NewsCloud Media Platform project is a LAMP-based social network community site for news aggregation and citizen journalism. The system integrates Smarty for template customization.
The NewsCloud Media Platform allows bloggers, developers, communities and organizations to integrate news gathering and discussions between their own Web sites and the NewsCloud community. The NewsCloud Media Platform is open source and can also be used to launch independent news-based community Web sites.

Peachtree Linux is a new Linux distribution being developed by several students/former students at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Since its inception in the fall of 2002, Peachtree Linux has aimed to be a small system for the seasoned Linux user. You wont find GNOME or KDE among Peachtree Linuxs packages, so it might not be the system for you. There are several simple rules we try to follow:
1. No GNOME or KDE.
2. All X11 programs have their binaries, libraries, and headers installed to the /usr/X11R6 tree.
3. All configuration files are placed in /etc.
4. /bin and /lib do not exist, they are soft links to /usr/bin and /usr/lib, respectively.
5. /sbin contains statically compiled programs that can bring a system up from a cold boot, nothing more.
6. We have one program per task. We do not like distributions which offer dozens of MP3 players, or mail clients, or window managers. We do have exceptions to this rule, but we generally stick to it.
Thats more or less the guiding ideas behind the distribution. It is developed in parallel on both PowerPC and i386. Work is being done to port the distribution to Alpha, PA-RISC, and MIPS platforms.
Were not out to change the world with this distribution. We just want to make a system that we like to use. If you like the sound of what were trying to put together, then Peachtree Linux may be for you. If the ideas really dont get you excited, you may want to find another distribution.

FCCU GNU/Linux Forensic Bootable CD is a bootable CD based on KNOPPIX that contains a lot of tools suitable for computer forensic investigatins, including bash scripts.
FCCU GNU/Linux Forensic Boot CDs main purpose is to create images of devices prior to analysis, and it is used by the Belgian Federal Computer Crime Unit.
Main features:
- This CD is based on KNOPPIX by Klauss Knopper.
- It is a remaster that I made to use at my work as a computer forensic investigator.
- Its main purpose is to create images copies of devices before analyse.
- It does not use a lot of cpu cycles for unnecessary programs, that is why it drops you to a shell right after the boot.
- It recognizes lots of hardware (Thanks to Klauss Knopper).
- It leaves the target devices unaltered (It does not use the swap partitions found on the devices).
- It contains a lot of tools with forensic purpose.
Enhancements:
- This release adds a new set of tools that allow an investigator to capture the memory from another host trough the Firewire bus, even if the target host is an MS Windows box.
- A new tool to retrieve images from Thumbs.db (MS win thumbnails cache) was added.
- Rdd, a new forensic image acquisition tool, was added.
- A lot of other tools were added and upgraded.

Cross Platform Toolkit Library (xtklib) is a C++ based framework for highly object-oriented cross-platform programming.
In particular, the library provides a full abstraction layer between its API and the main services offered by the underlying operating system(Thread, processes,GUI,Filesystem,etc.) plus a set of generic utilities (Strings,Data structures,etc.).
Unlike other famous libraries, xtklib makes full use of all features of C++ like RTTI, Templates, Exceptions thus obtaining a strongly object-oriented design with a Java-like sensation.
The library is composed by two main modules: "Base" and "Widgets". The target operating systems are Windows and Unix(Linux and BSD in primis) with a plan to move also towards other systems.

- Fast - Although performance are not the main goal of this library (exceptions and RTTI have a tradeoff in this meaning), code agility and execution speed are often taken in consideration during development, thus leaving a performance advantage compared to interpreted programming languages(eg. Java,C#) or scripting languages(eg. Python,Ruby,Perl).

- This is the first release with a working "Widgets" module, although it has only basic features.
- This release is provided for testing and development only.
