Arianne is a multiplayer online games framework and engine to develop turn based and real time games.
It provides a simple way of creating games on a portable and robust server architecture. The server is coded in Java and uses Python for your game description, provides a MySQL backend and uses an UDP transport channel to communicate with dozens of players.
Our reference client engines are coded using Java and the C language in order to achieve maximum portability.
Arianne has been in development since 1999 and has evolved from a tiny application written in pseudo-C++ to a powerful, expandable but simple server framework, running on the Java platform, and a portable client framework, written in bare C to allow total portability of ariannes clients. Ariannes server is totally client agnostic.
Since the beginning, the key concept at the heart of Ariannes development has been KISS: Keep it simple, stupid!
Arianne games are playable. It now hosts several games:
* a multiplayer Gladiators fighting game
* a multiplayer Pacman game

On Arianne we care about code quality so code is fully tested using Test Units with JUnit and cppunit, so all modules are tested for most common cases, allowing a better quality software to be deployed.
The name originated from the Greek name Ariadne. (Latin; Arianna and from French; Arianne). Ariadne is a famous character in Greek mythology. She was the daughter of King Minos of Crete and she was in love with Theseus, the Athenian hero who killed the Minotaur ( a half human, half bull creature).
Theseus married her, however, then later left her alone on the island of Naxos. Ariadne later married Dionisos the God of Wine. The name Ariadne originates from the ancient Greek words ari which means intelligent and adnis which means pure (as in a virgin). Hence, the daughters of the Romans and Greeks where often called by this name.

Once you have created that directory and moved all of the files to it (be sure that book8.txt is writeable by everybody -- it is more or less the high score file), set LIB_DIR in tms.h to that directory, with a trailing slash -- ie. change appropriate line to say.

MapCal is a mapping event calendar. MapCal project has the ability to add/modify/delete events and show them on a list like other event calendars. The difference with MapCal is that it also shows your events on an embeded Google Map.
This works great for things like a motorcycle club, or a craft show exibitor. Any place you want to show events and their location. Take a look at the on-line demo. MapCal uses PHP and MySQL. PHP 5+ is required.
It has a built-in geocoder - that is it can look up coordinates based on your event address (Google maps only work with lat/lon coordinates, not raw addresses). Thanks to Eric Angel who offers a web service to do this.
MapCal is free for non-commercial or commercial use, released under the GNU License. Google has their own license for using their mapping service, youll have to review that and see if it fits with your desired use.

Console Lines is a "Lines" game for the Unix terminal. There is no in-game help available right now, so check the README file. To move the cursor, use arrows (or jkhl), to select or to move a chip, use space. To instantly quit, use q. Console Lines requires a certain terminal size, supports a mouse (curses or GPM), and works with various ncurses libraries.
You will need an ANSI standart C compiler, GNU make, and a decent curses library that supports colors.

Majic is the interpreter for a language called Erc. It is written in Java and follows the documented standard for the Erc language. First, a word about Erc: Erc is a link-oriented language. In fact, it is the first link-oriented language. It uses a novel syntax with roots in TCL, Scheme, Bash, and natural languages, among others.
Link orientation is a programming paradigm similar to a cross between link-orientation and object-orientation, with a little hypertext markup thrown in for good measure. In it, although it contains list-like structures which behave like objects, the focus is in fact the links between concepts (structures and elements), as opposed to list organization/processing or object creation.
This makes link-oriented languages such as Erc good for AI or other applications which require keeping track of links between concepts, such as expert systems, semantic searching, and neural nets.
Erc is pronounced URk, with a short U. Majic is pronounced MAH-jik. Both names are derived from the book Web of Angels by John M Ford, in which the Erc was the ethreal currency used in the book universe, and Majic was slang for multiple Erc.

- You can develop an arianne client, using the arianne client framework, on any system that is able to compile C code.
- To play a game every player needs an account on the server that is identified by an username and a password.
- Players use their account to login into the server and then choose a player stored under their account to play with. The server then checks the login information using the mySQL backend and loads the player into the game using the persistence engine.
- Players send actions to the server. The action system is totally open and has nothing hard-coded so you can edit it totally to your game style. The server sends at regular intervals, called turns, a perception to each player to inform them about the state of the game and any relevant state modifications. Marauroas perception system is based on the Delta^2 ideology: simply send what has changed.
- The server executes some code each turn in order to move the game status on. Using this hook it is simple to code triggers, timeouts, conditions and whatever kind of behavior you need.
- The server transparently and automatically stores players and game status modifications on the persistence engine, and also information decided by the game developer using their game definition scripts.
- The server side game rules can be written in Python to allow simple and rapid development without needing to recompile the rules engine and without having to know anything about Marauroas internals. Games rules can also be coded in Java.
- The server generates statistics of usage which are stored in a mySQL database (so you can later generate fancy statistics from them). Or in case you dont require them, they can be disabled to save CPU cycles and disk space. Marauroa features a modular structure that means modules can be changed and disabled without affecting the operation of other modules.
- Both the server and clients are fully and wisely documented, with documentation about specification and design and not just API documentation.
Enhancements:
- A MySQL 4.0 incompatibility was fixed, namely a bug regarding IRPZone.ID and RPObject.hashCode that caused problems with HashMap.

