Vision Egg 1.2.1
High level interface between Python and OpenGL. It is also useful for anyone wishing to make use of the features of todays graphics cards. more>>
Vision Egg 1.2.1 brings users the convenience of a high level interface between Python and OpenGL. In addition to methods for automatic generation of traditional visual stimuli such as sinusoidal gratings and random dot patterns, it has a number of functions for moving numeric data, images, movies, text, and 3D objects to and from your video card and allowing use of some of its features like perspective distortion. Therefore, it is also useful for anyone wishing to make use of the features of today's graphics cards.
By harnessing the power of today's consumer graphics cards, producing visual stimuli of research quality now requires no specialized hardware beyond a relatively recent computer and graphics card.
Based on open standards, it runs on anything from cheap PCs to expensive special hardware for special needs. For example, running on some platforms, such as SGI workstations, the Vision Egg has a 10-bit luminance dynamic range (both pixel depth and DAC) and precise frame-by-frame control.
The Vision Egg is open source software (GNU LGPL). Therefore, you can be assured of a product that meets your needs but does not lock you in. Download it today and give it a try!
Major Features:
- Perform experiments using an inexpensive PC and standard consumer graphics card
- Perform experiments using a graphics workstation if special features needed
- Data acquisition and other realtime hardware control capabilities useful in electrophysiology and fMRI experiments, including gaze-contingent stimuli
- Dynamically generated stimuli can be changed in realtime via software or external hardware
- Produce traditional stimuli to replace legacy systems
- Produce stimuli not possible using other hardware
- Demo programs to get you started right away
- Run stimuli on your laptop - great for talks
- Free, open-source software
Gtk2::TrayIcon 0.03
Gtk2::TrayIcon is a Perl interface to the EggTrayIcon library. more>>
SYNOPSIS
use Gtk2::TrayIcon;
Gtk2->init;
my $icon= Gtk2::TrayIcon->new("test");
my $label= Gtk2::Label->new("test");
$icon->add($label);
$icon->show_all;
Gtk2->main;
ABSTRACT
This module allows a Perl developer to embed an arbitrary widget in a System Tray like the Gnome notification area.
EggTrayIcon is slated for inclusion in Gtk+ at some point, which is the reason the Gtk2::TrayIcon namespace. As all egg libs, EggTrayIcon is not considered api stable and its not installed as a shared object.
Enough about what it is not, Gtk2::TrayIcon is first and foremost a simple way of giving a Gtk2 script access to the system tray.
System Trays are found in both KDE and Gnome. But neither support the spec fully (see below).
Gtk2::TrayIcon is a subclass of Gtk2::Plug and should be used as such.
Salvation Focus 0.99
Salvation Focus is a web application that allows you to focus your prayer on individuals who have not yet come to know Jesus. more>>
The intent is to cycle through a list of prebelievers, as we like to call them, and pray for each one for as long as you feel led to pray.
Salvation Focus makes administration simple and allows you to keep track of the information of the people who submitted the prebelievers name for prayer. In this way, we hope that the list does not get filled up with people we have lost contact with or those we had little information for to begin with.
Tux Typing 1.5.2
Tux Typing is an educational typing tutor for children. more>>
Tuxtyping 2 is almost a complete rewrite! It has something for everyone no matter who or where you are! If youre a gamer it even comes with two built in easter eggs! A large amount of time was spent with four goals in mind, make the game code clean, make it easy to translate, make it more fun to play and make it a better tool for those who have the more serious side of typing in mind. Tuxtyping 2 runs better and more consistently on a larger range of machines.
Developers
Tuxtyping 2 has a brand new file structure. The code itself has undergone deep surgery. Its faster, cleaner and easier to understand!
Teachers
Teachers will find the new Tuxtyping to be a more moldable tool they can use in there classrooms. It is easier now (and will become even easier) to group the types of exercises, words and characters into a lesson! We need alot of help here, ideas for the lessons/tutorials seem to be few and far between. (tho Jess does have some good ones!) Wed still like more.
Parents
Your kids will play for more than minutes now and learning all the time! Tuxtyping has lots of new toys to play with for them! (But dont let me catch you playing after the kids go to bed!)
