File::Spec::Mac 3.25
File::Spec::Mac Perl module contains File::Spec for Mac OS (Classic). more>>
SYNOPSIS
require File::Spec::Mac; # Done internally by File::Spec if needed
Methods for manipulating file specifications.
METHODS
canonpath
On Mac OS, theres nothing to be done. Returns what its given.
catdir()
Concatenate two or more directory names to form a path separated by colons (":") ending with a directory. Resulting paths are relative by default, but can be forced to be absolute (but avoid this, see below). Automatically puts a trailing ":" on the end of the complete path, because thats whats done in MacPerls environment and helps to distinguish a file path from a directory path.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Beginning with version 1.3 of this module, the resulting path is relative by default and not absolute. This decision was made due to portability reasons. Since File::Spec->catdir() returns relative paths on all other operating systems, it will now also follow this convention on Mac OS. Note that this may break some existing scripts.
The intended purpose of this routine is to concatenate directory names. But because of the nature of Macintosh paths, some additional possibilities are allowed to make using this routine give reasonable results for some common situations. In other words, you are also allowed to concatenate paths instead of directory names (strictly speaking, a string like ":a" is a path, but not a name, since it contains a punctuation character ":").
So, beside calls like
catdir("a") = ":a:"
catdir("a","b") = ":a:b:"
catdir() = "" (special case)
calls like the following
catdir(":a:") = ":a:"
catdir(":a","b") = ":a:b:"
catdir(":a:","b") = ":a:b:"
catdir(":a:",":b:") = ":a:b:"
catdir(":") = ":"
are allowed.

X-files 1.43
X-Files is a graphical file management program. more>>
X-Files is a graphical file management program for Unix/X-Window environment. It was inspired by the Amiga program DirWork.
This application differs slightly from the main stream file managers in that it has always only one window. On top (or bottom) of the window you have ActionbuttonsTM -area. Other main areas are the two directory listings for file related actions. You can use quick pop-up menu for basic operations. File extensions can be configured to launch any program you desire for that file.
The appearance and functionality can be fully configured according to your taste using the built-in editors.
Tested on: Intel Linux, DEC Alpha, SGI, HP-UX, Solaris
(Should work on any Unix-machine running Tcl/Tk.)

File 4.21
File attempts to classify files depending on their contents and prints a description if a match is found. more>>
File is the open source implementation of the file command used on almost every free operating system (OpenBSD, Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD) and also on systems that use free software (including OS/2, DOS, MS Windows, etc.).
The file command, if youre not familiar with it, is a command-line tool that tells you in words what kind of data a file contains. Unlike MS-Windows, UNIX and other systems dont rely on filename extentions to tell you the type of a file, but look at the files actual contents. This is, of course, more reliable, but requires a bit of I/O.
The original file command shipped with Bell Labs UNIX but was unavailable in source form to the masses before Ians reimplementation.
This file command (and magic file) was originally written by Ian Darwin (who still contributes occasionally) and is now maintained by a group of developers lead by Christos Zoulas.
Whos using it?
Every known BSD distribution (FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, Darwin/Mac OS X, etc)
Every known Linux distribution
The Apache httpd server mod_mime_magic module uses the file commands innards to make file type guessing more reliable under Apache HTTPD.

AntiDialer 0.2
Antidialer is a GUI based broadband dialer program for users of Sify Broadband using Linux. more>>
Antidialer is a GUI based broadband dialer program for users of Sify Broadband using Linux. Well, Antidialer is not a cracking tool as the name suggests.
It is very much incomplete in the sense that it doesnt quite have the full feature set that the dialer provided by Sify for Windows has.
But it still does its job of connecting and disconnecting your internet whenever you want.
Main features:
- QT based GUI :-) (absent in the stock dialer provided by Sify)
- AutoConnect
- Encrypted password storage
- HeartBeat to keep connection alive
- XML based configuration file
Enhancements:
- MAC address spoofing is now part of the dialer.
- It can be activated by editing the $HOME/.antidialer/antidialerrc configuraton file and entering the desired MAC address in the "value" property of the "MacAddress" element.
- The dialer now adds missing configuration elements into the config file.
- The plugin framework is now cleaner and faster.
- An obscure bug where the dialer crashed when exactly one config element was missing was fixed.

