Zope is an open source web application server primarily written in the Python programming language. Zope features a transactional object database which can store not only content and custom data, but also dynamic HTML templates, scripts, a search engine, and relational database (RDBMS) connections and code.

It features a strong through-the-web development model, allowing you to update your web site from anywhere in the world. To allow for this, Zope also features a tightly integrated security model. Built around the concept of "safe delegation of control", Zopes security architecture also allows you to turn control over parts of a web site to other organizations or individuals.

The transactional model applies not only to Zopes object database, but to many relational database connectors as well, allowing for strong data integrity. This transaction model happens automatically, ensuring that all data is successfully stored in connected data sources by the time a response is returned to a web browser or other client.

There are numerous products (plug-in Zope components) available for download to extend the basic set of site building tools. These products include new content objects; relational database and other external data source connectors; advanced content management tools; and full applications for e-commerce, content and document management, or bug and issue tracking.

Zope includes its own HTTP, FTP, WebDAV, and XML-RPC serving capabilities, but can also be used with the Apache or other web servers.

Nagios (formerly Netsaint) is a daemon written in C that is designed to monitor networked hosts and services.
Nagios project has the ability to notify contacts (via email, pager or other methods) when problems arise and are resolved. Host and service checks are performed by external "plugins", making it easy to write custom checks in your language of choice.
Several CGIs are included in order to allow you to view the current and historical status via a Web browser, and a WAP interface is also provided to allow you to acknowlege problems and disable notifications from an internet-ready cellphone.

Afick is a security tool, very close from the well known tripwire. It allows to monitor the changes on your files systems, and so can detect intrusions.

PyGTK provides a convenient wrapper for the GTK+ library for use in Python programs, taking care of many of the boring details such as managing memory and type casting. When combined with PyORBit and gnome-python, it can be used to write full featured Gnome applications.

GTK+ is a GUI toolkit for developing graphical applications that run on POSIX systems such as Linux, Windows and MacOS X (provided that an X server for MacOS X has been installed). GTK+ provides a comprehensive set of widgets, and supports Unicode and bidirectional text. It links into the Gnome Accessibility Framework through the ATK library.

Python is an interpreted, interactive, object-oriented programming language. It is often compared to Tcl, Perl, Scheme or Java. Python combines remarkable power with very clear syntax. It has modules, classes, exceptions, very high level dynamic data types, and dynamic typing.

The current version of PyGTK requires GTK+ >= 2.0 and Python >= 2.2 to build.

Like the GTK+ library itself PyGTK is licensed under the GNU LGPL, so is suitable for use in both free software and proprietary applications. It is already in use in many applications ranging from small single purpose scripts up to large full features applications.

KMyIRC provides an IRC client for KDE which strives to be useful and easy without being bloated.
It was created because it was felt that the other KDE-based IRC clients were either not user-friendly or burdened with features that are not useful to the average IRC user.

Danpei is a Gtk+ based Image Viewer, works on X-Window system.
Danpei allows you to browse through your image files in thumbnail form, and it can rename, cut, and paste them easily with an interface similar to that of Windows Explorer.
It is distributed under the GNU General Public License.
