Remote Python Call 2.60

Remote Python Call 2.60

RPyC stands for Remote Python Call, a pun over remote procedure call. more>>
RPyC stands for Remote Python Call, a pun over remote procedure call. It is completely transparent and symmetrical. It is inspired by the work of eyal lotem (pybuild.sf.net) on pyinvoke, and was made for two purposes:
Learning the lowlevel of the python language attempting to improve pyinvoke by making the entire protocol symmetrical. This means the client can make requests to the server, and the server can reply with requests of its own (the client is also a server on its own). This typically means using callback functions.
The RPyC package comes with a full demo, showing (or showing-off) many of its features. As i said, its completely transparent and symmetrical, so you can write code just as you would write in the case of normal python programs.
demo 1 -- a simple client demo
# import the client
from Rpyc.Client import RpycSocketClient
# `hostname` is the name of the host running an Rpyc server
# the port parameter is optional
c = RpycSocketClient("hostname")
# now we are connected and can start messing around with stuff on the server
for filename in c.modules.os.listdir("/tmp"):
print "found file", filename
Enhancements:
- This release adds DeliveringNamespace, LoginError (instead of tlslites internal errors), __version__, deliver (the counterpart of obtain, which can now deliver and obtain functions as well), and isproxy (to test whether an object is a proxy).
- It improves memory consumption with __slots__ and the isinstance/issubclass mechanism.

RPC::XML::Procedure 0.59

RPC::XML::Procedure 0.59

RPC::XML::Procedure is an object encapsulation of server-side RPC procedures. more>>
RPC::XML::Procedure is an object encapsulation of server-side RPC procedures.

SYNOPSIS

require RPC::XML::Procedure;

...
$method_1 = RPC::XML::Procedure->new({ name => system.identity,
code => sub { ... },
signature => [ string ] });
$method_2 = RPC::XML::Procedure->new(/path/to/status.xpl);

IMPORTANT NOTE

This package is comprised of the code that was formerly RPC::XML::Method. The package was renamed when the decision was made to support procedures and methods as functionally different entities. It is not necessary to include both this module and RPC::XML::Method -- this module provides the latter as an empty subclass. In time, RPC::XML::Method will be removed from the distribution entirely.

The RPC::XML::Procedure package is designed primarily for behind-the-scenes use by the RPC::XML::Server class and any subclasses of it. It is documented here in case a project chooses to sub-class it for their purposes (which would require setting the method_class attribute when creating server objects, see RPC::XML::Server).

This package grew out of the increasing need to abstract the operations that related to the methods a given server instance was providing. Previously, methods were passed around simply as hash references. It was a small step then to move them into a package and allow for operations directly on the objects themselves. In the spirit of the original hashes, all the key data is kept in clear, intuitive hash keys (rather than obfuscated as the other classes do). Thus it is important to be clear on the interface here before sub-classing this package.

DVB Remote Key Editor project was made in order to have an easy way of modifying the keymaps of DVB-T remotes. more>>
DVB Remote Key Editor project was made in order to have an easy way of modifying the keymaps of DVB-T remotes which are usually hardcoded in the corresponding kernel-modules.

Currently this works for the following models:

Haupauge Win-TV Nova-T USB2 dvb-usb-nova-t-usb2.ko 45
Cinergy T2 cinergyT2.ko 37
AVerMedia AverTV DVB-T dvb-usb-a800.ko 34
Generic dib-usb Driver dvb-usb-dibusb-common.ko 63
WideView/Yakumo/Hama/Typhoon/Yuan DVB-T USB2 dvb-usb-dtt200u.ko 18
TwinhanDTV Alpha/MagicBoxII USB2 dvb-usb-vp7045.ko 32

This will not work if your kernel is enabled to use ksign, which secures kernel-modules against binary modifications.

Usage:

Run as root by executing: gksudo python dvb-remote-key-editor.py

Warning: This application binary patches a kernel module. Therefore be sure to make a backup of the module. THIS SOFTWARE COMES WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY!