Easy various links manager 0.10
Easy various links manager or Everest Linux Links Manager (evlinks) is a network manager and config toolkit. more>>
Easy various links manager or Everest Linux Links Manager (evlinks) is a network manager and config toolkit that aims to replace network services and networkmanager.
Tthe design of evlinks:
1. use mac address as config file names to avoid interface name change.
2. multi profile support, for example, you can have a setting for Office and another setting for home.
3. never display info such as "eth0/wlan0/ath0" to users. what is the meaning of this strange words for normal user?
4. coupled loosely, if any component of evlinks crash or can not work, others works very well.
5. policy support: for example, whether start wired at booting time, whether start wireless at booting time, offline or online, if wired line unpluged, shall we switch to wireless?
The components of evlinks:
1. evlinkslo/evlinksboot:
run at system booting.
enable loopback and other interfaces according to config file.
2. evlinksiw, wireless config tool
3. evlinkswireless, a wrapper for evlinksiw to handle multiple wireless adapters. if you only have one wireless adapter, it will start evlinksiw directly.
4. evlinksw, wired config tool, support multiple profiles.
5. evlinkswired, same as evlinkswireless, a wrapper for evlinksw to handle multiple wired adapter.
6. evlinksmonitor, a hal client to monitor the adapter changes. since it use hal, then we can catch the signal when new adapter plugged and removed.
7. evlinkstraffic, network traffic monitor. used in evlinksmonitor and evlinkspppoe.
8. evlinkspppoe, PPPoE clients, used to connect ADSL(no PPPoA support)
9. evlinksdispatcher and evlinksrun. dirty code to help normal user run it easily.that is to say, normal user use evlinksrun to call evlinks utils, they all run as super user. it is not a good design, also had security problem, need change later.

AVFS 0.9.8
AVFS is a system, which enables all programs to look inside gzip, tar, zip, etc. files. more>>
AVFS is a system, which enables all programs to look inside gzip, tar, zip, etc. files or view remote (ftp, http, dav, etc.) files, without recompiling the programs.
It currently supports floppies, tar and gzip files, zip, bzip2, ar and rar files, ftp sessions, http, webdav, rsh/rcp, ssh/scp. Quite a few other handlers are implemented with the Midnight Commanders external FS.
AVFS can be installed in two ways. These are:
Avfscoda
This method in theory works on any Linux system which has the
coda filesystem compiled in the kernel or as a kernel module.
In practice it works best with glibc-6.1 or higher, and it has
been tested on 2.2.X and 2.4.X kernels.
Preload
Currently this works on solaris systems. There are problems
making the preload method work for GLIBC version 6.1 or
higher, so systems using GLIBC are not supported.
Using AVFS is very similar in both cases. Differences will be indicated.
The installation method is different. For installation instructions
see the files INSTALL.preload and INSTALL.avfscoda respectively.
Enhancements:
- utar supports long names in POSIX ustar archives
- fixed truncation of 100 byte long file names in tar archive
- fixed crash in zlib code
- fixed deadlock in extfs code
- updated bzlib to 1.0.3
- updated avfsd to use fuse API version 26
several extfs fixes:
- fixed ucpio script
- fixed bug in extfs symlink handling (patch from Tanmoy Bhattacharya)
- fixed ftplist to output correct symlinks and to support http/ssh (patch from Tanmoy Bhattacharya)
- extfs scripts rpm and trpm outputs correct file sizes (important for fuse) (patch from Tanmoy Bhattacharya)
- ftppass/davpass checks for additional base avfs directories. Environment variable AVFSBASE can be set for non-default directory. (patch from Tanmoy Bhattacharya)
- ftp module supports @ in usernames (patch from Tanmoy Bhattacharya)
- the avfs library is built and installed by default additionally to fuse/avfscoda/preload depending on the actual system
- added RPM spec file for avfs-fuse (patch from Tanmoy Bhattacharya)

jVSTwRapper 0.9e
jVSTwRapper is an easy and reliable Java Wrapper for Steinbergs VST interface. more>>
jVSTwRapper is an easy and reliable Java Wrapper for Steinbergs VST interface. The project enables you to develop VST 2.4 compatible audio plugins and virtual instruments plus user interfaces with the Java Programming Language on Windows, Linux and Mac OSX. Three Demo Plugins (+src) are included!
HOW IT WORKS
The Steinberg VST SDK is a free set of C++ classes to develop vst plugins for realtime dsp processing. The jVSTwRapper uses this classes and makes it possible to
develop VST plugins with the Java programming language
It delegates the calls from the VST host system to an java interface and vice versa. So all you have to do is to write a java class which implements the wrapper interface and implement the audio algorithm. Providing a user interface for your audio plugin is done in exacly the same way.
The jVSTwRapper also enables you to write platform independent (mac/win/linux) vst plugins. The same files run, without any additional effort (no need for recompilation, no platform specific GUI, etc.) on all platforms
Installation:
- If you dont have java, get it from [http://www.java.com]
- Make sure that you have a correctly installed Java Virtual Machine >= v1.3. To see which version you have, type "java -version" on a commandline window
- Download the latest relase (make sure to select the right platform) as a *.zip file and extract it to your audio apps plugins folder. e.g. /VSTPlugins in Cubase. or /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST on Mac OSX
- Start your audio app and enjoy the jDelay demo plugin!
Enhancements:
- This release introduces full LADSPA support: all VST effect plugins are automatically exported as LADSPA plugins as well. No additional configuration or anything else is required. Please see the readme file for details
- Custom GUI support for Linux is available in this release. Now, Java Swing GUIs can be used as custom GUIs for Linux, Windows and Mac OSX
- .ini file parser bugfix
- Mac: Custom GUI works now, BUT you need at least Java 1.5.0_06 installed on your system!
- Mac: bundle has now its own icon
- New testsuite: discovered a lot of minor bugs code cleanup
