odf-converter-integrator 0.2.3

odf-converter-integrator 0.2.3

An easy way to open Microsoft Office 2007 files more>>
odf-converter-integrator 0.2.3 offers users an easy way to open Microsoft Office 2007 files (also called Office Open XML, .xlsx, .docx and .pptx) with a high-quality conversion on any Linux or Windows system in any OpenOffice.org.

Major Features:

  1. odf-converter-integrator uses the high-quality odf-converter code (which converts between Office Open XML and OpenDocument) as packaged by Novell and integrates it into the operating system.
  2. When you click on a .docx/.xlsx/.pptx file on a web page, in an email attachment, or your desktop, odf-converter-integrator springs into action, converts the .docx/.xlsx/.pptx to an .odt/.ods/.odp, and then automatically opens the new document in OpenOffice.org, StarOffice, Abiword, KWord, Gnumeric, Microsoft Office 2003, or whatever is your default ODF editor.
  3. odf-converter-integrator is simply a little glue to overcomes the integration limitation of the Novell odf-converter, which cannot integrate into most editions of OpenOffice.org (such as the vanilla/Sun Microsystems edition, Fedora, OxygenOffice, and others).

Enhancements: This release fixes a bug that prevented conversion of any .xlsx files on Linux.

Seismic Toolkit 0.69a

Seismic Toolkit 0.69a

Seismic Toolkit is a tool for processing and displaying seismic signal data in a graphical interface. more>>
Seismic Toolkit 0.69a is designed to be a tool for processing and displaying seismic signal data in a graphical interface. Plot SAC ASCII and SAC_BIN data format, with zoom, unzoom, plot channel by channel, or plot all channel (until 2000, tested with 125).

Filtering the data: all filters are causal recursive IFR (Infinite Impulse Response) written using the bilinear Z-transform in the time domain. Their conception using a few number of coefficients gives them very fast with a low memory cost.

The adaptation factor of frequency warrants no deformation in the frequency domain of the transfer function. The main filters used are the following: Butterworth High-Pass and Low-Pass (n order), Farrer 10s-6s Low-Pass (a combination of rejector and Low-Pass specially designed for removing oceanic noise), Integrator, Derivator, Integrator with cut-off frequency, Derivator with cut-off frequency, Trend removing, Rejector (n-order), Envelop with Hilbert (not recursive at all), compensator of (n-order), Polynomial filter (n-order, not recursive at all ).

Major Functions:

  1. Data plotting : channel by channel, all channels, zoom, unzoom, unfilter, instantaneous time and amplitude information with mouse pointer.
  2. Fourier domain: Power Spectral Density (PSD) in linear-linear, log-log axes; independent windows for each channel, instantaneous frequency and amplitude information with mouse pointer, zoom, unzoom of spectra. Dirac, Hilbert transform, Time-Frequency representation (tested until 1 million of points per channel on 3 channels.
  3. Polarization : easy and fast particule motion representation in both horizontal plane and incidence plane, with automatic computation of best direction with eigen vectors of the covariance matrix. Display of linearity and planearity coefficient.

Enhancements:

  • New package (.deb) for Debian - Ubuntu
  • New package (.dmg) for MAC OSX 10.4 (Tiger)
  • Add function Derivator _Fc (a derivator with a cutting frequency
  • Impose : setlocale(LC_ALL,"C") to avoid regional setting as decimal separator;

Single Source information Server provides a set of applets for sharing information from a single source.
The Single Source Infomation Server is a suite of applets designed to share information from a single source, a set of MySQL tables, with as many other systems as possible, starting with PHP, Palm OS PDAs, LDAP, and WAP.
The first part of this project will create a set of PHP pages to edit the information inside a simple set of tables.
This will be the first bi-directional applet (DONE). Following on from there will the ability to export some of this data into a format that can be used by the file link feature in HotSync (DONE), a bi-directional PDA sync (DONE) and by an LDAP server applet, the ability to print single address labels onto a Dymo / CoStar label printer, print envelopes and create a mail-merge export for letters.
If we can work out or get the spec, we will write a QuickBooks timer export for the datebook, and allow import/export of vCal, iCal and vCards.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes a number of bugs and adds some new functionality, includine LDAP.
- After this release we will be making a major re-write to the coldsync conduits, so the next release will be an alpha release of Version 0.2

