POPsearch is a personal search engine that is designed to help you easily organize and find information on your computer. POPsearch lets you index your entire collection of email messages and files. This collection can then be searched remotely from any computer that has a web browser.
POPsearch has features thatre especially appealing to the programming community because it actively allows you to expose and classify data relationships.
Think of POPsearch as a new type of Relationship Engine for your daily flow of information.

When POPsearch is configured correctly, you can also access your POPsearch data remotely from any computer that has a web browser.

When the indexing is finished, the data is available for analysis with any web browser or in a batch mode from the command line.
The following features are available when POPsearch interacts with a web browser:
- If your computer maintains a connection to the Internet, you can access your POPsearch data remotely from any computer that has a web browser.
- The user can navigate through the entire collection of files and email.
- Popular sources of information are displayed as the user navigates through the data.
- References from/to files are expandable.
- The user can search the entire collection or specific directories.
- The user can also narrow the scope of the search to specific types of data or directories.
- The user can save searches, and mark the valuable items thatre contained in the search results.
- Search results can be expanded through the use of a thesaurus.
- Search results can also be expanded through the use of automatic spell checking.
- The system supports wild card searching (e.g. *string or string*).
- When viewing email topics, the user has the ability to "mine" the email for active and casual participants. For each participant, the user is able to determine the types of information that the user is most interested in.
- Email messages are automatically rated for positive or negative content.
- For every file and email message, the system displays a thumbnail representation of the data.
- The user is able to classify files, saved searches, email, and web sites into various personal research topics. The user also has the ability to search in their personal research.
- Comments can be attached to files and email messages.
- The user can apply personal ratings to files and email messages.
- A collection of themes allows the user to customize the look and feel of the POPsearch interface.
From the command line, POPsearch creates HTML output for CGI purposes, or XML output for other applications.
POPsearch is currently designed to run on *nix platforms.

rwdshell uses the RubyWebDialogs GUI to run shell commands in a Web browser. It uses the rwdtinker framework for removal and installation of applets.

The Modular Manual Browser is a set scripts designed as a man/apropos work-alike. It indexes manual pages across different operating systems and displays them in a searchable database in a Web browser.
It is easy to set up and includes highlighting, linking support in man pages, browsing and searching of pages, categories, and manuals.
It can also optionally set up a database containing descriptions of pages from the page titles.

Mazesmith generates mazes that may be played through a Web browser or printed for offline use.
The maze is fully customizable with many options, including size, colors, different shapes (or create your own), five different algorithms, and the ability to create a Braided maze.
Version restrictions:
- Going left at the start, and going right at the end, of a toolkit table will make the marker disappear, and issue a javascript error.
Enhancements:
- Added ability to shift the design in the style toolkit.

Web Ping is a program for testing your internet connection.

Web Ping is a simple application to test an internet connection to a perticular site. I created this application after my work moved locations and half our network stayed in the old building and the other half moved with us to the new location.

A flaky (significant point) VPN was set up to keep the two connected. Since a couple of the unmoved servers were of interest to me, I keeped checking to see if they were still accessable with the ping command before doing any serious work with them.

A quick and pathetic Google resulted in no other program that meet my needes, so I wrote one.

Insted of doing an actual network ping, Web Ping tests a connection by downloading a web page on a given server. The size of the page and time are stored in memory and the times are graphed. In this way, sites that block network a ping can still be tracked.

Web Ping also keeps track of the largest and smallest download times per session and also tracks the max and min values currently on the graph. Times of interest are graphed in a color which represents if it is a max or a min. (see figure one). The history tab also lists all the max values as they have been recevied.

A running average is also calculated with each download. The files downloaded are not processed or stored in any way. This prevents any security problems that can normaly happen in a web browser enviroment. The only two pecies of information retained about a downloaded file is the size and time.

Usage:

There are two ways to use Web Ping, GUI or CLI mode. The simplest of the two modes is CLI. Web Ping can be started in CLI mode by passing a url to the jar file in a command line interface like this: "java -jar WebPing.jar http://localhost". Web Ping will automaticly start getting statistics on the requested url, printing results to the screnn.

To quite, press q and then then ENTER key. CLI allows the user to Most people will probably want to use the GUI mode which has a history graph and allows the user to start and stop the session.

The best way to run Web Ping is in GUI mode. GUI mode allows the user start and stop the ping process at will and to change the site that is pinged. Users can also see more information about about the history of the pings and view max values and min values easily. There are three tabs on the top of the page, the first is the application, second is the history list, and the last give information about the application.

A Jacks Game is a real-time game that runs in a Web browser using the AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) technology.

Multiple users can login in A Jacks Game to explore a common map and earn a common currency as their score.
