PowerTop project detects which Linux programs and kernel tunables are resulting in the largest power consumption and use of battery time.
Power usage is a hot topic for computer users everywhere. For some, its a matter of how long a laptop lasts without being plugged in. For others, its controlling the temperature of hundreds of systems within a datacenter. For all of us, its about keeping the electricity bill under control and being kind to the environment.
Getting your computer to use the least amount of power can be problematic. This site provides information on reducing power usage, tips, and tricks for Intel-based computers running Linux*.
As a first step, Intel is releasing PowerTOP, a tool that helps you find what software is using the most power. By fixing (or closing) these applications or processes, you can immediately see the power savings in the tool. Youll also see the estimated time left for battery power if you are running a laptop. printerpowerd project is a Daemon to automatically turn a printer on and off.

printerpowerd is a little Python script designed for users of older printers who want to save power when not using their printer, without manually turning it on and off.

It runs, checking the printer queue directory every five seconds, turns it on when it sees a job, and turns it off after a configurable amount of idle time.

It allows you to turn a printer on and off (when idle) using X10 or any other abitrary command.

Tadpoles project is a 4-player action game similar to QBasics Nibbles.

Tadpoles is an action game for up to 4 players with ties to the original "snakes" or "nibbles" game concept. In Tadpoles, you control using a direction and velocity rather than the tired up/down, left/right controls. You can also collect various power-ups.

The game is built on an object-oriented design concept, with the intent to create an adventure game out of the engine.

Adventures on Planet Zephulor was written entirely in Python, using the PyGame library.

The tar.gz file contains the python scripts, including all of the tools written to aid in the creation of levels for the game.

The bulk of the game play involves finding power-ups and hidden areas and avoiding or squashing strange alien monsters bent on your destruction.

There are a few hidden areas, and in several locations, the player will experience different levels based upon which path is chosen.

There are no lives or continues in the game. If the player dies, he/she simply restarts at the beginning of the level. All creatures and power-ups are persistent in each level, in other words, if all but one enemy has been killed on a level when the player dies, there will only be that remaining creature as the player restarts.

There are about 15 levels, and different 5 creature types.

BomberMaze project is a bomberman clone.
It is a multiplayer action game in which players run around a square-grid maze while dropping bombs and collecting power-ups.
The bombs explode after a short time delay, taking out any nearby bricks and players.
