OpenDocument Text Library 0.0.1

OpenDocument Text Library 0.0.1

OpenDocument Text Library for creating OpenDocument text files. more>>
There are some interesting projects (OpenDocumentPHP, OpenDocument Fellowship) around the creation of OpenDocument Text from a Web-application.

Thus far none of these projects yielded a result to create an OpenDocument Text. Therefore - and inspired by an article in the German cumuter magasin ct - I desiced to implement a libary that takes a template document and adds some to it.

Text::Convert::ToImage is a Perl module.

SYNOPSIS

use Text::Convert::ToImage;
my $tti = Text::Convert::ToImage->new();
my $length = length($email);
if ($length > 150) {
$email = "Your text length of $length is too large:";
}
my $config = {
TEXT => $email ? $email : "y@hn.org",
POINTSIZE => $point_size ? $point_size : 14,
LEVEL => $level ? $level : 0,
FONT => $font,
XSKEW => $xskew,
YSKEW => $yskew,

};
$tti->calculate($config);
print "Content-type: image/pngnn";
binmode STDOUT;
$tti->Write(png:-);

This was knocked up a long time ago and someone asked me if the source was available so I decided to put it on CPAN. There is very little documentation with it.

There are also very few tests. If more than me and the person who asked for the module use it then I will write some tests for it.

At the moment I have been using it top obfuscate emails and not much else. A demo can be found at http://www.hjackson.org/cgi-bin/tools/email.pl

There are some undocumented features to this module and they are this way because I have not tested to see if they work yet.

Text Text Revolution is a text-based Dance Dance Revolution clone.
It supports pyDDRs .step file format (which has now been superceeded by the .dance format), and plans to stream OGG, MP3, or WAV files.
Enhancements:
- Joystick (DDR mat) support is working now. use the -j switch. Its currently hardcoded to use /dev/input/js0.
- Some graphics code was cleaned up, and it is now possible to specify the difficulty (--light, --standard, --hard, or -ln, where n is 1, 2, or 3).

HyperLinked Text project is a Wiki-esque text file format and accompanying viewer. more>>
HyperLinked Text project is a Wiki-esque text file format and accompanying viewer.

HyperLinked Text (Hylt) is both a file format and a viewer for that format.

It uses (almost) flat text files to generate a Wiki-style database of hyperlinked pages, without either the complex markup of HTML or the esoteric database formats in which most Wikis store data.

It is geared towards users who desire a minimal interface between them and their data or like to store their data in formats which can be meaningfully stored in version control systems.

It was developed originally to match both of those goals, specifically for individuals writing fiction and wishing to track inter-character and inter-location relationships.

Text::Replace 0.07

Text::Replace is a Perl module to replace variables from a hash. more>>
Text::Replace is a Perl module to replace variables from a hash.

SYNOPSIS

#######
# Subroutine Interface
#
use Text::Replace qw(&replace_variables);
$success = replace_variables($template, %variable_hash, @variable);

########
# Class Interface
#
use Text::Replace;
$success = Text::Replace->replace_variables($template, %variable_hash, @variable);

The Text::Replace program module is simple and plain by design. The Text::Replace program module mimics the built-in Perl double quote, ", literal scalar that replaces Perl scalar variables named with a leading $. The Text::Replace program module stays in the background, just like John Williams movie scores.

There is no large manual thicker than the Bible with tricks and tips and gyrations to learn and to distract. The module is plain, simple with no expressiveness. The Text::Replace program module does only one thing: substitute a value for a variable. It is amazing how many times, just a simple double quote literal replacement in a small string or even a large text string gets the job done.

Does Text::Replace solve all variable replacement, template problems? Definitely not. There is no capabilities for inserting graphs, text wrap plug-ins, GD interface. If an application needs something this sophisticated, there are many fine template program modules in CPAN such as the highly rated Template program module.

Text::Macro 0.07

Text::Macro 0.07

Text::Macro Perl module is a template facility whos focus is on generating code such as c, java or sql. more>>
Text::Macro Perl module is a template facility whos focus is on generating code such as c, java or sql. While generating perl code is also possible, there is a potential conflict between the control-symbol and the perl comment symbol.
Perl is excelent at manipulating text, and it begs the question why one would need such a tool.
The answer is that good code design should be such that applications should not have to be modified so as to make configuration changes. Thus external configuration files/data is used. However, if these files are read in as perl-code, then simple errors could crash the whole application (or provide subtle security risks). Further, it is often desired to invert the control flow and text-data (namely, make the embedded strings primary, and control-flow secondary). This is the ASP model, and for 90% HTML, 10% code, this works great.
This module supports many control facilities which directly translate into perl-control facilities (e.g. inverting the ASP-style code back into perl-style behind the scenes). The inversion process is cached in a simple user object.
The module was initially inspired by Text::FastTemplate by Robert Lehr, whos module didnt completely fullfill my needs.
Main features:
- fast, simple, robust
- code-generating-centric feature-set
- substitutions stand-out from template
- macro-code embedded in text
- OOP
- external and internal includes (for clearifying complex control-flow)
- scoped variable-substitutions
- line-based processing (like cpp)
- usable error messages

Text::UberText::Overview Perl module contains some general documentation.

HOWTO

How to I create or designate a namespace?

