EDU-Nix is a Live CD, this means that it is a complete computer Operating System that runs off of a Compact Disc instead of being installed onto the computers hard drive. EDU-Nix is based upon Gentoo Linux and the K Desktop Environment.

EDU-Nix Live CD also contains installation programs for OpenOffice.org for Windows, a fully-featured Office Productivity Suite that is Free to use and redistribute.

EDU-Nix contains numerous Educational, Office Productivity and Internet programs within a portable, Live CD Environment. You can access the EDU-Nix desktop on any PC that can boot from CD, bringing your system with you wherever you go.
EDU-Nix is Free Software, meaning school districts may legally copy and redistribute the system to students and faculty.

EDU-Nix aims to provide U.S. Public Schools with Open-Source alternatives to expensive proprietary software products. The project will consist initially of a redistributable CD that has both a live CD environment, as well as Windows versions of the office and productivity programs.

By ensuring that all students and faculty have equal access to high-quality Free Software, EDU-Nix will help to bridge the digital divide in American schools, allowing students access to the same software they use at school wherever they can get computer time.

Bongo is an easy-to-use mail and calendar system, offering a simple yet powerful user interface. Bongo project goal is to make sharing, organisation, and communication simpler, quicker, and more useful.
What is Bongo?
Were creating fun and simple e-mail & calendaring software. We want our inboxes to be usable again: e-mail should be a useful tool, not a productivity killer. We want to be able to use our calendars to organise our lives, and we want other people to be able to interact with us through it whether they use Bongo or not.
Although Bongo is a young project, the software itself has a long pedigree and we are simply amongst the latest custodians. But while the core code isnt new, the ideas we have and the direction were taking are. Were not trying to create a "groupware" system to compete with well-known proprietary systems, or create an "enterprise platform" which encompasses everything from document management to project planning.
Best of all, Bongo is free (as in "freedom") software developed by an open community: we pride ourselves on being friendly and welcoming, and we see our project as being complementary to similar community projects.
Enhancements:
- This release is another source-only release intended for developers and very early testers, but it includes major new features such as native anti-spam and anti-virus integration and a brand-new Web administration system.
- Many structural changes have also been implemented, and less obvious improvements such as SMTP encryption are included, as are many bugfixes.

Module::Versions handles versions of loaded modules with a flexible result interface. The main goal is to get as much version informations as possible about a module or module list with a simple call interface and an absolutely flexible result interface. Module::Versions handles *loaded* and *loadable* modules.

The motivation for writing this module was the need for better support facilities to get informations about the used modules and versions in the productivity environment. Module::Versions allows shipping applications basically with something like a -version option (See Getopt::Long) but with expanded functions.

Module::Versions tries to read the loaded/loadable modules $VERSION. For extended purposes any private project version variables can be fetched ($_VERSION, $version, $REV, etc.).

Module::Versions has a flexible result interface to satisfy different needs: results can be lists and data structures with different formats - pre-formed ARRAY, HASH, SCALAR, CSV, XML/XSD/DTD and a full flexible user callback interface.
It is for example very simple to print a good formatted version list to the console and save a version.xml file (in conjunction with an xsd-schema) at the same time with an absolutely minimum of coding (SYNOPSIS, Pretty Compact) .
Module::Versions tries to load version.pm to support Perl 5.10.0s $VERSION formatting.

It allows user to manage many tasks, each with his own name, time duration, type, description and status.
