Fid Core Library is the core library for the Frigand Imperial Desktop, a genuine Unix desktop environment based around multiprocessing, text-stream IPC, and the "everything is a file" concept.
It supports Emacs-like extensibility, customizability, and built-in multi-buffer support.
Enhancements:
- This release adds testing support for the axioms over buffer implementations and user interfaces, a better implementation of interactive, and a new cursor movement mechanism that allows the user interface to manage point itself (and, hence, keep it always on a widget).

btnSMS Library is a C library that provides an easy interface for sending SMS messages through the Beyond The Net SMS service provider.

Messages can be sent to nearly every country in the world with many different options.

The GNU Scientific Library (GSL) is a numerical library for C and C++ programmers. It is free software under the GNU General Public License.
GNU Scientific Library provides a wide range of mathematical routines such as random number generators, special functions and least-squares fitting. There are over 1000 functions in total with an extensive test suite.
Installation Instructions:
GSL follows the standard GNU installation procedure. To compile GSL you will need an ANSI C-compiler. After unpacking the distribution the Makefiles can be prepared using the configure command,
./configure
You can then build the library by typing,
make
Both static and shared versions of the libraries will be compiled by default. Compilation of shared libraries can be turned off by specifying the `--disable-shared option to `configure, e.g.
./configure --disable-shared
If you encounter problems building the library try using the above option, because some platforms do not support shared libraries.
For notes about problems with specific platforms and compilers see the next section of this file (below).
An extensive test suite is available. After compiling the library with "make", it can be invoked with "make check" at the top level. The test output should be directed to a file rather than a terminal, with the command,
make check > log 2>&1
to allow any errors to be examined in detail. By default, only test failures are shown. To see the complete output, set the environment variable GSL_TEST_VERBOSE=1.
If you run the tests and get some failures, please see the notes on platform specific problems below. If you find failures that are not mentioned, please report them to bug-gsl@gnu.org.
The library can be installed using the command,
make install
The default installation directory prefix is /usr/local. Consult the "Further Information" section below for instructions on installing the library in another location or changing other default compilation options.
Enhancements:
- This release adds new support for non-symmetric eigensystems, basis splines, and Mathieu functions.
- It has fixes for all bugs reported since the last release.

GOBLIN is a C++ class library focussed on graph optimization and network programming problems. GOBLIN Graph Library deals with all of the standard graph optimization problems discussed by textbooks and in courses on combinatorial optimization.
This software package also consists of a shell interpreter which extends the well-known Tcl/Tk language to graph objects and a graph browser and editor tool. Executable solvers are available for practical optimization problems. The graph browser applies for teaching and scientific documentation purposes.
GOBLIN is open source software and licenced by the GNU Lesser Public License (LGPL). That is, GOBLIN may be downloaded, compiled and used for scientific, educational and other purposes free of charge. For details, in particular the statements about redistribution and changes of the source code, observe the LGPL document which is attached to the package.
Main features:
- The gosh interpreter extends the Tcl/Tk scripting language to graph objects in a natural way.
- The goblet graph browser and editor tool. Graphical front end to the library.
- An open class hierarchy which strictly separates between abstract classes (all mathematical algorithms are defined as methods of abstract classes), implementations (i.e. by incidence lists, adjacency matrices) and logical views (problem transformations).
- A generic branch and bound module with several applications to graph optimization.
- Logging and tracing functionality which allows to study the various algorithms by examples.
- A runtime configuration module controls the selection of mathemetical methods, logging information, and the tracing of data objects.
- Compile time configuration module for code optimization.
- A file interface which can be easily extended to new problem classes.
- Source code for executable solver programs.
Today, GOBLIN provides strongly polynomial algorithms for the following graph optimization problems:
- Shortest paths in graphs and digraphs with negative lengths.
- Negative cycles and minimum mean cycles.
- Strong and 2-connected components.
- Minimum spanning trees, arborescences and 1-trees.
- Maximum st-flows, feasible circulations and b-flows.
- Min-cost st-flows, b-flows and circulations.
- Assignment problems of any kind.
- 1-matchings, b-matchings, capacitated b-matchings, f-factors and degree-constrained subgraphs.
- Directed and undirected Chinese postman problems, T-joins.
Enhancements:
- This release comes with explicit code for orthogonal drawing of trees.
- There are also new generator methods for regular planara graphs.
- A lot of doxygen comments has been added, but dexcription are still far from complete.

TCB::Library provides a database-backed book library package for DBIx::Frame.

TCB::Library is a DBIx::Frame object written to keep track of library books at the TCB Group at UIUC.

It provides a Web interface for adding books to the library, for users to check out and return them, and for reminder messages to be sent out periodically to list what books are checked out.

This is actually a fairly basic function of research groups, but doesnt have a standard software package.

The Audio File Library provides a uniform and elegant API for accessing a variety of audio file formats, such as AIFF/AIFF-C, WAVE, NeXT/Sun .snd/.au, Berkeley/IRCAM/CARL Sound File, Audio Visual Research, Amiga IFF/8SVX, and NIST SPHERE. Supported compression formats are currently G.711 mu-law and A-law and IMA and MS ADPCM.

Key goals of the Audio File Library are file format transparency and data format transparency. The same calls for opening a file, accessing and manipulating audio metadata (e.g. sample rate, sample format, textual information, MIDI parameters), and reading/writing sample data will work with any supported audio file format. Likewise, the format of the audio data presented to the application need not be tied to the format of the data contained in the file.

The GTK ADI Library is a GTK widget library that implements an ADI widget framework.

conexus is a generalized C++ I/O library that includes support for BSD sockets, serial/TTY, and packet capture (via pcap).

conexus library utilizes sigc++ for object communication. A companion library, conexusgtk, provides a set of gtkmm widgets.
