Le Petit Poucet 0.1.0

Le Petit Poucet 0.1.0

Le Petit Poucet is free software to display and edit GPS routes and tracks in a 3D scene. more>>
Le Petit Poucet is free software to display and edit GPS routes and tracks in a 3D scene. The aim of Le Petit Poucet is to build the scene around the GPS data and 2D maps or 3D terrain models.
Apart from being techies, we are outdoor sport lovers and want to prepare our outings and show them to our friends and families. We hope you will find Le Petit Poucet useful. The objective statement being laid, here is the reality and roadmap.
Current version is a pre-alpha version numbered 0.0.2, it is dedicated to David Thompson a great explorer of western Canada. He is been surveying the wild land for 28 years and he is the first person to complete a survey of the Columbia River.
Le Petit Poucet is now able to read a lot of GPS file formats and to connect to the GPS receivers thanks to GPSBabel. It is also able to mix coordinate systems in projected or earth centric referentials.
Currently. Le Petit Poucet is called from the terminal, see command line manual or type the -h or --help option to get the command line usage. We hope to provide quickly a graphical user interface. The program has been compiled and run on Linux (Intel) and Mac Os X (v 10.3), it should work on many other platforms as the core libraries (Open Scene Graph, GPSBabel and GDAL) are portable.
Main features:
Main features
- Loading of tracks or routes, independent waypoints and maps or terrain models and display them on a 3D scene.
- Support of many GPS data file formats through GPSBabel or custom parsers.
- Download GPS receiver data via Serial or USB port.
- 3D navigation based on continuous zoom, swivel and pan with excellent real time anti-aliasing.
- Mixing of several coordinate systems (e.g.: geocentric and projected, UTM and Lambert).
- Coordinate system selection from command line.
Tracks
- Tracks are shown as a set of track segments. Track segments are sets of waypoints connected with a line.
- Track segments are not connected but share the same color and input coordinate system.
- Multiple tracks are shown in a viewer, track color is automatically chosen to visually distinguish tracks.
Waypoints
- Waypoints are displayed as a 3D symbol plus a text in case of named waypoint.
- Name text is automatically oriented toward screen and font size is adjusted dynamically too.
- Text color is selected from command line
- Waypoint information (location, elevation and time) is displayed in a head up display (HUD) when mouse flies over the point.
- Waypoint symbol is loaded from file
- Feature points, i.e. point out of a track, are selected. Are shown only the ones that are in the area of the displayed maps and tracks.
Maps
- 2D Maps are displayed in 3D perspective with box subtrat.PC
- Map loading is currently only supported for the Carte Sur Table file format.
- Map elevation in the 3D scene is computed based on the minimum elevation of the loaded tracks to reduce perspective effects.
- For tracks without maps a box is displayed below the track to improve perspective.
- In the current version, loading of 3D terrain model is through Open Scene Graph (OSG). Models must be projected and optimized using OSG utilities like osgdem see Loading Blue Marble.
Enhancements:
- All the features of release 0.0.5 are now accessible from menus and dialog boxes.
- A graphical user interface is used to wrap the main functionality of the track viewer in 3D, such as opening and closing files; focusing and zooming on tracks, waypoints, or segments; and generating terrains from downloaded or local imagery.

RAVE 1.9.9

RAVE 1.9.9

RAVE (Retrospective Analysis and Visualization Engine) is a framework for generating complex analysis products. more>>
RAVE 1.9.9 is yet another excellent utility for everyone. RAVE stands for Retrospective Analysis and Visualization Engine which is a framework for generating complex analysis products.

RAVE caches the intermediate results of analytic tasks for later use in the same or different analyses. This improves performance by reducing duplicated effort when generating analytic results. RAVE users need to do nothing special in order to take advantage of this performance improvement.

The RAVE project provides tools to use RAVE interactively in a terminal, or to publish "live" RAVE analyses online as a network service for use in network-enabled applications.

CERT/NetSA has deployed RAVE to support analysis using the SiLK suite of flow analysis tools. They also distribute the libraries created to perform common flow analysis tasks using SiLK, such as efficiently using pipe-and-filter-based command-line tools from Python, dealing with heterogeneous data sources and efficiently retrieving time-series data.

Requirements:

  • Python 2.4 or higher

Lewin Pongs 1.0

Lewin Pongs 1.0

Lewin Pongs is an advanced game of pong. more>>
Lewin Pongs is an advanced game of pong.