Remote Monitoring Agent 1.25

Remote Monitoring Agent 1.25

Remote Monitoring Agent (RMA) is an auxiliary application for HostMonitor. more>>
Remote Monitoring Agent (RMA in short) is an auxiliary application for HostMonitor. Enterprise license for Advanced Host Monitor already includes license for 10 installations of the agent. Holders of a Lite, Standard or Professional licenses may buy an additional license for Remote Monitoring Agent separately.
HostMonitor 4.0+ can monitor remote networks using Remote Monitoring Agents (RMA). RMA is small application that accepts requests from HostMonitor, performs test and provides information about test result back to HostMonitor.
Why you may need RMA? Here are just several reasons:
RMA increases security of the network. When you have to run the tests such as CPU Usage test or Performance Counters tests on a remote Windows system, HostMonitor must be able to log in to that system with administrators privileges. Instead you may now use an agent installed on that remote system. In this case HostMonitor will not have to log on to that system at all. HostMonitor needs just one TCP port to communicate with the RMA agent (by default it uses #1055 port, however you may set an agent to use any other port).
Remote Monitoring Agent is also a very useful tool when you have to monitor two (or many) separated networks (connected through Internet). In this case installing just one instance of RMA behind the firewall in network "A" will allow to monitor entire network "A" using the HostMonitor located in the network "B" with just one open TCP port.
RMA decreases the network traffic. E.g. frequent use of "File Integrity" or "Compare Files" tests in an array of remote systems may apply significant load on the network. The more and the bigger files you test the more traffic increase you get. RMA runs locally and sends only the test results to the HostMonitor thus decreasing the amount of network traffic.
Remote Monitoring Agent simplifies network administration. You no longer need to share local drives/folders to perform tests such as File Integrity, Folder/File Size, File Availability, Count Files, etc
RMA for Linux / BSD / Solaris allows you to perform tests that HostMonitor cannot perform. For example HostMonitor cannot monitor processes that are running on Linux systems. RMA can do that.
Main features:
- All traffic between Remote Monitoring Agents and HostMonitor is encrypted.
- It is possible to customize the list of enabled tests for each of the agents (e.g. living only Count Files and UNC tests only).
- You can restrict incoming TCP connections with the list of acceptable addresses.
- With RMA Manager you may configure, restart and even upgrade agent(s) remotely.

Remote nmap 0.10

Remote nmap 0.10

Remote Nmap (Rnmap) package contains both client and server programs. more>>
Remote Nmap (Rnmap) package contains both client and server programs. Actual idea for this sofware is that various clients can connect to one centralized Rnmap server and do their portscannings. Server does user authentication and uses excellent Nmap scanner to do actual scanning. Rnmap is written entirely in Python and is released under the terms of the GNU General Public License.

Version 0.10 of server is tested mainly on Linux, NetBSD and OpenBSD. Generally it should run on any *nix platform as long Nmap and Python are available for them. Console client is known to work with same platforms as server. Gui client will run on any python (with threads) supported platform.

Python Remote Call Module 0.0.3

Python Remote Call Module 0.0.3

Python Remote Call Module allows to transparently work with remote object in a python program. more>>
Python Remote Call Module allows to transparently work with remote object in a python program.
To make this possible a kind of peer-to-peer design is used. Servers can be created explictly, as can clients by explicitly connecting to a server. If a client needs to have a server, e.g. so a reference to a local object can be passed to a remote destination, it is instantiated as needed.
Clients can have multiple connections. New connections are created when needed, e.g. when a remote reference to a new server is recieved.
WARNING:
This module is still in its experimental phase, so it is kind of usable, but an awful lot of bugs is still in it, and quite a few parts are not coded yet, others arent even designed yet.
Therefor lots of changes and outdated documentation should be expected.
Enhancements:
- All previous stub objects have been replaced by a single stub object which uses on-demand retrieval of attributes of remote objects.
- This way, the behavior of the stub object is much more flexible and smoother.
- A first draft of an authentication framework has been implemented so PyRCall can support many different authentication methods.
- Support for username/password-based authentication has been implemented.

Data::ICal::Entry::Alarm::Procedure 0.12

Data::ICal::Entry::Alarm::Procedure 0.12

Data::ICal::Entry::Alarm::Procedure is a Perl module that represents a procedure-call alarm in an iCalendar file. more>>
Data::ICal::Entry::Alarm::Procedure is a Perl module that represents a procedure-call alarm in an iCalendar file.

