Scalable OGo 0.9.0

Scalable OGo 0.9.0

Scalable OGo project (SOGo in short) is a groupware server built around the SOPE application server. more>>
Scalable OGo project (SOGo in short) is a groupware server built around the SOPE application server. Unlike OGo it is focused on scalability instead of depth in functionality. The web interface uses human readable URLs and can be accessed according to REST web service ideas. Notably it requires no server side session at all.

The server stores all internal data in the iCalendar format and therefore has no data model inconsistencies with native clients - it easily connects using GroupDAV connectors.

Scalable OpenGroupware.org is being developed since August 2004.

Important: SOGo is still in pre-alpha quality and is largely undocumented. We do not provide RPM or Debian packaging yet nor expect to be able to build the source without issues.

Gear

Gear

Gear project draws a gear in an open office drawing. more>>
Gear project draws a gear in an open office drawing.

You can then load the open office drawing and a nice looking gear is shown.

You can adapt the nr of tooth from the commandline, the shape of the tooth can be changed from the source.

How does it work?

I unzipped an open office drawing and looked how the lines in a file were made, then i automatically generated the lines into the content.xml file and zip the stuff again to make a valid document.

Isnt it great to have open formats (that are also well readable...)!!!

What is essential...

Well, in the archive that you got this program in, there is a odg directory this contains all the files that make up a valid OpenOffice drawing. The program should be run in a place where this odg directory is found...

example you unzipped this archive in a temp directory and now your file tree looks
like this : temp/gear/odg
then you should run the gear program from the temp/gear directory. .

well, it isnt that hard, you will figure it out...

Alphabet Soup project attempts to determine a number of things about the shapes of letters. more>>
Alphabet Soup project attempts to determine a number of things about the shapes of letters in several different writing systems.

First, it hypothesizes a set of basic building blocks that all letters are built up from.

Second, it hypothesizes a set of rules, a grammar or syntax, which defines how those pieces combine to make different letters.

It can generate individual letters, randomize letters in an input string to create weird but readable text, or generate random strings of symbols.

PHP firewall generator 2.0

PHP firewall generator 2.0

The PHP Firewall Generator is a simple PHP script that generates a firewall script for iptables or ipchains based firewalls. more>>
The PHP Firewall Generator is a simple PHP script that generates a firewall script for iptables or ipchains based firewalls. The script is created based on configuration rules entered by the user. The aim is to support a rule set similar to those supported by commercial Firewall systems, and make it easy to configure.

Make sure that you have apache and PHP installed (tested with apache-1.3.19-5 and php-4.0.4 from Red Hat 7.1 but shouldwork with others).

Make sure that PHP is actually running.
Make sure that you have iptables installed. Tested with iptables-1.2.1a-1 from Red Hat 7.1
Run this as root:
make install
If you dont have make installed on your system, then you could just run:
installme
Make sure that the files in /var/www/html/phpfwgen/ are readable by the HTTP daemon user (often httpd or apache) and that the files in /var/lib/phpfwgen are readable AND writeable by this user.
The script gets copied into /var/www/html/phpfwgen/ so you should be able to access it as http:// /phpfwgen/
Make sure that the files created in /var/lib/phpfwgen make sense, particularly the "interfaces" file.

MRTG-eth-probe provides a probe for the Multi Router Traffic Grapher. more>>
MRTG-eth-probe provides a probe for the Multi Router Traffic Grapher, generating statistics for network devices that do not support the SNMP protocol. It reads interface stats from /proc/net/dev (or some other file you configure), and generates an output readable for MRTG by parsing the file.
Since the starting of this project MRTG-eth-probe has been downloaded more than 1700 times (as of 2001-11-04). Thanks for this go first of all to Freshmeat for accepting the project and for redirecting so much people to my sourceforge projectpage Additional thanks go to Michael Feger for sending me a patch to 1.5.2 which makes up the most important changes of this release.
Enhancements:
- bugfix: missing dot

metalink 0.3.2

metalink 0.3.2

metalink is a utility to generate ed2k, magnet, and GNUnet links. more>>
Metalinks is an effort to promote the use of Peer to peer technology to aid web administrators in keeping their bandwidth down. metalink project defines a usable and simple way to share metadata in hash and digest forms using XML.
Data integrity is getting a larger problem on the net and trusted secure bandwidth is often limited. The solution is to use encryption to ensure the resulting data is correct, which enables you to pump the data through an unsecure connection with possible data corruption. Simple because it can be detected, the changes of going to work with the wrong file are very slim.
These metadata pointers can be used by modern P2P networks to identify and gather the right data, therefore the metadata XML record is a bit like a link. Hence the name metalinks.
The good thing about XML is that it is machine readable. Using XSLT we can also make this human readable. So, opening a metalinks record in your browser will result in a simple description of the file and P2P links you can click on.
After gathering the data, the integrity can be as securely checked as the amount of metadata that is available in the metalink XML record. This means that the reciever can check the SHA1, MD5, SHA512 and others provided in the record.
Enhancements:
- This release adds support for pieces, which is a list of hashes for parts of the file.
- The new hashlist option allows you to export all the hash information, which is good for integration and hash verification list generation.