An advanced game of pong with lots of options. A ball bounces around the screen and you hit it with paddles.

If you miss, your opponent scores, if your opponent misses, you score.

PONG, an adaptation of table tennis to the video screen, was the first commercially successful video game and is widely regarded as ushering in the video game era.

PONG was released by Atari on November 29, 1972.

PONG is a basic simulation of the racket sport of table tennis. A small square representing a ping pong ball travels across the screen in a linear trajectory. If the square strikes the perimeter of the playing field, or one of the simulated paddles, the square ricochets based on the angle of the impact.

Game play consists of players moving their respective paddles vertically to defend their scoring zones. Players score one point by maneuvering the square past their opponents paddle.

PONG can be played either by a single player pitted against a computerized opponent, or by two players each controlling a paddle. In Ataris original PONG arcade cabinets, players controlled their paddles using one of two small paddle controllers (a knob-like input device). Contrastingly, several of the derivative table tennis simulations employed longitudinally-sliding joysticks.

Snort::Rule 1.03

Snort::Rule 1.03

Snort::Rule is a Perl extension for dynamically building snort rules. more>>
Snort::Rule is a Perl extension for dynamically building snort rules.

SYNOPSIS

use Snort::Rule;
$rule = Snort::Rule->new(
-action => alert,
-proto => tcp,
-src => any,
-sport => any,
-dir => ->,
-dst => 192.188.1.1,
-dport => 44444,
);

$rule->opts(msg,Test Rule");
$rule->opts(threshold,type limit,track by_src,count 1,seconds 3600);
$rule->opts(sid,500000);

print $rule->string()."n";

OR

$rule = alert tcp $SMTP_SERVERS any -> $EXTERNAL_NET 25 (msg:"BLEEDING-EDGE POLICY SMTP US Top Secret PROPIN"; flow:to_server,established; content:"Subject|3A|"; pcre:"/(TOPsSECRET|TS)//[sw,/-]*PROPIN[sw,/-]*(?=//(25)?X[1-9])/ism"; classtype:policy-violation; sid:2002448; rev:1;);

$rule = Snort::Rule->new(-parse => $rule);
print $rule->string()."n";

This is a very simple snort rule object. It was developed to allow for scripted dynamic rule creation. Ideally you could dynamically take a list of bad hosts and build an array of snort rule objects from that list. Then write that list using the string() method to a snort rules file.

ProM 4.0

ProM 4.0

ProM is a new era in process mining tool support. more>>
ProM is a new era in process mining tool support.
Process Mining research is concerned with the extraction of knowledge about a (business) process from its process execution logs. Process Mining strives to gain insight into various perspectives, such as the process (or control flow) perspective, the performance, data, and organizational perspective (The processmining.org web site has more in-depth information and scientific publications available).
ProM is an extensible framework that supports a wide variety of process mining techniques in the form of plug-ins. It is platform independent as it is implemented in Java, and can be downloaded free of charge. We welcome and support practical applications of ProM! Note that the ProM framework is issued under an open source license, namely the Common Public License (CPL), and we invite researchers and developers to contribute in the form of new plug-ins.
Currently, there are already more than 90 plug-ins available, and we support the import of (and the conversion between) several process modelling languages, such as:
- Petri nets (PNML, TPN)
- EPCs / EPKs (Aris graph format, EPML)
- YAWL
- (and many more)
There are mining plugins, such as:
- Plugins supporting control-flow mining techniques (such as the Alpha algorithm, Genetic mining, Multi-phase mining, ...)
- Plugins analysing the organizational perspective (such as the Social Network miner, the Staff Assignment miner, ...)
- Plugins dealing with the data perspective (such as the Decision miner, ...)
(and many more)
Furthermore, there are analysis plugins dealing with:
- The verification of process models (e.g., Woflan analysis)
- Verification of Linear Temporal Logic (LTL) formulas on a log
- Checking the conformance between a given process model and a log
- Performance analysis (Basic statistical analysis, and Performance Analysis with a given process model)
- Finally, ProM sports a large array of log filters, which are a valuable tool for cleaning logs from undesired, or unimportant, artefacts.
Enhancements:
- This release features fundamental framework improvements and the addition of a major set of new plugins.
- The performance of log reading has been improved dramatically, introducing live modification of logs and random access.
- More than 70 newly added plugins substantially extend the analysis feature set.

