DataDrafter Personal Edition 1.1
DataDrafter is a new and unique program that allows you to create your own interactive graphics applications. more>>
DataDrafter project is a new and unique program that allows you to create your own interactive graphics applications with data editing, navigation, search and reporting features built in. Use DataDrafter instead of Visio for example, to create diagrams, maps and technical drawings that are interactive and fully integrated with your data.
Your visualizations become real applications instead of just wall paper. You can even share your graphics and data as an application on the web or on your own intranet.
If you use a combination of drawings and spreadsheets to manage data, try using DataDrafter instead.
The Integrated Data/Graphics Environment ensures that both your data and graphics stay synchronized. With DataDrafter your drawings become an interactive part of your data management process. Why put all that effort into your drawings just to hang them on the wall? Put them to work for you and others while keeping them up to date with DataDrafter.

OpenLink Virtuoso Universal Server 5.0.1
OpenLink Virtuoso is a Virtual Database product that provides transparent real-time access to disparate data sources. more>>
OpenLink Virtuoso is a Virtual Database product that provides transparent real-time access to disparate data sources (ODBC, JDBC, XML, and Web Services), and transparent integration of disparate application logic (e.g. Mono ECMA-CLI and J2EE integration). OpenLink Virtuoso Universal Servers broad protocol support enables it to offer Web, File, and SQL database server functionality alongside native XML storage, and Web services platform functionality as part of a cohesive single server solution.
Virtuoso is at the core a high performance object-relational SQL database. As a database, it provides transactions, a smart SQL compiler, powerful stored procedure language with optional Java and .Net server side hosting, hot backup, SQL 99 and more. It has all major data access interfaces, as in ODBC, JDBC, ADO .Net and OLE/DB.
Virtuoso has a built-in web server which can serve dynamic web pages written in Virtuosos web page language as well as PHP, ASP .net and others. This same web server provides SOAP and REST access to Virtuoso stored procedures, supporting a broad set of WS protocols such as WS-Security, WS-Reliable Messaging and others. A BPEL4WS run time is also available as part of Virtuosos SOA suite.
Virtuoso has a built-in WebDAV? repository. This can host static and dynamic web content and optionally provides versioning. The WebDAV? repository is tested to interoperate with WebDAV? clients built into Windows XP, Mac OSX and others and makes Virtuoso a convenient and secure place for keeping ones files on the net. Further, Virtuoso provides automatic metadata extraction and full text searching for supported content types.
Open Virtuoso supports SPARQL embedded into SQL for querying RDF data stored in Virtuosos database. SPARQL benefits from low-level support in the engine itself, such as SPARQL aware type casting rules and a dedicated IRI data type. This is the newest and fastest developing area in Virtuoso.
Enhancements:
- Enhanced cost-based optimizer
- Fixed cost calculation for RDF inf nodes
- Added larger sample in query cost model sampling
- Enhanced SPARQL support

JooReports 2.0.0
JOOReports is an open source solution for creating office documents and reports in Java, using OpenOffice.org. more>>
JOOReports (Java/OpenOffice Reports) is an open source solution for creating office documents and reports in Java, using OpenOffice.org.
Its primary goal is making template composition easy. Templates are regular word processor documents, created the OpenOffice.org Writer, with just a few special features for marking fields and other dynamic parts.
Despite this JOOReports includes support for powerful templating features, such as :
dynamic field replacement, using a powerful expression language
conditionally displaying a document portion based on a test expression
repeating a document portion (e.g. a table row) for each item in a collection
replacing an embedded image.
As for the data to be merged into the template, JOOReports support regular Java beans, so you can use a simple java.util.Map if you just need a few variables, or use any of your existing classes representing your application data model. XML support is also available for importing data from external sources.
JOOReports is licensed under the terms of the LGPL. This means that the unmodified JOOReports library is free to use in both open source and commercial projects.
Enhancements:
- The only change since rc2 is a fix for a bug with character encodings on platforms where UTF-8 is not the default.

my $dbh = DBI->connect(dbi:AnyData(RaiseError=>1):);
$dbh->func( Pipe, data.pipe, XML, data.xml, ad_convert);
or
(many combinations of a dozen other data formats, see below)
The DBD::AnyData module provides a DBI/SQL interface to data in many formats and from many sources.
Currently supported formats include general format flatfiles (CSV, Fixed Length, Tab or Pipe "delimited", etc.), specific formats (passwd files, web logs, etc.), a variety of other kinds of formats (XML, Mp3, HTML tables), and, for some operations, any DBI accessible database. The number of supported formats will continue to grow rapidly since there is an open API making it easy for any author to create additional format parsers which can be plugged in to AnyData.
Data in these various formats can come from local files, from remote files, or from perl data structures such as strings and arrays.
Regardless of the format or source of the data, it may be accessed and/or modified using all standard DBI methods and a subset of SQL syntax.
In addition to standard database access to files, the module also supports in-memory tables which allow you to create temporary views; to combine data from a number of sources; to quickly prototype database systems; and to display or save the data in any of the supported formats (e.g. to display data in a CSV file as an HTML table).
These in-memory tables can be created from any combination of DBI databases or files of any format. They may also be created from perl data structures which means its possible to quickly prototype a database system without any file access or rdbms backend.
