Ark Linux Live is a Live CD edition of Ark Linux. Ark Linux is a beginner-friendly Linux distribution meant primarily for desktop use.
The Ark Linux team is pleased to announce the release of a first version of Ark Linux Live, a Live CD version of the Ark Linux operating system.
Ark Linux Live is designed to be as close to the "normal" version of Ark Linux as possible - and is built from the same source code.
There are a couple of known problems with this CD image, most notably non-English languages are not working in non-KDE applications, and the kernel spews some [harmless but dangerous looking] error messages at bootup. These (and other bugs that will possibly show up) will be fixed before the release of Ark Linux Live 2006.1.
The primary uses of a Live CD are:
- Recovering a normal system after a big hardware or software failure (Ark Linux will launch a special live CD for this purpose later, with more recovery tools and fewer other tools)
- Checking the system out without any risk
- Showing others what Linux is like, on their own hardware
- Taking your favorite operating system with you - e.g. to get on the net with Linux even if youre on vacation and the only internet cafe in town is a Microsoft shop
While it is possible to use Ark Linux Live as your primary operating system, that is not recommended - use Ark Linux Home instead.
Ark Linux is a Linux distribution designed especially for desktop use, primarily for people without prior Linux experience. Ark Linuxs main goal is ease of use, and the inclusion of many tools end users will need.
Ark Linux is fully Open Source and Free Software, meaning, basically, you can freely redistribute it in both modified and unmodified form.

PaiPix Linux is a compilation of Free Software, based on KNOPPIX live linux, that is meant to be used in any environment but with special emphasis on science and technologies.
PaiPix Linux should provide an open door to the public including not only the tolls used by the scientists but also the best free applications that make your computer more interesting for any usage.
If you like it for office, video or even gaming, who knows if someday you can get curious and give a look at the scientific applications that are in your DVD.
PaiPix can be used at home, in medium and even large size organizations where the sharing of the compressed DVD image and the included afs file system support make it extreemely powerfull.
PaiPix Linux also serves to support clusters of distributed computing (using the paipix-terminalsever), for data servers, farms simulation farms and user laboratories.

However, because (r)evolutions take time, many companies that are developing systems - which in the end are designed to store in practice the technological and scientific knowledge of mankind - still work in a closed form (proprietary).

Based on Knoppix 3.8, including kernel 2.6.11. It uses the Unionfs file system that mounts the DVD image in read-write mode. Using this feature, PAIPIX can run your 3D-enabled drivers for ATI or NVIDIA cards. Just use knoppix install=ati or knoppix install=nvidia as boot option and run the FlightGear simulator (fgfs) to see the new fantastic 3D support in Linux

- The new PAIPIX 7 keeps its focus on scientific software but drops the emphasis on a pure live DVD to integrate installation, live and upgrade systems. I hereby like to thank all of those who have used the previous version of LuitLinux and have made some wonderful suggestions which helped me in bringing out this new version. I also like to apologize to those whom I had initially promised to include certain packages, but then had to finally drop them. Some hardware issues still remains unsolved which I hope can be resolved with your help and suggestions. So please start using the LuitLinux forum which will help in bringing out a better version of LuitLinux in the near future.

Bluewhite64 Linux is an unofficial port of Slackware Linux to the AMD64 architecture. This means that it runs on AMD64 based servers and computers.
Bluewhite64 Linuxs goal of this port is to mimic the user experience of the Intel x86 distribution at its best. I will try to include the same software, configuration scripts and so on. If you notice any differences between Bluewhite64 and the original Slackware, dont hesitate to email me.

PUD GNU/Linux stands for Penks Underbred Distro/DSL Linux and is a desktop-oriented live CD Linux distribution which takes up under 180MB, with Traditional Chinese (zh_TW) supported.
Main features:
- Traditional Chinese (zh_TW) Supported -- PUD Linux can perform both Chinese input and output very well under X Window.
- Minimalism -- Although PUD contains additional fonts and databases, it still remain small that can be burned into a 8cm CD-R.
- Full Featured -- Despite the small size, the goal of PUD is to provide a easy-to-use desktop, and tries to include software which most people would use every day.

PUD GNU/Linux LXDE is a mini Linux live CD which takes up under 200MB, and with support for Traditional Chinese (zh_TW).
The main purpose is to provide a complete Linux desktop with many popular applications and tools, yet remain small and simple to operate.
This release is made for LXDE, the Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment, and using the latest stable code from build-livecd and PUD GNU/Linux.

- This LiveCD is based on PUD, so except the full-featured Live CD, it also included the newest lxpanel, lxsession, pcmanfm and integrated with those configurations from the LXDE guide, to provide an easy to use, lightweight and fast Desktop.