Konversation 1.0.1

Konversation 1.0.1

Konversation is a user friendly Internet Relay Chat client. more>>
Konversation project is a user friendly Internet Relay Chat client.
Enhancements:
- A bug that caused left-to-right text contained in lines determined to be right-to-left text to appear reversed has been fixed.
- Whether a line is treated as right-to-left vs. left-to-right text is now determined by the amount of each type of character in the line, improving the user experience in chats involving bi-directional text considerably.
- The "Edit Network" dialog has been refined for clarity and ease of use.
- A warning dialog to prevent accidentally quitting Konversation has been added.
- The Auto Replace list can now be sorted.
- The /media script command now sports improved player recognition, enhanced and easier configurability, the ability to distinguish between audio and video media as well as newly added support for kdetv. New /audio and /video command aliases have been added to expose these new abilities.
- The lower boundary of the default DCC port range has been raised from 1025 to 1026 to avoid conflicts with the commonly blocked Windows RPC port 1025.
- Dismissing an OSD notification by clicking on it will now also cancel the systray notification flash.
- A new configuration file option [OSD]OSDCheckDesktopLock has been added, allowing to manually disable the screensaver check in non-KDE environments that do not support it, causing the OSD not to be displayed.
- A bug that could lead to the "Switch to" sub-menu in the context menus of tabs not to be updated properly upon switching tabs has been fixed.
- A bug that caused the irc setBack DCOP call not to function has been fixed.
- A bug that caused ampersands in the names of tabs not to be displayed and an immediately following character to be used as keyboard accelerator has been fixed.
- A bug that caused ignoring nicknames with [ or ] characters in them to fail has been fixed.
- Command aliases containing regular expression syntax can no longer cause built-in commands not to function.
- A bug that caused the Konversation irc:// protocol handler not to function has been fixed. Its compatibility with systems that do not use the GNU bash shell as default shell has been improved.
- A notable number of code quality improvements suggested by KDEs automated quality control service EBN have been implemented.

etherdump 2.01

etherdump 2.01

etherdump project is a very small and efficient ethernet sniffer. more>>
etherdump project is a very small and efficient ethernet sniffer.
EtherDump is a fork by Peter Willis of ipdump2-pre1 (by Christophe Devine) with a few small improvements and feature add-ons with the end result being able to stream raw frames over a network and eventually convert them into pcap format and import into a pcap-reading prog of your choice (I personally love Ethereal).
Pretty simple use; just run the prog with no arguments and you will get the usage instructions. Log a session to a file using ASCII hex dump and when you are done run `text2pcap hex_dump pcap_file and read `pcap_file with Ethereal or another libpcap-aware program.
Since version 2.01 EtherDump supports some minimal packet filtering rules. Some of the rules you can use are "proto" or "protocol", "sport" or "sourceport", "dport" or "destinationport", "src" or "source", and "dst" or "destination". You can also give "!" or "not" to negate a particular rule.
If you execute EtherDump from a symlink named "tcpdump", the default print out method is tcpdump-like.
On uClibc the compiled size is ~8kB so this is very well suited for embedded systems where you want to debug a network interface but dont have room for a whole libpcap+application_layer program. Instead just combine netcat or a CGI script + httpd with EtherDump and read the traffic (converted to pcap) on another machine on the network.
Enhancements:
- Changes by Peter Willis since 2.0:
- Changed configuration option to reflect new name is "etherdump", not "packetdump". -p is now -e.
- Added basic [ipv4] filtering rules.
- Improved tcpdump output.
- If etherdump was run as a program named tcpdump, defaults to tcpdump-like output.
- Added -i to specify interface.
- If EtherDump is executed as "tcpdump", tcpdump-like output is the default output type.

SportsTracker 2.5.1

SportsTracker 2.5.1

SportsTracker is an application for recording sporting activities. more>>
SportsTracker is an application for people which want to record their sporting activities. SportsTracker is not bound to a specific kind of sport, the user can create categories for all sport types which are endurance related, such as cycling, running or swimming.

The main advantage is a good overview of your exercises and you can easily create diagrams and statistics for specific time ranges and sport types.

If you own a heartrate monitor with a computer interface you can organize the recorded exercise files by attaching them to the exercise entries and view them on demand. You can also import the data from the exercise files. Users of a Polar device should install PolarViewer for this feature.

All the application data is stored in XML files. So it should be easy to access it with other tools or to write importers and exporters for other applications.