A namespace is two or more words seperated by periods, like "uber.loop", or "acme.database.inventory". All namespaces are in lowercase.

If you do not plan on publishing your code, feel free to use any namespace you want, except the "uber.*" namespace.

If you do want to publish your code, you will need to make a name that is guaraunteed to be unique. There is no standard convention for namespaces, and Im not even sure if there ever will be one. For now, I would recommend that all of your namespaces start with your organizational id, or perhaps your CPAN id.

OpenOffice::OODoc::Text 2.032

OpenOffice::OODoc::Text 2.032

OpenOffice::OODoc::Text is a Perl module for the text processing submodule of OpenOffice::OODoc. more>>
OpenOffice::OODoc::Text is a Perl module for the text processing submodule of OpenOffice::OODoc.

This manual chapter describes the text-oriented methods of OpenOffice::OODoc, implemented by the OpenOffice::OODoc::Text class, and inherited by the OpenOffice::OODoc::Document class.

These methods are not essentially dedicated to string processing; they are more precisely focused on text containers. A text container is a document element which can (and must) be used in order to support a text and integrate it at the right place and according to the right presentation rules. The OpenDocument specification defines a lot of such containers, and the present API supports many of them, such as paragraphs, headings, tables (or spreadsheets), lists, sections, and draw pages. Some of these containers can host other containers: for example, a table contains rows, a row contains cells, a section can contain almost everything including other sections, etc.

These features are text-oriented, but can be used on documents of any class, such as spreadsheets or presentations as well as text documents. So, the Text word doesnt mean that the features described in the present manual chapter are dedicated to OpenOffice.org Writer documents only. In the other hand, a few methods cant apply to any document class (ex: creating or retrieving draw pages makes sense with presentation and drawing documents only).

OODoc::Text should not be explicitly used in an ordinary application, because all its features are available through the OpenOffice::OODoc::Document class, in combination with other features. Practically, the present manual is provided to describe the text-oriented features of OpenOffice::OODoc::Document (knowing that these features are technically supported by the OpenOffice::OODoc::Text component of the API).

The OpenOffice::OODoc::Text class is a specialist derivative of OpenOffice::OODoc::XPath for XML elements which describe the text content of OOo/ODF documents. Here, "text content" means containers that can host text containers (i.e. tables, lists...) as well as flat text.
Knowing that the "styles.xml" member of an OpenOffice.org file can contain text (because some style definitions, such as page headers or footers, can contain text), the presently described features can be used against this member as well as the "content.xml" member.

This module should be used in combination with OpenOffice::OODoc::Styles, via the OpenOffice::OODoc::Document class, if the application has to handle detailed presentation parameters of text elements. This is because such parameters are held in styles elements and not in the text elements themselves, according to the principle of separation of content and presentation which is one of the foundations of the OpenDocument format.

Text::vFile::toXML can convert vFiles into equivalent XML. more>>
Text::vFile::toXML can convert vFiles into equivalent XML.

SYNOPSIS

This module converts iCalendar (iCal : generically, vFile) files into their (equivalent) XML (xCalendar / xCal) representation, according to Royers IETF Draft (http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-royer-calsch-xcal-03).

# Enable functional interface
use Text::vFile::toXML qw(to_xml);

# Input filename
my $arg = "input.file";
my $a = Text::vFile::toXML->new(filename => $arg)->to_xml;
my $b = Text::vFile::toXML->new(filehandle =>
do { open my $fh, $arg or die "cant open ics: $!"; $fh }
)->to_xml;

use Text::vFile::asData; # to make the functional example work
my $data =
Text::vFile::asData->new->parse(
do {
open my $fh, $arg
or die "Cant open vFile: $!"; $fh
}
);
my $c = Text::vFile::toXML->new(data => $data)->to_xml;

# Use functional interface
my $d = to_xml($data);

# Now ($a, $b, $c, $d) all contain the same XML string.

The form() subroutine may be exported from the module. It takes a series of format (or "picture") strings followed by replacement values, interpolates those values into each picture string, and returns the result. The effect is similar to the inbuilt perl format mechanism, although the field specification syntax is simpler and some of the formatting behaviour is more sophisticated.

A picture string consists of sequences of the following characters:

<

Left-justified field indicator. A series of two or more sequential

Right-justified field indicator. A series of two or more sequential >s specify a right-justified field to be filled by a subsequent value. A single < is formatted as the literal character <

Fully-justified field indicator. Field may be of any width, and brackets need not balance, but there must be at least 2 < and 2 >.

^

Centre-justified field indicator. A series of two or more sequential ^s specify a centred field to be filled by a subsequent value. A single ^ is formatted as the literal character <

Text::MessageFormat is a language neutral way to display messages.

SYNOPSIS

use Text::MessageFormat;

my $form = Text::MessageFormat->new(The disk "{1}" contains {0} file(s).);
print $form->format(3, MyDisk);

# output: The disk "MyDisk" contains 3 file(s).

Text::MessageFormat is a Perl version of Javas java.text.MessageFormat and aims to be format-compatible with that class.

MesageFormat provides a means to produce concatenated messages in language-neutral way. Use this to construct messages displayed for end users.
See Data::Properties for java.util.Properties porting.

WARNINGS/TODO
