FVWM-Crystal 3.0.5

FVWM-Crystal 3.0.5

FVWM-Crystal aims to create an easy to use, pretty, and powerful desktop environment for Linux or other Unix-like systems. more>>
FVWM-Crystal aims to create an easy to use, eye-candy but also powerful desktop environment for Linux or other Unix-like operating systems.
FVWM-Crystal uses following programs: FVWM as a window manager and "main core", ROX-Filer as file manager (manages icons on the desktop), xterm, aterm, mrxvt or urxvt as terminal emulators, MPD or XMMS as music players (theres built-in support for controlling these programs), and several other tools for different functions, like setting a wallpaper or making screen shots.
Main features:
- transparent elements of the interface: panels, menus, dialogs (pseudo-transparency, doesnt show windows underneath)
- window decorations, panel/menu colorsets and desktop wallpaper changeable from the main menu; choice saved for next X sessions
- flexible window decorations: can have different titlebar buttons layout, pixmaps, button functions
- different "desktop layouts" (panel placement and functions, desktop functions, window icons/thumbnails), changeable from the menu
- advanced keyboard support: keybindings for controlling the desktop switching, window management (moving, resizing, focusing, basic operations like minimalization or closing) - nearly 90 different keybindings
- support for controlling music players, using the keyboard or panel buttons and menus; currently MPD and XMMS are supported
- advanced support of the terminal windows: special "QuakeConsole" terminal accessible by an Alt+` (grave) keystroke similar to the console found in FPP games; terminals can be opened using RMB on the desktop; terminal windows dont release focus for newly opened windows (by default)
- a Python script for generating different panels and menus with installed applications - automatically finds programs in $PATH and creates specified menus and panels
- support for nearly 250 different applications - icons, menu/panel database entries, window styles
- different language support using gettext
Features for advanced users
- all FVWM configuration divided into small files in a simple directory structure
- special functions for loading configuration files - allows FVWM configuration files placed in different directories (for example system-wide and user-wide); user files are searched before system-wide files (directory structure must be preserved), first found file is loaded
- simple and easy to use system of "user preferences", adds to the configuration files ability to remember different user choices and recall them at any moment, usually at the startup of X session
- support for system-wide configuration in /etc/X11/fvwm/fvwm-crystal directory as well as user configuration in ~/.fvwm directory - changes in configuration files can be preserved between package updates
- special files called "recipes" - similar to "standard" FVWM configuration model (one configuration - one file), allows for different configurations in the same package (for example different music players changeable during runtime)
- support for different icon themes and sizes (similar to /usr/share/icons directory), included many icons in 22x22, 32x32 and 48x48 sizes

xtarot 1.0.3

xtarot 1.0.3

xtarot is an application which plays Tarot cards. more>>
xtarot project is an application which plays Tarot cards.

It tells your fortune with virtual Tarot cards. Three tarot spreads are available via a simple user interface.

xtarot is designed to be as flexable as possible.

For this reason I have now split it into two packages. This should be very good for people who want to keep up with the latest version because you now no longer need to download over 3 Meg of graphics every time there is a change to the code!

braa 0.8

braa 0.8

Braa is a tool for making SNMP queries. more>>
Braa is a tool for making SNMP queries. It is a software able to query hundreds or thousands of hosts simultaneously, while being completely single-threaded.

The intended usage of such a tool is of course making SNMP queries - but unlike snmpget or snmpwalk from net-snmp, it is able to query dozens or hundreds of hosts simultaneously, and in a single process. Thus, it consumes very few system resources and does the scanning VERY fast.

Braa implements its OWN snmp stack, so it does NOT need any SNMP libraries like net-snmp. The implementation is very dirty, supports only several data types, and in any case cannot be stated standard-conforming! It was designed to be fast, and it is fast. For this reason (well, and also because of my laziness ;), there is no ASN.1 parser in braa - you HAVE to know the numerical values of OIDs (for instance .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5.0 instead of system.sysName.0

mirrorlinks 1.0.0

mirrorlinks 1.0.0

mirrorlinks is a small script that automatically mirrors the contents of a directory into another directory using symbolic links more>>
mirrorlinks project is a small script that automatically mirrors the contents of a directory into another directory using symbolic links, so you dont waste unnecessary disk space in copies.

