Control C or Linux 1.3
Monitor all data on your clipboard. more>> What is ControlC? Its pretty simple actually. Have you ever copied something on a webpage or in an email that you later needed to look at again but couldnt remember where you saw it?
Have you ever copied a link to a webpage and couldnt for the life of you remember the link later on?
ControlC fixes that. Anytime you copy textual content, ControlC will upload that text to our server to store under your account. When the text is uploaded, it is encrypted using your password as the key (which we will never have access to). When you need to retrieve the text, or would like to share it with other users, you can login to your account and make the items public, or simply review them for your own needs.
You can search other users copied links and text to find other people that share the same interests as you. You can make friendship relationships with other users, and star items of interest to make finding them again easy. You are encouraged to social interact with other users on our site - you will be surprised what you can find when you do!<<less

Postal 0.67
Postal is a SMTP and POP benchmark suite. more>>
Postal suite currently consists of two programs, Postal and Rabid. Postal (the mad postman) is a program that will deliver mail as fast as possible via the SMTP protocol to test mail server performance.
Rabid (the mad Biff) will eat mail via the POP protocol as fast as possible and measure POP server performance. All messages sent via Postal have MD5 checksums appended, and Rabid will check the MD5 to ensure that the messages are not being corrupted.
It works by taking a list of user names and applying random transformations to them to get the FROM and TO addresses, this is because if each email address takes 30 bytes of storage then 1,000,000 accounts would take 30M of RAM. 3,000,000 accounts would take 90M of RAM which would be more than the memory in my test machine (this would cause thrashing and make the benchmark invalid), and it would take ages to load all that data from the hard drive. Using 100,000 accounts and applying a transformation to map them to 30M accounts is a much more efficient use of resources.
When sending the mail the subject and body will be random data. A header field X-Postal will be used so that procmail can easily filter out such email just in case you accidentally put your own email address as one of the test addresses. ;)
For Debian the best thing to do is to do "apt-get install postal", if you dont want to use the version supplied with your version of Debian you can build a Debian package in the usual manner.
Change to the directory containing the unpacked source and use the command:
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -tc -us
That will create a .deb in the parent directory.
For Red Hat etc there is a portslave.spec file to allow for building with
the "rpm -b" command.
For Solaris use the command "make -C sun" to build a package in /var/spool/pkg
(make sure you have write access to that directory).
For other Unix setup "./configure ; make install" should do an install.
Enhancements:
- The license was changed to GPLv3.

HeyStaks Social Search - Google Shared 0.9.7
This is a Firefox addon that works with Google to make it easy for you to organise your searches, and share them with others. more>>
HeyStaks Social Search - Google Shared 0.9.7 is designed to serve users as a Firefox addon that works with Google to make it easy for you to organise your searches, share them with others, and benefit from the searches of your friends and colleagues - all without leaving your favorite search engine!
Search engines like Google do a fine job when it comes to search, but they do little to help us organise our past searches, nor do they make it easy for us to share our search experiences with others. This is more than just an inconvenience because very often we waste time re-searching for results that we know we found earlier. And even more often we find ourselves looking for information that one of our friends or colleagues has already found.
Enhancements:
- Added promotion filters that restrict result promotions in Google to results that have been selected numerous times, that have been tagged, or that have been voted up more times than they have been voted down.
- Added positive/negative promotion filters to stak creation so that users can cause URLs with the specified string to always or never be promoted on Google result pages.
- Result site favicons are used to annotate URLs promoted by positive filters (where available).
- Added timeouts which reset to the private "My Searches" stak after prolonged inactivity, and that expire the use of query terms as default tags and vote terms.
- Voting and page sharing have been added to the activity feed
- Share and remove options are greyed out in the stak menu for staks where this should not be possible (e.g. "My Searches").
- Added "Preview" feature via an icon next to results on the Google result list users can now browse through the result pages without leaving the result list.
- Enabled page sharing and preview features for non logged-in users.
- Improved the formatting of the icons inserted next to results on the Google result page so that they don't "jump" when results are moused-over.

Web Submission and Review Software 0.53
Web Submission and Review Software is a Web-based system that is used for the submission and review of papers. more>>
Web Submission and Review Software is a Web-based system that is used for the submission and review of papers to academic conferences. Web Submission and Review Software provides support for the entire life-cycle of the conference review process.
One of the goals of this software was to make administration as easy as possible. In particular, you never need to run scripts etc. In principle, to install this software you just unpack the zip file in some directory in your web tree (call it the BASE directory), point your browser at that directory and off you go.
I will very much appreciate any comments that you can give me regarding this software.
Enhancements:
Changes to chair/administrator interface:
- Added Undo/Redo link to the administration page
- Re-implemented the voting mechanism to allow multiple concurrent ballots
- Let the chair play with assignments of submissions to reviewers before these assignments are visible to the reviewers
- Let the chair manage PC membership, Edit review guidelines and setup votes also during the submission phase
Changes to reviewer interface:
- Allow reviewers to login to the site (and vote in ballots if any) also during the submission phase
- Added support for batch upload of reviews in a scorecard file
- Backup old versions of reviews and let reviewers browse the old versions of their reviews (this is useful, e.g., if they overwite somethign by mistake)

The Revisionist 0.02b
The Revisionist is a tool for extracting and indexing hidden metadata. more>>
The Revisionist is a tool for extracting and indexing hidden metadata (such as deleted or modified text) from large collections of MS Word files.
It can operate whole Web sites or SMB or NFS directories. The Revisionist project is handy for pen-testing, or it can be used just to spot embarrassing secrets.
My primary goal is to provide pen-testers and content administrators with a handy tool to detect hidden data in all documents available at a specific location (be it a locally mounted network share, a HTTP site, or whatnot), and easily review it all.
Right now, the tool only detects and indexes deleted text in documents with "change tracking" enabled, and can also index usernames and hardware addresses embedded in documents (to facilitate external assessment of company structure); future versions should be able to recover other goodies, too.
Usage:
To run the tool against a local directory, a mounted SMB or NFS directory, or such, simply issue the following command (after doing make, that is):
./therev @/path/to/directory
After the tool completes, you should be able to view master.html in current directory using your favourite browser (Lynx, Netscape, etc). Cached copies of documents would be placed in subdirectories named document.XXXXXX, where X is a random digit; hence, it is recommended to run the tool in a separate directory.
Note that you may also instruct the tool to look for specific substring and only choose those documents that contain it (strict checking, no regexp available):
./therev linux @/path/to/directory
To run the program against a specific site or top-level domain, do the following:
./therev site.com
Note that com, gov, gov.pl, www.microsoft.com are all a valid site name. The first parameter works similar to the previous case:
./therev homeland security gov
As a special bonus, when running the script against multilinguinal sites, you might want to specify a third parameter - desired language (using a two-letter code: en, pl, etc). NOTE: DO NOT USE LANGUAGE QUALIFIER UNLESS NECESSARY:
./therev linux microsoft.com en
The HTTP search mode uses Google.com to locate all matching Word documents on a specific site. For a document to be found, it must be indexable (that is, not excluded in robots.txt) and be in the first 1000 of results for a specific site. If there are more than 1000 documents at some website, consider sub-searches with keywords.
Enhancements:
- This release was fixed to work with the new Google page layout.
- Some other minor fixes were made.
