QuickJoin project implements a heuristic for speeding up neighbour joining, making neighbour joining feasible for large sets of taxa. The inferred tree is identical to the tree inferred by the traditional neighbour joining method, but the heuristic will (potentially) construct the tree significantly faster.
Usage:
The QuickJoin program, qjoin reads a distance matrix in phylip format from an input file or stdin, and output the inferred tree, in newick format, to a file or stdout. Run qjoin --help for more info.
Installation:
From Source
The QuickJoin package is written in C++. It should compile on any Unix like system. To install the package, download the source code and unpack it (tar xzf quick-join-a.b.c.tar.gz, where a.b.c is the version number of quick-join), then run configure and make in the subdirectory quick-join-a.b.c created during unpacking. This creates the QuickJoin program, qjoin together with a number of test programs. To check that everything went right, run make check. If all tests pass, install the qjoin program by running make install. Read the INSTALL file for more info.
From Binary
Currently, the only binary distribution is in RPM packages. Other formats might appear, if I am asked to build them (and told how to...). To install, download the file and run rpm -U quick-join-version.arch.rpm.

Quick Order provides an ordering system using Java Wireless HTTP Form.
It uses J2ME libraries to submit forms to an HTTP server running PHP and MySQL. It can run on any embedded device that supports Java Wireless, including mobile phones and Palm systems.
It is ideal for making orders in restaurants, point of sale (POS), etc. It supports English and Chinese Big 5 encoding.
Enhancements:
- PASP is used for the server-side language font.
- An HTTP POST method was added to the server.
- A vector is used to allow flexibility of ordered items.

Quick.Cms.Lite is a fast, simple, and multilingual content management system. It is based on flat files and does not require a SQL database.
It supports full administration for pages, subpages, photos, and files.
This application is based on the flat files database, like our other projects. Useful for web page designers, web page programmers and also, for those who just want to manage their own web page.
A Tool which makes work on the web side simple and easy, because it allows everyone who logs in to administration, to manage it. Our experiences with clients helped us to create web administration which is simple for everyone to edit it, add and delete pages, subpages, pictures and files.

iqr is a simulation system for graphically designing and controlling large-scale neuronal models.

iqr is a tool for creating and running simulations of large-scale neural networks.

Via iqrs graphical user interface (GUI) the user can:

- design the system
- control the running of the simulation
- change parameters of the model at run-time

Since connectivity between groups of neurons is a cornerstone in modeling, iqr provides flexible, yet easy to use and compact methods to define a wide variety of connectivity patterns.

A browser on the left side of the main window allows quick access to elements of the model. Diagrams can be printed or saved.

iqr offers multiple tools to monitor and interact with states of the models elements. Data acquisition includes frequency and duration sampling, and states of selected elements can be saved via the Data Sampler. Models in iqr are stored in a format based on the XML standard, and can thus be transformed to a wide range of other description grammars for neuronal models.

iqr comes with a wide range of pre-defined interfaces to hardware devices. They include modules to control Khepera and Koala robots (K-Team S.A., Lausanne), Lego MindStorms, and the blimp robot used in the AMOTH project. Modules can be run synchronized, or in their own thread, independent of the update speed of the main simulation.

Simulations in the iqr run at a speed sufficient for real-time control of robots. The data shown below was acquired on an AMD Athlon 1GHz, 768MB RAM using linear threshold neurons.

mod_uid is a module issuing the "correct" cookies for counting the site visitors.
Enhancements:
What it actually does:
- if the user has provided the cookie header with the correct cookie-name, the module writes this cookie in notes with the name uid_got (accordingly, then it may be written to the log);
- if the user has arrived without the required cookie, the module issues the SetCookie header for him/her and writes the cookie thus issued in notes with the name uid_set (and this may also be written to the log);
- if built-in P3P support is included, the P3P header is also issued as the Set-Cookie header is issued.
Advantages:
- the cookie contains the date it is issued and the "service number" (that is, the number specified during configuring); thus, it helps one understand when the user first arrived at our site and where exactly he/she arrived;
- multiserver work is supported: under accurate configuring (or its total absence ;), it is guaranteed that the cookie issued to the user will be unique;
- the cookie issued to the user and the one received from him/her are not mingled in the log file;
- the cookies are 128 bit long, and one may work with them in the log analyzer (quick search etc.) using ready source code intended for working with IPv6 (for example, libpatricia);
- support of P3P (minimal) is provided.