This is better explained by example, of course:

You have directories Music, Movies and Shared.
You want to mirror both the contents of Music and the contents of Movies into Shared. For some specific reason, you dont want to place links to Movies and Music into Shared,

With mirrorlinks, thats easy to do:

mirrorlinks Music Shared
mirrorlinks Music Movies

Now Shared has the contents of both the Music and Movies directories. To be more accurate, Shared has the directory structure of both Music and Movies merged into one single directory, with symbolic links pointing to the actual files. So if you had files into Music/ATB, Shared would contain a folder named ATB, and this folder would contain links to the files in Music/ATB.

Anthill 0.3.0

Anthill 0.3.0

Anthill is bug tracking system written in PHP. more>>
Anthill is a PHP-based bug tracking system. It is no longer in active development. Because it is released under the GPL license, you may download and modify the code to your hearts content.

Anthill will not be developed by myself anytime in the near future. As a result, the demo and bug reporting facilities have been shut down and all that is available is for you to download the code. As well, the mailing lists have been shut down as well.

Because Anthill is no longer in active development, there will be no further releases, neither bugfix nor (if it were warranted) security fixes. For that reason, unless you intend to develop Anthill on your own and/or have some skills in PHP code, you may wish to find an alternative tracker.

GSpeakers is a loudspeaker design program designed for the Gnome desktop. more>>
GSpeakers is a loudspeaker design program designed for the Gnome desktop.

GSpeakers is built using the Gtkmm libraries (C++ wrapper for the Gtk+ libraries http://gtkmm.sf.net).

The reason I started to work on this program was that I could not find any other Gtk/Gnome based loudspeaker design program. The question I had to ask myself was: How can I make it easier to design loudspeakers?

GSpeakers aims to be easy to use but still powerful enough ful the experienced loudspeaker designer.

Irmo 1.2.0

Irmo 1.2.0

Irmo project is a generalized client-server multiplayer engine. more>>
Irmo project is a generalized client-server multiplayer engine provided in the form of a library. It can be used as a base for development of multiplayer games.

Games can be based on Irmo to add client-server multiplayer functionality simply and easily.

It is designed with fast-paced action games (eg. Quake) in mind, but there is no reason why it cannot be used for other styles of game. There is an example game called Irmoroids to demonstrate the library. You can download both from the Download page on Sourceforge.

Irmo is written in C and uses GLib 2 and GNU Flex. There is a language binding for Ruby and I am considering writing bindings for other high-level languages such as Guile Scheme.

evolution-rss 0.0.4

evolution-rss is a evolution RSS reader plugin. more>>
evolution-rss is a evolution RSS reader plugin.

This plugin adds RSS Feeds support for evolution mail. RSS support was built upon the somewhat existing RSS support in evolution-1.4 branch.

The motivation behind this was to have RSS in same place as mails, at this moment I do not see the point having a separate RSS reader since a RSS Article is like an email message. Probably thats the same reason for NNTP support in evolution.

At this time feeds Artiles are only displayed as summary (with html)

Gtk2::TrayIcon 0.03

Gtk2::TrayIcon 0.03

Gtk2::TrayIcon is a Perl interface to the EggTrayIcon library. more>>
Gtk2::TrayIcon is a Perl interface to the EggTrayIcon library.

SYNOPSIS

use Gtk2::TrayIcon;
Gtk2->init;

my $icon= Gtk2::TrayIcon->new("test");
my $label= Gtk2::Label->new("test");
$icon->add($label);
$icon->show_all;

Gtk2->main;

ABSTRACT

This module allows a Perl developer to embed an arbitrary widget in a System Tray like the Gnome notification area.