Kids
New game! Comet Zap! Tux is challenged with the task of protecting 9 cities! More challenging game play in all the games! Based on Tux of Math Command another Tux4Kids game.
French Danish Armenian! (hey we do them all!)
Tuxtyping is much less tedious to translate now since most on screen graphical text is generated from text files. Text in the game can be translated by editing one file. A Theming How-To is available at our internationalization center.
Adime 2.2.1
Adime is a library for constructing Allegro GUI dialogs in a way similar to scanf(), using a format string. more>>
Other features include a (customizable) 3d look and feel, 3d versions of some of Allegros GUI procs, complete help in many formats (HTML, txt, chm, texinfo, man, devhelp, and RTF), and four example programs.
Adime can currently be compiled on Linux, Windows/MinGW32, Windows/Borland C++, Windows/MSVC, DOS/DJGPP, DOS/Watcom, Apple MacOS X, and QNX.
Main features:
- Only one function call to create a whole dialog, using a format string.
- 3d look and feel.
- No need to calculate object coordinates by hand. All such things are handled completely automatically.
- Uses Allegros gui in the bottom, so it supports Unicode and is potentially portable to any system supported by Allegro (although there are not makefiles for all of them).
- The format string supports the following kinds of input:
- Text input.
- Number input, supporting double, float and signed or unsigned char, short and int. Thanks to the expression evaluator for Egg (written by Shawn Hargreaves), it has a built-in calculator so that the user can enter mathematical expressions.
- Selection of a filename, using (a 3d version of) Allegros file selector.
- Boolean input, using a checkbox.
- Selection of a string from a list box.
- A new dialog recursively opened when the user clicks a button.
- Highly customizable look, using global variables for the fonts, colors and measurements of the dialogs.
- The kernel is flexible enough to allow you to register your own format strings at runtime.
- 3d versions of the following Allegro gui functions: file_select(), d_edit_proc(), d_list_proc(), d_button_proc(), d_check_proc() and d_text_list_proc(). Gui functions for edit boxes with mathematical expressions and a multi-line version of d_text_proc().
- The format string is carefully checked for any possible errors, thus minimizing the risk for you to make mistakes.
- Help compiles into txt, info, html, rtf, and chm formats.
- Four example programs.

Egg::Release 1.20
Egg::Release is a Perl module for WEB application framework release version. more>>
Egg imitated and developed Catalyst.
It is WEB application framework of a simple composition.
It is possible to use it by replacing Model, View, Plugin, Engine, and Dispatch with the module of original development. It is a feature that the customizing degree of freedom is high.
The treatment of Plugin looks like Catalyst well.
Version View to use HTML::Mason from Egg::Release-1.00 was enclosed. I think that it can use a flexible, strong template environment.
It came to be able to set the label of each action by dispatch. The label is convenient to make page title and Topic Path.
It corresponds to FastCGI more than v1.04. Please see the document of Egg::Request::FastCGI about use.
The Minstrels Song 2.0
The Minstrels Song project is a roguelike game with emphasis on worldbuilding. more>>
The Minstrels Song is a roguelike game which seeks to let the user interact with a rich and extensive world.
Among roguelikes, emphasis is on providing nonlinear play in a detailed environment.
Effort has been made to provide races that have not only stats but cultures.
Top 10 things to do in "The Minstrel s Song":
- Pet a dolphin.
- Pray and worship.
- Ride a dragon.
- Match wits with a clockwork door.
- Climb a tree.
- Answer a riddle.
- Build your own mechanical devices.
- Keep an exotic pet.
- Choose your own quest.
- Explore a world of wonder.
To compile and run this game, go into the directory src, edit the file "tms.h" according to the comments that are contained in, and use make.
More specifically, it needs a certain lib directory, where all of the files in "lib" are stored. /usr/local/lib/tms is reccommended. Once you have created that directory and moved all of the files to it (be sure that book8.txt is writeable by everybody -- it is more or less the high score file), set LIB_DIR in tms.h to that directory, with a trailing slash -- ie. change appropriate line to say.
#define LIB_DIR "/usr/local/lib/tms/"
(or whatever you have put for your lib directory.)
Security note: It is strongly discouraged to install TMS as a SetUID binary; the game is not designed to have special priveleges.
