MP3 Streamer 2.3
MP3 Streamer streams MP3 files with an easy Web interface. more>>
This module enables to listen to mp3-streams according to certain security policies (enabled user). The mp3s do not have to be in the web-servers document root.
Main features:
- XHTML compliant.
- Admin interface allows you to change position, visibility and title of the stream playlist Box.
- You dont have to fiddle around with config files. Interface is provided to configure the paths etc., user access and reset the access counter.
- Dynamic directory parsing for mp3-files
- mp3-file names are not held in a database as the File/Directory names are used to create the displayed Songs, album titles etc. as mp3 tags extraction capabilities are not included in php by default.
- Artist, Album, mp3-file browsable
- Playlist handling capabilities with playlist editor
- Demo mode for guests possible, e.g. streaming not enabled.
- Clicking on a Song will send a mpeg-url type information to the mp3-player application such as winamp or xmms. (Tested under linux with xmms only).
Version restrictions:
- The software only searches through 2 Directory structures. It is meant to go through: $mp3dir/Artist-Name/Album-Name/mp3-files.mp3 It however detects files in the Artist-Directory and shows these accordingly. As I didnt use this function, I dont know what it looks like though.

Jinamp Is Not An Mp3 Player 1.0.5
Jinamp is primarily a music shuffler for command line junkies. more>>
Jinamp is primarily a music shuffler for command line junkies. Jinamp runs in the background and does not require X or even a terminal.
A control program allows limited control over the playing (pause, next song, etc., but no seeking).
The actual playing is done by other programs, so it can be adapted for other purposes, such as shuffling video clips for advertising.
Enhancements:
- The control tools have been improved, in particular making once-off song requests possible.

EmbedCover is a script for embedding album cover images in MP3 files. EmbedCover script will automatically look up the image associated to it in amaroK and embed this image in the file.
The MP3 file must have an ID3-V2 tag, otherwise the script will abort, and the file must be in your Collection.
It is recommended that you back up your MP3 file before using this script on it.
Although the script is designed not to harm your file, the operation is not reversible and should therefore be used with caution.
Future versions will also be able to remove embedded cover images from a file.

Mp3 renamer 2006 by MiKe is a shell script for Linux. MP3 renamer goes by the Unix name of rename-mp3. It looks at MP3 files in a Directory and, using id3v2, will rename all the mp3 files in a nice format according to the id3 tags rename-mp3 will look at both v1 and v2 id3 tags, and will make the output file in a Title-Album-Artist.mp3 format.
It saves time, and not only will it read the id3 tags, but in the event that the MP3 file has no id3 tags, you will be given 4 options
1)abort 2)skip 3)rename 4)write id3 tags, and you are asked what you would like the id3 tag artist, track name and album to be.
This is great if you want the track to be easy to view and yet you still like having a library of music that is all tagged nicely!

An MP3 LEnder 0.4.0
An MP3 LEnder is a simple MP3 server written in C. more>>
An MP3 LEnder is a simple MP3 server written in C.
AMPLE is short for "A MP3 LEnder" (interesting name just to make a good abbreviation?)
I wrote AMPLE one summer when I was coding for a company and got fed up with having to FTP over all my MP3 files from my home server to the computer at work just to listen to them. And the other "MP3 servers" I could find didnt fit my needs for one of the following reasons:
Depended on libfoo, libbar, python, perl, php3, Apache, libssl, etc, etc, etc...I just wanted to listen to the files
Had a lot of features for "DJ:ing" etc that I really didnt need
Well....it was fun to write too :)
So whats good with AMPLE?
Small, standalone (written in C using no external libraries)
Portable (I think), I often try to compile it on the SourceForge compile farms
Allows you to listen to your own MP3s away from home, nothing more, nothing less
This is beginning to sound like marketing cr*p so Ill just stop right there, check out the links on the left for more info.
Enhancements:
- Make ID3v2 code understand versions 2.2.0 -> 2.4.0 (all currently existing versions)
- Reformat HTML output somewhat
- Fix search-and-replace error in libwrap code
- Made servername a config option
- Renamed -r to -n (NON-recursive)
- Changed the DEF_LOGFILE (it pointed to ample.conf instead of ample.log)
- Much work on autoconf stuff, should work much better now
- Some more testing on other architectures (Ive compiled it on everything from Tru64 to Linux to *BSD)

