Adaptive Quality of Service Architecture (AQuoSA) is an open architecture for the provisioning of adaptive Quality of Service functionality into the Linux kernel. The project features a flexible, portable, lightweight and open architecture for supporting soft real-time applications with facilities related to timing guarantees and QoS, on the top of a general-purpose operating system as Linux.
At the core of the architecture there is an adaptive resource reservation layer that is capable of dynamically adapting the CPU allocation for QoS aware applications based on their run-time requirements.
Timing guarantees are provided through an in-kernel reservation based process scheduler, whose services are exposed to applications through a well-designed API.
A supervisor performs admission control, so that admitting into the system new applications with timing guarantees does not affect the timing guarantees of already admitted applications. Also, it takes care of guaranteeing appropriate security policies in the assignment of timing guarantees to users and user groups, as configured by the system administrator.
A feedback-based QoS control layer may be optionally used by applications who want to keep their timing guarantees by using a CPU allocation that is continuously adapted according to their actual needs. This leaverages the programmer, within certain limits, to hard-code any particular reservation amount within the application, because the best allocation is found out automatically at run-time. Also, this enhances the possibilities for the system to host additional QoS controlled applications. The available control algorithms are well founded on formal scheduling models and control theoretical results.
Enhancements:
- This release introduces a couple of flags useful when creating servers. If QOS_F_PERSISTENT is enabled, a server is allowed to exist beyond detach of the last task. If QOS_F_SOFT is enabled, a server tasks are scheduled by the Linux default scheduler/policy, when outside of the server reservation.
- Also, various stability issues in destroying servers have been fixed, also thanks to a new release of the generic scheduler patch for the Linux kernel (gs-2.2).

FALF Player wants to be a smart, compact, light and comfortable mp3 player with tabbed playlists.

Video4Linux Grab is a realtime Video4Linux recording software.

It makes it possible to record AVI DivX files in realtime from any Video4Linux device.

The project is in development state, but at this time its possible to get a version which can capture in realtime.

At a later point, a full support for scheduled capturing from different channels at different time to different files. This is at the moment not very comfortable but Im still going on!

I use for recording to a AVI file the AVI Filelibrary. This library implements in C++ a standard interface for different stream formats to write a stream to an AVI file.

For encoding I use the XviD encoder, because he is much faster as the original DIVX5 codec and makes a better quality. The results above are also possible if you use the orignal DIVX5 codec, but in real shit quality. Under Linux only a "small" version is available for free so I recoment to use the XviD codec!

Also a linear deinterlacer is implemented. This one use the MMX extenions of modern processors and dont reduce the overall load too much. It also makes a good quality and improves the quality of the movie extremly. The sample movies are recorded without the deinterlacer, so a better quality in fast scenes are now possible.

Null httpd is a very small, simple and multithreaded web server for Linux and Windows.

Please note that Null httpd is _not_ a production quality server, nor should it be used in environments where stability and/or security are a concern.

If youre looking for a solid, reliable web server, please use Apache.

Moonlight|3D program strives to become a free modern, flexible, feature-rich and extensible modelling and animation tool. Our goal is to provide a tool that is capapble of turning even the most advanced and challenging projects of artists and technical artists into reality.
We understand that this project is by its very nature a huge undertaking which takes large amounts of time and effort to get started. However, this does not scare us off.
We have chosen to make clean design, good usability and solid implementation of features our highest priority goals and we have already successfully, albeit slowly pursued that road for several years.
In order to speed up the progress of our development efforts we open up the project to the general public and we hope to attract the support of many developers and users, bringing the project forward faster.