amaroK Last.fm tags script fetches your tags from Last.fm for artists, albums, and tracks. It stores them as id3v2 COMM tags in your music files and appends them to the comment for the given track in amaroKs collection where they can be used to contruct smart playlists.
So far this script only fetches your tags, it doesnt syncronize changes you make locally back to Last.fm. Probably this feature should wait until the implementation of "labels" which is coming in amaroK 1.5.
Also so far it is only possible to fetch tags for a selection within a playlist. The other context sub-menus just provide helpful messages saying that this feature isnt implimented yet.
As usual this software comes with no warrenty, it might eat your lunch, etc.. That said it works for me.

ZoltanPlayer is a music playing daemon. It accepts remote commands via its own mini HTTP server and can use seamlessly Audio or Data CDs. Audio CDs are played internally (optionally querying CDDB info servers) and digital songs in audio CDs are played via external players. Its not limited to CDs, as a hard disk directory can also be used.
The optimal equipment for ZoltanPlayer is a CDROM-equipped computer directly connected to an amplifier or stereo. Its not a streaming server, nor a ripper, nor a simple HTTP+HTML interface jukebox (this could be done with a CGI). ZoltanPlayer integrates the controlling of CD insertion / eject with the capability of directly playing CD Audio and spawning external player for MP3 / Ogg Vorbis / whatever song files.
Current version is 1.0.0. This software only runs on Linux and its licensed under the GPL.
Here is a list of commands for ZoltanPlayer:
mount: Mounts the CD in the drive (closing it if necessary). If its a CD Audio, it will take info about it and search the local CDDB cache; if no info for this CD is found, it will query a remote CDDB server. If its a CD-ROM, it will traverse it recursively looking for playable files and the subdirectories containing songs will be treated as groups. Anyway, the list of songs will be stored in its internal database ready for playing.
umount: Unmounts the CD, and ejects it.
xmount: A combination of the previous two. If CD is mounted, umount it, and vice-versa.
hd: Reads a directory from the hard disk (this directory must be defined in the config file to be used). It will be treated the same as a CD-ROM. This command can also be used to re-read the hard disk directory contents if it has been updated since ZoltanPlayer read it.
play: Starts playing the first song.
stop: Stops playing.
pause: Pauses / unpauses the currently playing song.
next-song: Moves to the next song and plays it.
prev-song: Move to the previous song and plays it.
goto-N: Moves to song number N and plays it.
next-group: Moves to the first song of the next group and plays it If no group is defined (as in Audio CDs), it restarts playing from the first song.
prev-group: Moves to the first song of the previous group and plays it.If no group is defined (as in Audio CDs), it restarts playing from the first song.
song-info: Returns information about the song being played in one line. This command can be used from a shell script to display the info on an LCD, a ticker or something like that.
vol-up: Pumps up the volume by 5%. Only operative if the sound card mixer is being used (see sample config file).
vol-down: Lowers the volume by 5%. Only operative if the sound card mixer is being used.
cd-info: Shows the current list of songs, and information about the current group and song being played, if any.
skip-N: disable the song number N (do not play it).
rest-N: enable the previously disabled song number N.
toggle: toggle the skip selection.
toggle-playlist: toggle the skip selection for those songs inside playlists.
shuffle: shuffle the playing order of songs.

Bky is a minimalistic, distributed Version Control System/Source Code Management tool. Bky uses rsync as a backend to store revisions as complete trees, optimizing the size by storing unchanged files as hard links.
Main features:
Distributed
- The repository is not stored in a central server as in CVS or Subversion, but as a subdirectory inside your working directory, like Arch, Darcs or Linus Torvalds git. Developers communicate via patches.
Cheap branches
- Just copy your tree to another directory and youve started a new branch.
- Old history is easily pruned Legacy revisions can just be deleted or moved to another place with your usual filesystem tools.
Safety
- Any given revision under the repository is a directory with all your files that can be used, copied or stored as-is.
Repository is easily manipulable
- As every revision is stored as plain files, you can delete, add or modify files, or update the commit message without interfering.
No need for special commands to put files under version control
- Just create a file in your working directory and it will automatically be version-controlled. Uninteresting files as object files, libraries or other generated files are automatically ignored. Also, there is support for .cvsignore files.
Small dependencies

For now only supported feed type is RSS (Really Simple Syndication), versions 0.9x and 2.0. Atom and RDF are planned in next release.
The main philosophy behind is to do job the best it can do. This means that there is no built-in web browser, various file types downloader etc. Why? Because we have tools that do this, and do it very well (Navigator, Firefox, wget, etc.).
Current status of develpment is: "initial"; which means, ahem, You know, bugs, crashes, playing Morbid Angel in your sound set...
Until I place some sort of tool for bugs reporting, please mail me for above behaviours.
