No other test tool covers such a wide array of platforms.
Browser compatibility testing. Test your application to see if it works correctly on different browsers and operating systems. The same script can run on any Selenium platform.
System functional testing. Create regression tests to verify application functionality and user acceptance.
Selenium Core uses a unique mechanism which allows it to run on so many platforms. Written in pure JavaScript/DHTML, you copy Selenium Core tests directly into your your application webserver, allowing the tests to run in any supported browser on the client-side. Thus, you must have write access to the machine your web application server is running on to install Selenium Core.
Supported browsers:
- Firefox 0.8 to 1.5
- Mozilla Suite 1.6+, 1.7+
- Konqueror
Enhancements:
- A critical bug in all waitFor* commands that made them never timeout was fixed.
- Bugs with element highlighting and support for IE HTA mode were fixed.
- Additional warnings were provided in the release notes.

Search And Rescue 0.8.2
Search And Rescue project is an air rescue flight simulator. more>>
Search And Rescue project is an air rescue flight simulator. The player pilots rescue helicopters to rescue victims in various situations of distress.
Search and Rescue is a helicopter based air rescue flight simulator. It employs a simple flight dynamics engine that is targetted towards the "average" player. It is not designed to be a cutting-edge realistic simulator, but rather a flexable game that everyone can play and enjoy.
The history of the development of this game goes back to 1997, when Search and Rescue was created as an explorative to design for more complex 3D games using the OpenGL graphics library. Much of the effort in the development of this game came from Wolfpack Entertainment and many dedicated contributors (see credits below).
This game was ported to Windows early on in its development to ensure the portability of its graphics code. However the Win32 version lacked certain features due to differences in Windows design of its graphic, sound, and controller implementation.
The flight dynamics engine (FDE) features helicopter, aircraft, and tilt-rotor aircraft flight dynamics models (FDMs). It uses source-centered (as opposed to world-centered) mathimatical equations to simulate movement which mimicks but does not fundimentally follow standard physics equations. This simplifies the "flyability" of the aircrafts at a slight cost of realisim and lightens processor load.
The 3D visual models of the aircrafts and objects were created by a program called Vertex 3D, an OpenGL modeller designed to create 3D visual models that are optimized for OpenGL.
Each scene is a finite sized flat world, separated vertically by cloud layer(s) and centered at the origin with an artificial longitude and latitude offset applied to displayed positions.

GradeL 0.8.2
GradeL (Gradebook for Linux) is a gradebook program for teachers. more>>
GradeL (Gradebook for Linux) is a gradebook program for teachers. Written in Gambas, this program includes some features I felt were important in a gradebook program. While still buggy and incomplete, it is functional.
GradeL requires the development version of Gambas, currently version 1.9.26. GradeL uses Gambas components gb.eval, gb.qt, gb.qt.ext, gb.qt.kde, and gb.qt.kde.html.
Although my coding technique is at times inefficient, GradeL does meet my needs. It features a spreadsheet-style main screen with vertical column headers that include the assignment name, category, and points. Assignments are grouped in categories for reporting purposes. Teachers may enter numerical scores or alpha-numeric codes for student scores.
These codes may count either zero points or excuse the student from that particular assignment. Gambas Grade provides practical reports designed to give plenty of information while conserving paper. Current reports include complete class report, single marking period progress report, and progress reports for all students. One other feature that I really like is an average row included in the spreadsheet that displays the average for the class on every assignment and for the overall marking period grade.
GradeL project is still in its infancy. The program still has bugs and incomplete features. I am making it available now as a preview for review and testing purposes. You may not want to use it as your primary grading program at this time.

LibOFX 0.8.2
LibOFX is a generic library to allow financial software to easily support the Open Financial eXchange specification. more>>
LibOFX project is a generic library to allow financial software to easily support the Open Financial eXchange specification.
Two utilities are currently included with LibOFX: ofxdump and ofxtoqif. ofxdump writes to stdout, in human readable form, everything the library understands about a particular OFX response file. ofxtoqif is an OFX response to the QIF (Quicken Interchange Format) file converter.
Much OFX information is lost since the QIF file format is very primitive, but ofx2qif should allow importation of bank statements in any software that support QIF until said software supports the library directly.
LibOFX was implemented from the full OFX 1.6 spec and comes with a developers manual.
Enhancements:
- bug fixes for GCC4.x and 64-bit compatibility
- fix to enable OFXDirectConnect in Aqbanking
- improvements to ofxpartner functionality
- minor build system modifications
- new fields for fees, commissions and stock split data
- fix a memory leak and a potential crashing bug
