Free zip files software for linux

This application has been written in Python using the wonderful wxPython libraries.

You can use it to compare a local directory (and the sub-directories) with a remote directory. Its useful to synchronize of your most important directories on a server (or USB drive) with your local directories. All in one simple click.

An another very useful situation is when more than one people can modify some files. With this tool, you can always get the last versions on your local directory and Synchronize your local directories with the server.

You can check more than one directory in one process.

The program prompt the user, to be sure that he want to synchronize those directories ( and sub-directories).

The user can refuse to synchronize some specific files or a whole sub-directory.

DirsSync allows you to select which type of files must not be synchronized. For example you can say that all .zip files must no be synchronized any more. This selection is specific for each directory.

GXMame is a frontend for XMame using the GTK library, the goal is to provide the same GUI than mame32. For the moment it will just have the same gui, the final goal is to be able to share config files with Mame32k (or any version of mame32 that write config files instead of saving data into windows registry) allowing dual booter to have the same environment (favorite, timeplayed, last game selected, gui preference...) under windows and Linux.
I wanted to learn GTK and have a decent frontend for xmame, gnomame didnt work on my computer and I didnt like other front end in Tk, so I decided to start this project, just after I discovered gRustibus, the very good front-end from Kjetil Thuen. I took this front end as a model for the creation of GXMame Im not sure that I could have go so far and so quickly without this model.

My Photo Gallery is a Web-based photo gallery that also supports non-image filetypes. It is easy to setup and even easier to maintain.
Slick-looking image galleries and thumbnails are generated on the fly from any root directory that you specify. Albums can be created using the included Web-based adiminstration tool or by creating a directory and copying your pictures and files to that directory.
A Web administration interface is available to help add descriptions, rename images, rotate images (losslessly), and more. It includes advanced features such as image logging, renaming, resizing, image rotation, smilies, and visitor comments.

AdvanceCOMP is a collection of recompression utilities for your .ZIP archives, .PNG snapshots, .MNG video clips and .GZ files.
Its mainly intended for recompressing your rom, snapshot and clip collection of emulated games.
Main features:
- Recompress ZIP, GZ, PNG and MNG files using the Deflate 7-Zip implementation.
- Recompress MNG files using Delta and Move optimization.
Enhancements:
- This release fixed a lot of bugs for 64-bit platforms.

Desktop Multiplier project is a software add-on that allows your dual-head Linux PC support two independent users.

Desktop Multiplier is a set of standard Linux packages that extends the X Window System to support up to 10 fully independent and concurrent workstations and users on a single computer box.

This is accomplished by adding video cards, USB keyboards and mice to a single standard computer. Desktop Multiplier is compatible with all single and dual-headed video cards supported by X.Org/XFree86 and has been tested on most major 2.6 kernel Linux distributions (see /supported systems/
for details).

Desktop Multiplier is delivered as a single zip file containing either a .RPM or .DEB package and supports a variety of Linux distributions.

Utilities package:

This package includes programs, scripts and config files for system configuration, keyboard/mouse assignment and device hot-plug capabilities. Files are named:

- 1box-utils-k26-< version >.i386.rpm (For RPM package-based systems)

- 1box-utils-k26-< version >.i386.deb (For DEB package-based systems)

Multi-station X server package:

This package contains the Userful Multi-Station X-Server, which supports multiple simultaneous local users. Files are named:

- 1box-server-xorg-< version >.i386.rpm (For RPM package based systems)

- 1box-server-xorg-< version >.i386.deb (For DEB package based systems)

DualView functionality:

Desktop Multipliers DualView functionality enables each station to support up to five users each of whom has an individual desktop that spans two monitors. You can configure monitors to use DualView during the Desktop Multiplier installation process. Note that the two monitors that display a DualView desktop must be connected to the same video card.

libcomprex library transparently handles automatic compression and decompression of files and archives located locally, online, or even in other compressed archives.

The API is similar to Cs built-in file access functions, which provides a smooth transition to libcomprex.

libcomprex can also open uncompressed files, making it a good replacement for the native file access functions.

libcomprex can currently open ar, bzip2, cpio, gzip, tar, and zip files. It supports basic archive writing in some formats. The API is very volatile, and development should be done against the CVS version.

Extended Universal Resource Library is a pure Java library for cleaner, more flexible file access in Java.
How data is stored is completely transparent to the client, since the library is meant to replace java.io.File.
It provides implementations for handling local files, Jar/Zip archives, and XML documents. (Implementations for CVS and FTP are available seperately.) Other storage providers can be written and plugged in.
It also provides a merged filesystem implementation that allows multiple hierarchies to appear as one and to override each other in a controlled way. Other features include notification of changes to files, and support for attaching (dynamically updatable) actions to file objects.
Filesystems are an abstraction on top of java.io.File (in the case of local files), that provide a number of useful things:
- File storage is completely abstracted - third parties can create support for access to file-like objects stored in an arbitrary manner, such as in a database, or in a version control system.
- Built-in support for ZIP/JAR archives and XML-based filesystems and the ability to transparently use other filesystems supported by NetBeans (such as the FTP filesystem) by adding the necessary classes
- Supports listening for change events if a file is externally modified
- Ability to add arbitrary "status" data to a file object and be notified of changes on it
- Support for actions on file objects, allowing you to define what actions are possible on a given file (and dynamically update these), and then expose those actions through your user interface.

mod_ziplook offers is a zip-file browsing module that can send files with gzip transfer-encoding.
Main features:
- Whole directory structure of ZIP-file can be seen.
- Separate files can be seen easily (/xxxx.zip/dir/afile.html)
- In case of directories index.html is looked. (/y/x.zip/dir/ => /y/x.zip/dir/index.html)
- Handles If-Modified-Since and NotModified-status
- If your browser supports gzip content-encoding and documents in ZIP-archive are "Deflate"-compressed: module changes files to gzip format in fly. This makes things very fast (and server cpu & network capasity is saved)
Module uses miniunzip - unzip library and that uses zlib
Install and config:
- Module needs zlib in your computer
A. Open tar.gz - file.
B. find your apxs (apache module handling script)
C. Compile (with zlib)
apxs -c mod_ziplook.c -lz
D. Run installing script (as root is needed)
apxs -i -a mod_ziplook.so
E. Add handler to for zip-files in httpd.conf (look mod_mime.c section)
AddHandler ziplook zip
F. Restart your apache
G. Seek an zip-file and try with it.