SYNOPSIS

my $valarm = Data::ICal::Entry::Alarm::Procedure->new();
$valarm->add_properties(
attach => [ "ftp://host.com/novo-procs/felizano.exe", { fmttype => "application/binary" } ],
# Dat*e*::ICal is not a typo here
trigger => [ Date::ICal->new( epoch => ... )->ical, { value => DATE-TIME } ],
);

$vevent->add_entry($valarm);

A Data::ICal::Entry::Alarm::Procedure object represents an alarm that calls a procedure (in some application-defined way), which is attached to a todo item or event in an iCalendar file. (Note that the iCalendar RFC refers to entries as "components".) It is a subclass of Data::ICal::Entry and accepts all of its methods.

METHODS

new

Creates a new Data::ICal::Entry::Alarm::Procedure object; sets its ACTION property to PROCEDURE.

ical_entry_type

Returns VALARM, its iCalendar entry name.

optional_unique_properties

According to the iCalendar standard, the following properties may be specified at most one time for a procedure-call alarm:

duration repeat description

Note that if one of duration or repeat is specified, the other one must be also, though this module does not enforce that restriction.

mandatory_unique_properties

According to the iCalendar standard, the trigger and attach properties must be specified exactly once for a procedure-call alarm. (In addition, the action property must be specified exactly once, but the module automatically sets it for you.)

Remote Gnu Database Manager 2.1.41

Remote Gnu Database Manager 2.1.41

Remote Gnu Database Manager is a network server daemon and client library for the standard GNU GDBM(3) database management... more>>
Remote Gnu Database Manager is a network server daemon and client library for the standard GNU GDBM(3) database management interface, which itself incorporates Berkeley DBM.
To setup after installation (these notes are for 2.1.33 or later), let make install do what it can, and then:
1. create a user, gdbm, on the server machine with home in /var/lib/gdbm. Make install tries to do that for you using adduser so you likely just have to check /etc/passwd and /etc/group.
2. Create /var/lib/gdbm and change owner to gdbm. Again, make install has a stab at this for you and likely you will need to do nothing yourself.
3. Also create /var/lib/gdbm/data, /var/lib/gdbm/ctrl and change owner to gdbm. Make install should also have made those.
4. Copy those parts of /etc/passwd belonging to users who should be able to access the daemon to /var/lib/gdbm/ctrl/passwd. This is entirely in your hands.
5. Likewise for /etc/group to /var/lib/gdbm/ctrl/group.
6. Start the daemon as gdbm with some command like "sudo -u gdbm /usr/sbin/gdbmd", or "su -c /usr/sbin/gdbmd gdbm". The install will not start it for you, nor does it presently install a system startup script for it in /etc/init.d or elsewhere.
7. Write an application on the client that uses the standard gdbm_* calls in the GNU GDBM(3) manpage, but replace the gdbm_ calls with rgdbm_ calls. The install routine does do that ... or perhaps I lie.
Thats about it! Apart from setting up for SSL if you want to use that and Ill give some further indications as to how to do that below.
One has to add two extra calls in the application over and above what was there already for gdbm(3) usage; one to rgdbm_connect() and another to rgdbm_disconnect(), respectively to begin and end the session, as detailed in the rgdbm(3) man page.
Example:
Sample code ... start by making the connection:
rgdbm_connect(host, dir, user, 0);
Then open the desired database in that directory:
GDBM_FILE dbf = rgdbm_open(dbname, 1024, GDBM_WRCREAT, 0640, NULL);
Now the rgdbm(3) ops are available.
fprintf(stdout, "Database contains ...n");
datum key = rgdbm_firstkey(dbf);
if (key.dptr) {
datum content = rgdbm_fetch(dbf, key);
fprintf(stdout, "key %s content %sn", key.dptr, content.dptr);
while (key = rgdbm_nextkey(dbf, key), key.dptr) {
fprintf(stdout, "key %s content %sn", key.dptr, content.dptr);
}
}
Terminate by closing:
rgdbm_close(dbf);
and disconnect from the session:
rgdbm_disconnect();
Enhancements:
- Added (generated) debian directory to package.
