LPQ Control 1.0

LPQ Control 1.0

LPQ Control is a PHP script that parses the output of the lpq command. more>>
Anyone who has spent enough time in Linux probably believes that you can never have enough control.

LPQ Control PHP script is a tool that parses the output of the lpq command and provides a web interface that allows you to remove print jobs from a printer.

You need to make sure that Apache can execute the lprm command. For a
default Apache installation, you will need to add the following line to
your /etc/sudoers file:

apache ALL=(root) NOPASSWD:/usr/bin/lprm

This allows the PHP program to remove *ANY* specified print job.

Cool Blue 1.0

Cool Blue 1.0

Cool Blue is a desktop widget for SuperKaramba for system monitoring. more>>
Cool Blue is a desktop widget for SuperKaramba for system monitoring.

It has cool blue translucent background (which I made with help of Karbon14, Krita and the mighty Gimp) and displays everything I need (and probably what you need too).

It can interact with XMMS. Well, its a matter of personal taste, but I still like XMMS more than AmaroK...

Anyway, if you want, it should be easy changing it to use amaroK. Maybe even Ill do this if I have free time and appropriate mood.

Katakana Table

Katakana Table

Katakana Table is a katakana table karamba theme. more>>
Katakana Table is a katakana table karamba theme. Useful for learning katakana. When one clicks on a character a passive popup will come up with the romaji and hiragana for that katakana.

If you middle click a character it will copy it to the clipboard. This theme uses unicode so your local probably needs to be utf8.

I havent tested that, im just speculating. works well with my hirgana table (http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=33568) which is due for a major reworking.

Red Hat Linux 9

Red Hat Linux 9

Red Hat Linux is probably the best-known Linux distribution. more>>
Red Hat Linux is probably the best-known Linux distribution. Red Hat Linux is well-supported by commercial software, and tends to be easy to install and have good hardware support out of the box.

Compaq has taken over the maintenance for Red Hat for their Alpha processor - theres a link to their Alpha Red Hat page below.

Red Hat 9 is the last version of Red Hat Linux per se, and Red Hat will stop supporting it soon. Instead they offer a commercial Linux distribution, "Red Hat Enterprise Edition", and a free distribution, "The Fedora Project".

IP::Country 2.23

IP::Country 2.23

IP::Country is a tool for fast lookup of country codes from IP addresses. more>>
IP::Country is a tool for fast lookup of country codes from IP addresses. Finding out the country of a client using only the IP address can be difficult.

Looking up the domain name associated with that address can provide some help, but many IP address are not reverse mapped to any useful domain, and the most common domain (.com) offers no help when looking for country.

IP::Country module comes bundled with a database of countries where various IP addresses have been assigned. Although the country of assignment will probably be the country associated with a large ISP rather than the client herself, this is probably good enough for most log analysis applications, and under test has proved to be as accurate as reverse-DNS and WHOIS lookup.

dbKalendar is a calendar theme for SuperKaramba that tries to mimic the Dashboard calendar widget introduced in Mac OS X 1.04 (Tiger).

It will probably never be as slick as the original, but Im trying to get it as close as possible. Goal is to have at least the same functions in dbKalender as there are in Dasboards calendar. After that has happened, perhaps integration with KOrganizer is possible.

OCaml-FreeTDS 0.2

OCaml-FreeTDS 0.2

OCaml-FreeTDS is a binding to the ct-lib component of the FreeTDS library. more>>
OCaml-FreeTDS is a binding to the ct-lib component of the FreeTDS library, for accessing Sybase and Microsoft (or other TDS) database servers.
If you dont know what "ct-lib" means then you should probably not be using this, but rather OCamlDBI ; a more general and simple database layer, for which OCaml-FreeTDS bindings exist.
Main features:
- ct-lib binding
- ocamldbi interface (should be in the ocamldbi package)
- Examples provided for each in the distribution
Enhancements:
- This version fixes the configure script so anyone with FreeTDS in a funny place, or the real Sybase libs, can adjust their paths appropriately. It is known to build against the Sybase libs, and FreeTDS 0.6.1 and above. Support for old FreeTDS is not something I think is valuable, since it is free to upgrade.
- However... The Sybase libs cause a segfault, probably because of some value specific to FreeTDS that I use, but since I dont have them I cant find out! Any testing by others would be greatly appreciated.

PictureStories lets you make little webpages of stories you write where some of the words are replaced with images which is called rebus. What makes PictureStories cool is that the images are dynamically pulled from popular web-based image search engines (like Google).

Weve seen lots of cute little storybooks for kids that are like this, and we thought itd be neat to be able to do my own. Someone has probably had this idea before, but we couldnt find anything online anywhere, so we wrote it.

WebSH 0.1a

WebSH 0.1a

WebSH is a script that executes commands on a remote machine without opening a port. more>>
WebSH is a script that executes commands on a remote machine without opening a port, but instead by communicating with a PHP file. WebSH currently only works for Unix based servers and Unix based clients.
This script emphasizes the fact that a vulnerability that allows a file to be edited or uploaded is just as bad as a buffer overflow of PHP or an Apache thread.
Enhancements:
- Add support for Windows based servers.
- Possibly add a web based interface.
- This is probably not going to be possible, but I am hoping to turn this into a fully working terminal, including support for programs such as "less" and "vi". Think along the lines of a PHP tunneled SSH... again, its probably not even possible. This may entail switching from Bash to Python.
