Project Pisces 1.2.2
Project Pisces provides a distributed testing environment that extends JUnit. more>>
Pisces is an innovative open source JUnit extension which adds functionality to JUnit but does not require any changes to the way you currently use it.
Pisces lets you write test suites composed of several JUnit tests which can run on remote machines either serially or in parallel. The Pisces extension allows you to compose and run complex scenarios and coordinate all of them from a single location.
The MantaRay team created Pisces because they needed a distributed testing framework to automate the MantaRay release tests which are distributed by nature.
Pisces is released to the open source community under the GPL license.
Enhancements:
- The local address of the multicast address is now configurable.
- If you need to configure the local address the multicast communication layer will bind to, set the system property "pisces.multicast.mcla" to the desired address.

Project Elevate 0.1.0
Project Elevate is an attempt to free users from the desktop metaphor. more>>
Project Elevate is an attempt to free users from the desktop metaphor.
Project Elevate offers a fixed set of applications which allow casual users to perform the most usual tasks with their computer.
I dont like the way current desktop environments look and feel. I find them too complicated and too annoying. Computers "can" have simple interfaces similar to videos, mp3 players and mobile phones (at least the old ones). Many people argue that this is not possible since a computer has multiple roles, so the User Interface (UI) should be complicated. I disagree.
Multitasking is a myth. Only power users exploit it. Casual users do one thing at a time. They only read their email, or browse the web or work on office applications. The only other application 99% of casual users use in parallel is their music player to have background music. So yes, the computer can actually look and act in a simple way. We need one application per role.
Project Elevate is an experiment to support this claim. I am developing it for my own personal use but I am also making the code public so that other developers can help if they find it useful. Read the manifesto pages it you still wondering what is my motivation. The whole user environment consists of 4 distinct applications. New functionality comes from new application modules and not complete applications. Modules are NOT plugins or dynamically loaded libraries like in other frameworks.
These applications are:
- Central Hub - a starting place constitutes 5% of Project Elevate
- Vault - a place to store files 30% of Project Elevate
- Elevate - the all-singing-all-dancing task based environment 50% of Project Elevate
- Syndesis - a place to interface with external media 15% of Project Elevate

Project Logger 1.02b3
The Project Logger provides a simple yet effective means of keeping people informed about the progress of projects. more>>
The Project Logger provides a simple yet effective means for keeping people informed about the progress of projects, itineraries, or any sort of plans.
It combines the simplicity of blogging with dates, tasks, files, costs, and RSS feed modules to form a central broadcast point from which to keep people coordinated. How many times have problems occurred because of "I didnt know" or "I was unaware" or "When the #$% did that happen?"
The Project Logger solves this problem by making a tool that is first and foremost simple to use both from a publisher (how easy is it to enter information?) and from a subscriber (How easy is it to get to the information?) standpoint.

Open Project Services 0.2
Open Project Services (OPS) is a project collaboration platform, integrating server components such as e-mail, calendaring. more>>
Open Project Services (OPS) is a project collaboration platform, integrating server components such as e-mail, calendaring, timesheets, documents, knowledge, etc. with standards complient clients. Open Project Services consists of a project server and a set of client extensions.
We are building a project collaboration platform. It consists of a project server that integrates with services needed within a project, e.g. e-mail, calendaring, timesheets, documents, knowledge, etc.
The project server is a Webservices hub based on Java (J2EE). The persistence layer for project information is LDAP. We use OpenLDAP now, but others should also be possible. The e-mail backend makes use of a standard IMAP server. Our reference implementation uses Courier.
We are building extensions/plugins for clients, making them OPS-enabled. We support e.g. Mozilla Thunderbird (XUL) and Squirrelmail (PHP) for e-mail clients. For the calendaring and timesheet components we have a Mozilla Sunbird extension (XUL).
In short: we are building a project collaboration environment on an OSS stack, enriching services with project information, using COTS clients/servers and open standards.
Enhancements:
- This release includes some changes to the underlying LDAP schema to make it possible to disable tasks when they are completed.
- To make use of this new feature, the Web services and the sunbird timesheet client have to be updated.

Project VDW 0.51
Project VDW contains a package that generates van der Waerden sequences. more>>
Project VDW contains a package that generates van der Waerden sequences.
Project VDW is a an attempt to further research into van der Waerden sequences.
The software consists of a client that generates sequences, and a utility to generate unique starting seeds.
The ultimate goal of this project is to develop a BOINC-based client that can supply the massively parallel computing resources necessary to solve currently untouched sequences.
Currently the makefile will compile and test several different versions using char, u_char, int, u_int, long, and u_long as the element type.
Different architectures perform differently on chars vs ints and differently given the size of the data cache.
Feel free to try different combinations of element type to optimize the code for your particular configuration.
Enhancements:
- Changed to timed checkpointing
- Changed to millionbased accounting from 2^32 accounting
- Added Interrupted/Completed messages to output file
- Changed makefile to test different element types
- and lots of other cool stuff.

Aurora Project 0.3
The Aurora Project aims to be a simple yet effective and intuitive Desktop Environment. more>>
The Aurora Project is an attempt to create a new generation of Linux distributions. It will try to break free from old patterns and establish Linux as a serious world player.
Currently, Aurora Project consists of the Aurora Desktop Environment which, unlike most other Linux-based desktop environments, dont attempts to accomplish everything but to remove the focus from system configuration and desktop customizing by creating an easy-to-use out-of-the-box intuitive and beutiful desktop experience.
The UI is (for now) somewhat Microsoft Windows-inspired. I am satisfied with the general layout of the panel and start menu, currently I am busy designing the core functionality of the desktop with the panel as my number one priority. Also there is the session manager, the desktop manager and the shared library.
The Aurora Project currently consists of two major components - the panel and the shared library.
Main features:
- Windows-like user interface with a start menu.
- Freedesktop-compliant application menu (compatible with GNOME and KDE).
- Frequently used applications are easy to access.