EggTrayIcon is slated for inclusion in Gtk+ at some point, which is the reason the Gtk2::TrayIcon namespace. As all egg libs, EggTrayIcon is not considered api stable and its not installed as a shared object.

Enough about what it is not, Gtk2::TrayIcon is first and foremost a simple way of giving a Gtk2 script access to the system tray.

System Trays are found in both KDE and Gnome. But neither support the spec fully (see below).

Gtk2::TrayIcon is a subclass of Gtk2::Plug and should be used as such.

Dungeon Inc 0.1

Dungeon Inc 0.1

DungeonInc is a realtime dungeon simulator. more>>
DungeonInc is a realtime dungeon simulator. The creatures living in the dungeon have their own will and the player can only interact to a certain extend.

Dungeon Incs goal is to gather as much valuables in your dungeon as you can. In order to accomplish that, youve to make it as comfortable as possible for your creatures while fending of attacks from the evil heroes looking for loot and fame.

Currently Im very busy with work and real life, so the project is not actively developed. Thats the main reason that this website exists. Im looking for people to continue the work on it, since I still like the idea. If youre interested in helping or taking over the project, please contact me.

Abakus 0.91

Abakus is a simple calculator for KDE, based on a concept of Roberto Alsinas. more>>
Abakus project is a simple calculator for KDE, based on a concept of Roberto Alsinas. Think of it as bc (the command-line calculator) with a nice GUI.
Main features:
- Roberto Alsinas UseCalc PyQt-based calculator.
- Zack Rusins Ruby-based calculator.
- Mine.
- Ariya Hiyadats SpeedCrunch, a pure Qt/C++ solution, which is closest in functionality to abakus. It doesnt use yacc or lex, making it a good choice if abakus cant build for your system for whatever reason.
Enhancements:
- Abakus supports the "," decimal separator correctly (both input and output).
- Show the most significant digits when an answer must be cut off due to space restrictions.
- Other minor stuff.

SIDEN 0.1.0

SIDEN 0.1.0

SIDEN is a distributed network discovery tool used for intrusion detection research. more>>
SIDEN is a distributed network discovery tool used for intrusion detection research. The current SIDEN architecture allows you to simulate coordinated/distributed network probes by a group of attackers.

SIDEN has been tested successfully on the OpenBSD and FreeBSD operating systems. If you try SIDEN and it works on any other platform, please contact me. Yes, it sounds interesting that I havent even tested it out on the popular Linux platform. There should be little reason why it wont work on other platforms (especially UNIX variants), since its fully implemented in Perl.

JSTUN 0.6.1

JSTUN 0.6.1

JSTUN is a STUN Through Network Address Translation implementation. more>>
JSTUN project is a java based STUN (Simple Traversal of User Datagram Protocol (UDP) Through Network Address Translation (NAT)) implementation. STUN provides applications a mean to discover the presence and type of firewalls or NATs between them and the public internet.
Additionally, in presence of a NAT STUN can be used by applications to learn the public Internet Protocol (IP) address assigned to the NAT.
So far, most of the message headers and attributes as standardized in RFC 3489 are part of "JSTUN". The current "JSTUN" version also includes a STUN-Client to discover firewalls and NATs. "JSTUN" is licensed unter GNU Gerneral Public License.
Version restrictions:
- Due to the lack of RFC compliant STUN servers I could not test the shared secret request / response functionality. Additionally, the message attribute username, password and message integrity are not tested for the same reason. The implementation of the message attribute message integrity is not completed, because I see no reason to add a cryptographic library as long as no public available STUN server supports message integrity.
- The reality is not as dark as it might seem after reading the previous section. All tested STUN servers provided a minimal set of functionality that is required to discover firewalls and NATs.
- If you find a bug or if you implement enhancements or additional functionalities please do not hesitate to contact me by email. A CVS account can be provided if required.
