Syllable was born in July 2002 as a fork of the AtheOS operating system. Several AtheOS developers, concerned about the long-term development of AtheOS, created Syllable to ensure that development would continue.
Syllables goal is to create a reliable and easy-to-use open source operating system for the home and small office user. We also want to encourage developers to create an operating system that is intuitive, easy to use, and powerful.

NullableTypes for .NET are a very reliable and efficient version of built-in value-types that can be Null. NullableTypes pass more than 800 differents test cases and have close-to-optimal efficiency as built-in value-types. They may be used every time you need to store a Null value in a .NET built-in value-type.

Types implemented by NullableTypes are: NullableBoolean, NullableByte, NullableInt16, NullableInt32, NullableInt64, NullableSingle, NullableDouble, NullableDecimal, NullableString and NullableDateTime.

Helper functions provide seamless integration with Windows and ASP.NET user controls and with ADO.NET.

NullableTypes will let you write code like this:

where RequestedDeliveryDate can be either NullableDateTime.Null or a valid DateTime value.

The property RequestedDeliveryDate.IsNull tests if the date is Null, and when it is not Null the property RequestedDeliveryDate.Value returns a valid DateTime value.

libsrvtab is a library that provides a simple API to Kerberos v4 srvtab handling, and offers reliable handling of the srvtab file to insure against corruption.

File is the open source implementation of the file command used on almost every free operating system (OpenBSD, Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD) and also on systems that use free software (including OS/2, DOS, MS Windows, etc.).

The file command, if youre not familiar with it, is a command-line tool that tells you in words what kind of data a file contains. Unlike MS-Windows, UNIX and other systems dont rely on filename extentions to tell you the type of a file, but look at the files actual contents. This is, of course, more reliable, but requires a bit of I/O.

The original file command shipped with Bell Labs UNIX but was unavailable in source form to the masses before Ians reimplementation.

This file command (and magic file) was originally written by Ian Darwin (who still contributes occasionally) and is now maintained by a group of developers lead by Christos Zoulas.

The Apache httpd server mod_mime_magic module uses the file commands innards to make file type guessing more reliable under Apache HTTPD.

libdvdplay is a simple library designed for DVD navigation. It depends on libdvdread (which can optionally use libdvdcss).
NOTE: libdvdplay is no longer under active development. VLC has switched to libdvdnav which appears to be more reliable for DVD navigation than libdvdplay. Of course you are still welcome to use, work or submit patches to libdvdplay.
Currently supported platforms are Unix, Windows, BeOS and Mac OS X, but it should work on almost any platform.
Enhancements:
- dvdplay_seek() now also works inside VMGM_DOMAIN and VTSM_DOMAIN.
- a couple of initialisation fixes.

mozplayerxp is an attempt to embed videos in mozilla firebird and mozilla under linux, the goal is to implement as much windows media/apple quicktime support as possible.

you might ask why another plugin theres already one out there? mplayerplug-in?

mplayerplug-in uses many global variables in its shared library enviroment this is not reliable since there might be problems when running more than one instances (its like 2 people are going to share 1 glass at the same time)

the second aim is usability, this project relies on GTK2+ right now, another patch has to get submitted to the mplayer project for adding ALT-RETURN support to that plugin as well.

currently the plugin is able to switch to fullscreen, start and stop without any problems (that means the hardest part of that plugin is done since threading and forking dont affect anything else anymore).
