Rockbox is an open source replacement firmware for mp3 players. Rockbox runs on a number of different models:
- Archos: Jukebox 5000, 6000, Studio, Recorder, FM Recorder, Recorder V2 and Ondio
- iRiver: H100 and H300 series
- Apple: iPod 4th gen (grayscale and color), 5th gen (Video), Nano and Mini 1st/2nd gen
- iAudio: X5 (including X5V and X5L)
Rockbox is a complete rewrite and uses no fragments of any original firmwares.

FoxyProxy is an advanced proxy management tool that completely replaces Firefoxs proxy configuration. The extension offers more features than SwitchProxy, ProxyButton, QuickProxy, xyzproxy, ProxyTex, TorButton, etc:
- Animated statusbar/toolbar icons show you when a proxy is in use
- Define which proxy to use (or none!) for arbitrary URLs using wildcards, regular expression, whitelists, and blacklists
- Define multiple proxies and order their use with priorities
- No more wondering whether a URL loaded through a proxy or not: FoxyProxy includes an optional log of all URLs loaded, including which proxy was used (if any), which pattern was matched, timestamps, etc.
- Temporarily or permanently disable a proxy with the click of a button
- Out-of-the-box support for Tor - zero configuration
- Optional status bar information about which proxy is currently in use
- Full Proxy Auto-Config (PAC) support, with PAC features not available within Firefox itself

gok is the GNOME Onscreen Keyboard. It features Direct Selection, Dwell Selection, Automatic Scanning and Inverse Scanning access methods and includes word completion.

GOK includes an alphanumeric keyboard and a keyboard for launching applications. Keyboards are specified in XML enabling existing keyboards to be modified and new keyboards to be created. The access methods are also specified in XML providing the ability to modify existing access methods and create new ones.

GOK is not limited to presenting keyboards that have been designed by hand and is able to dynamically create keyboards so that it can adapt to the users current situation. GOK is able to redisplay components of the user interfaces of running applications directly within GOK as keyboards. This provides efficient access to elements of the user interface, removing the need to navigate the interface indirectly
though keyboard accelerators. GOK supports the redisplay of application menus and toolbars. GOK contains a window activator keyboard that lists the current windows on the desktop and provides the ability to switch between them.

Users have the option of setting key width, height, and spacing as well as visual and auditory feedback on highlighting and selection.

GOK can be further customized if you have programming skills, and contributions are welcome. If you build GOK from source, you will find some documentation about Goks internal APIs the gok/docs/reference/html directory.

Before reporting GOK problems, or attempting to make significant use of GOK, please read this file and the file named "NEWS" carefully for hints about how to configure your system and GOK to work together, paying particular attention to the section titled "Input Devices" (below).

LaBrea is a intrusion detection / "sticky" honey pot technology using virtual servers to detect malware. LaBrea takes over unused IP addresses, and creates virtual servers that are attractive to worms, hackers, and other denizens of the Internet. The program answers to connection attempts in a way that the machine at the other end gets "stuck", sometimes for a very long time.
LaBrea works by watching ARP requests and replies. When the pgm sees consecutive ARP requests spaced several seconds apart, without any intervening ARP reply, it assumes that the IP in question is unoccupied. It then "creates" an ARP reply with a bogus MAC address, and fires it back to the requester.
An example (from a tcpdump of LaBrea running on my network):

There is no xx.xx.xx.13 machine on my network. In this case, the timeout was set to 3 seconds (its a command line parameter), and when that final "who-has" came in, the "is-at" reply that you see was generated by LaBrea.
There isnt a MAC address of 0:0:f:ff:ff:ff either. It doesnt exist.
But now, the router (xx.xx.xx.1) believes that there some machine at xx.xx.xx.13, and that it resides on the MAC address 0:0:f:ff:ff:ff, and so it dutifully sends packets on. In
essence, weve created a "virtual machine" on that IP address.
Now, LaBrea also watches for TCP traffic destined for the ether address 0:0:f:ff:ff:ff. When it sees an inbound TCP SYN packet, it replies with a SYN/ACK that "tarpits" that connection attempt. Everything else is ignored. (Well... sort of. LaBrea also tries to give its "virtual machines" some character... you can ping them, and they respond to a SYN/ACK with a RST.
Theres more to it than that (obviously...) but youll need to read further.
Enhancements:
- src/ctl.c (ctl_init_arrays): Remove call to sleep since not supposed to mix with alarm calls on linux.
- src/utils.c (util_alarm), src/labrea.c: Set alarm and signal handlers after going into daemon mode so that child will get signal
- src/labrea_init.c, src/lbio.c: Take out fudge code since libdnet 1.7 ethopen now uses the libdnet device names (ie eth1, etc).

XCard project is a is a French flashcard program.

Its used to help students memorize French words. It comes with several default word lists, ranging from verb lists, to vocabulary associated with airplane travel.

It has the capability to repeat lesser known words, graph a students progress, translate words to French, and to create new word lists.

It is deployed via Java Webstart, and can be run from the XCard homepage.
