GnomeRSVP 1.4

GnomeRSVP 1.4

GnomeRSVP project is a rapid serial visual projector. more>>
GnomeRSVP project is a rapid serial visual projector.
GnomeRSVP is a "Rapid Serial Visual Projector" similar to products like AceReader.
In this dynamic representation of text, each word is flashed on the screen one at a time in succession.
The reader is less inclined to "oralize" the text, rather the reader interprets whole words as meaningful written symbols.
Automatic re-reading of adjacent previous text is therefore rendered impossible.
This results in much higher reading speeds than are possible with standard techniques.
Main features:
- Gnome compliance
- Font Selection
- Color Selection
- Text, HTML, and PDF file support
- Session Support
- Remembers Last Location and Position
- URL support!
- Variable speed from 120 to 6000 words per minute

J/CoMM 0.1.1

J/CoMM 0.1.1

J/CoMM is an OS-independent RS232 remote control. more>>
J/CoMM server is a middleware between RS232 controllable hardware devices (like VCRs, data projectors, cameras etc.) and a graphical user interface.

Typically you will install J/CoMM server on a central workstation with multiple RS232 interfaces and with multiple hardware devices connected.

J/CoMM server provides a web interface which allows you to base your GUI on HTML and, more important, to run different instances of that GUI on serveral client computers at the same time. Though internet enabled, J/CoMM is also suitable for running on a single workstation.

J/CoMM supports the development of HTML based GUIs by providing

* a Java applet which establishes the communication between the GUI website(s) and the server and
* a library of Javascripts which contains DHTML classes like buttons, displays, players as well as keyboard and network support.

You will find a couple of device drivers packaged with J/CoMM. But J/CoMM also includes a device driver API which allows you to easily create custom drivers.

PerlPoint::Tags 0.45

PerlPoint::Tags 0.45

PerlPoint::Tags is a Perl module that can processes PerlPoint tag declarations. more>>
PerlPoint::Tags is a Perl module that can process PerlPoint tag declarations.

SYNOPSIS

# declare a tag declaration package
package PerlPoint::Tags::New;

# declare base "class"
use base qw(PerlPoint::Tags);

PerlPoint is built a modularized way. The base packages provide parsing and stream processing for all translators into target formats and are therefore intended to be as general as possible. Thats why they not even define tags, because every translator author may wish to provide own tags special to the addressed target projector (or format, respectively). On the other hand, the parser needs to know about tags to recognize them correctly. That is where this module comes in. It serves as a base of tag declaration modules by providing a general import() method to be inherited by them. This method scans the invoking module for certain data structures containing tag declarations and imports these data into a structure in its own namespace. The parser knows about this PerlPoint::Tags collection and makes it the base of its tag handling.

It is recommended to have a "top level" tag declaration module for each PerlPoint translator, so there could be a PerlPoint::Tags::HTML, a PerlPoint::Tags::Latex, PerlPoint::Tags::SDF, a PerlPoint::Tags::XML and so on. (These modules of course may simply invoke lower level declarations.)

Note: We are speaking in terms of "classes" here but of course we are actually only using the mechanism of import() together with inheritance to provide an intuitive and easy to use way of declaration.

As an additional feature, the module provides a method addTagSets() to allow translator users to declare tags additionally.

Quantum Minigolf 1.0.0

Quantum Minigolf 1.0.0

Quantum Minigolf is nearly the same as the game minigolf - except that the ball obeys the laws of quantum mechanics. more>>
Quantum Minigolf is nearly the same as the game minigolf - except that the ball obeys the laws of quantum mechanics.

Such a ball can be at several places at once. It can diffract around obstacles and interfere with itself. Apart from that, the rules are the same: You can play on various tracks involving various obstacles. You hit the ball with a club and try to kick it into a hole on the other side of the track.

The software

To play quantum minigolf, download the game in the download section. It is a GPLed C++ program, which has been tested under Windows and Linux. It features a simple user interface. You can add your own tracks by editing them in any image editing software and saving them in bmp format.

The hardware

There also exists a (virtually) real version of quantum minigolf. It permits to play with a real club and a ball which is projected onto the track by a video projector mounted on a 2m (6ft) high tripod. The club is marked by an infrared LED, and detected by a webcam next to the video projector. An image recognition algorithm in the quantum minigolf software computes the club position and feeds back hits into the simulation.