Enterprise Sign On Engine 0.3

Enterprise Sign On Engine 0.3

Enterprise Sign On Engine is an advanced system which allows an enterprise to meet its individual goals... more>>
Enterprise Sign On Engine (ESOE) is an advanced system which allows an enterprise to meet its individual goals for integrated identity management, federation, single sign on, authorization and accountability for resource access in a very extensible manner.
The ESOE is built using the OASIS SAML 2.0 specification, and the ESOEs powerful authorization engine is built around a reduced version of the OASIS XACML 2.0 standard which we have called Lightweight eXtensible Authorization Control Markup Language or "LXACML".
The ESOE can integrate identity from unlimited repositories, automatically create sessions for users whom are logged into Active Directory (true single sign on), provide for centralized authorization policy management and natively federate with technologies such as Shibboleth and OpenID.
We hope youll find the ESOE a good choice for your needs amongst the wide variety of SSO solutions that are available, both from commercial providers and other open source projects. Of course if youre already using an SSO solution, there is a pretty good chance the ESOE can interact with it, allowing you to use the enhanced capabilities of the ESOE without needing to replace everything you already have.
Being heavily standards based, all your existing identity infrastructure such as LDAP compliant directories, databases and even flat files are only a plugin away. The ESOE is designed to fit around your environment, not have your environment change to fit it.
Were calling the current release an Alpha and some of the service providers, tools and documentation are still coming up to full completion. Nonetheless, we hope youll have a look around at what the ESOE can do for your enterprise and contribute back anything you can to help us build a strong community of users for the future.
Enhancements:
- Many bugfixes have gone into this release specifically relating to MySQL deployments.
- New features for this release are integrators for Confluence, Jira, and Blackboard.

Cell Electrophysiology Simulation Environment 1.4.6

Cell Electrophysiology Simulation Environment 1.4.6

Cell Electrophysiology Simulation Environment is a simulation environment for electrophysiology. more>>
Cell Electrophysiology Simulation Environment (CESE) is a comprehensive framework specifically designed to perform computational electrophysiological simulations, for example, simulations of cardiac myocyte electrical activity.
Cell Electrophysiology Simulation Environment is useful for simulations of action potentials, individual ionic currents, and changes in ionic concentrations.
CESE is a cross-platform program, it runs on any system that has Java runtime environment (JRE) version 1.4 or above. It was tested on Windows, Linux, Solaris, MacOS X, and AIX.
CESE users
CESE is an integrated environment for performing computational simulations using a variety of electrophysiological models.
At this stage CESE allows creation and execution of the single-cell models (containing both Hodgkin-Huxley (HH) and Markovian current formulations). Models of electrical activity of cardiac myocytes with source code are included in the CESE distribution. We hope to extend the number of available models, and add certain neuronal models in the future.
The main strength of CESE is in its uniformity ? a program interface remains the same for different types of models. You can easily switch between models and compare simulation outputs. Model parameters can be modified, selected for output and/or clamped in the same, standard way.
CESE extends the conventional electrophysiological meaning of the "voltage clamp". You can clamp virtually any model variable, including voltage (membrane potential), total or individual ionic currents, ionic concentrations, temperature, gating variables, etc. The clamping commands can be complex piece-wise functions, individually set for the model variable of interest. This opens endless possibilities for the exploration of complex model behavior.
CESE provides simple, but efficient data visualizations. Simulation results can be presented in the graphic and tabulated forms. Plots can be customized, and regions of interest zoomed.
Even though CESE was not designed to be a data analysis tool, you can generate current-voltage relationships (I-Vs) and calculate statistical parameters for a given signal within the program. You can export your data to ASCII, Axon Text File (ATF), and NetCDF formats to continue analysis in your favorite package.
CESE developers
CESE was created from the ground up to incorporate the best programming practices available to Java developers, both in terms of user interface consistency and code clarity and reuse. Wherever possible, CESE rely on available Java APIs (for example Java2D, JavaBeans, JAXP) to simplify the code.
Model creation requires a number of house-keeping functions to be coded ? these include ODE integrators, routines for handling model parameters, saving/restoring model state, visualizing simulation results, etc. CESE provides you with implementation for these routines, hence, you can concentrate on writing the code for concrete ionic current(s), and CESE will handle the rest.
CESE is not trying to create complicated programming frameworks on its own ? rather, it utilizes core Java APIs. For example, models are Java components conforming to the JavaBeans specification. We use XML to specify clamping commands, and Java object serialization to save/restore model parameters.
Enhancements:
- This release improves results printing, adds export to the scalable vector graphics (SVG) format, improves support for continuous simulations, and fixes many bugs in plot rendering and model switching.

Mantissa 7.0

Mantissa 7.0

Mantissa is a collection of various mathematical tools aimed towards for simulation. more>>
Mantissa is a collection of various mathematical tools aimed towards for simulation.
Mantissa contains a collection of algorithms, among which:
a small set of linear algebra classes
a least squares estimator
some curve fitting classes
several ordinary differentials equations integrators, either with fixed steps or adaptive stepsize control (see below)
vectors and rotations in a three dimensional space
algebra-related classes like rational and double polynomials
various orthogonal polynomials:
Chebyshev
Hermite
Laguerre
Legendre
some random numbers and vectors generation classes:
Robert M. Ziff four tap shift register (contributed by Bill Maier)
Makoto Matsumoto and Takuji Nishimura Mersenne twister
generators for vectors with correlated components
some basic (min, max, mean, standard deviation) statistical analysis classes
some optimization algorithms using direct search methods:
the Nelder-Mead simplex method
Virginia Torczons multi-directional method
Enhancements:
- For many basic objects provided by Mantissa like Vector3D, Rotation, and the various Polynomial classes, instances are now guaranteed to be immutable.
- This greatly simplifies safe sharing of instances without forcing users to either put severe restrictions on their use of Mantissa classes or make numerous copies just to make sure everything is safe.
- Since the change is a semantic change on the contract of the classes, this version introduces some incompatibilities with respect to previous ones.
- Upgrading to this version is not difficult, though.