SimPlEdi project is a webbased playlist (m3u) editor for mp3 files which are used in popular music players like Winamp or XMMS.
The filelocations are stored relative to the playlist location which makes it possible to use the generated lists on changing environments as mounted network drives or CDROMs.
Installation:
Make sure you have the MP3::Info perl module installed. If not do so:
# perl -MCPAN -e shell
cpan> install MP3::Info
Copy all files to a directory below your webserver root. Make sure your server executes CGIs from this directory.
Attention: This program is not intended to run on a public accessable webserver! It is not secure! You have been warned.
Configuration
Edit the config.pl file. All paths have to be given without trailing slashes. Specify where your mp3 collection is in $REALDIR. $WEBDIR is the path to your mp3s when accessed via http, $RELDIR is the relative path from the location of your playlists which is stored in $SAVEDIR. Note: The webserver have to be allowed to write in $SAVEDIR
SimPlEdi can edit ID3 tags of MP3 files. If you wish it can rename the filename, too. Set $RENAMEONTAG to 1 if you want that for default else set it to 0. You can define how a file should be named by set up the string in $MP3SYNTAX with the following placeholders:
%a Artist or Bandname
%t Songtitle
%d Album
%c Filecomment
%y Releaseyear
%n Track number
%g Genre
You may change the colorscheme by altering the style.css stylesheet.

Apache::MP3::Resample 4.00
Apache::MP3::Resample can downsample MP3/FLAC/Shorten files during streaming. more>>
Apache::MP3::Resample can downsample MP3/FLAC/Shorten files during streaming.
SYNOPSIS

AddType audio/flac .flac
Alias /apache_mp3 /usr/share/libapache-mp3-perl
< Location /songs >

PerlSetVar CacheDir /var/cache/Apache::MP3
PerlSetVar AllowDownload no

PerlSetVar Fields Track,Title,Artist,Album,Duration,Bitrate
< /Location >
Apache::MP3::Resample subclasses Apache::MP3::Playlist to allow the user to downsample audio files before streaming them. This allows users on slower connections to stream songs. When this module is installed, a menu of bitrates is presented in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. The user can choose from one of the bitrates, or select a mode that performs no resampling. The selected bitrate is maintained in a persistent cookie so that resampling is performed whenever the user returns to the site.
This module requires a command-line MP3 encoder to resample and reencode the audio data. If not otherwise specified, Apache::MP3::Resample will try to use the Open Source Lame MP3 encoder. This utility is available at http://www.sulaco.org/mp3. Version 3.90 was used during the development of this module. Your results with other versions may vary.
When you install Lame (or the encoder of your choice), be sure to place it in a directory located in Apaches PATH so that the module can find them at run time. You may need to set the PATH environment variable during Apaches launch, or by explicitly adding a SetEnv directive to the Apache configuration file.
You should be aware that the decoding/reencoding process is CPU-intensive, and server performance may degrade as the number of simultaneous users increases.

Renameit 0.0.2b
renameit is an MP3 filename standardizer. more>>
renameit is an MP3 filename standardizer. It formats your MP3 filenames based on the ID3 tag info, removes embedded spaces, and notifies you when an MP3 has no ID3 tag.
This is an example for usage:
Some Song from some album.mp3 with ID3 Artist of "Some Dudez" and ID3 Trackname of "Some Song" ends up beingSome_Song(Some_Dudez).mp3
./addtag FileToBeTagged.mp3
It will prompt you for artist and track name, add the tag, and then move
the file up to the mp3s directory, where you can run renameit on it.
./batchrenameit
It will get all the mp3 filenames in top directory, and call renameit for
each.
./edittag FileToBeEdited.mp3
Displays current ID3 tag and prompts for edit. After edit, calls
renameit.
./batchtag
Mass file tagger. Gets all mp3 filenames in need_id3 directory and calls
addtag for each.
./batchtagedit
It will get all the mp3 filenames in this directory tree, and call edittag
for each. Great for adjusting things like bands named Perl Jam..altho that
might be a kewl name for a band ;)
./makeindexfile
This builds index.html for all mp3 files in this directory tree. The
index will only show the mp3 files.
