libdvdcss 1.2.9

libdvdcss 1.2.9

libdvdcss is a portable abstraction library for transparent DVD access with CSS decryption. more>>
libdvdcss is a cross-platform library for transparent DVD device access with on-the-fly CSS decryption. It currently runs under Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, BSD/OS, Solaris, BeOS, Win95/Win98, Win2k/WinXP, MacOS X, HP-UX, QNX, and OS/2.
It is used by libdvdread and most DVD players such as VLC because of its portability and because, unlike similar libraries, it does not require your DVD drive to be region locked.
Main features:
- Portability. Currently supported platforms are GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, BSD/OS, BeOS, Windows 95/98, Windows NT/2000, MacOS X, Solaris, and HP-UX.
- Simplicity. There are currently 7 functions in the API, and we intend to keep this number low.
- Freedom. libdvdcss is released under the General Public License, ensuring it will stay free, and used only for free software products.
- Just better. Unlike most similar projects, libdvdcss doesnt require the region of your drive to be set.
Enhancements:
- more robust key caching
- support for cache directory tags
- improved seeking on win32
- support for Solaris libsmedia library

libdvdplay 1.0.1

libdvdplay 1.0.1

libdvdplay is a simple library designed for DVD navigation. more>>
libdvdplay is a simple library designed for DVD navigation. It depends on libdvdread (which can optionally use libdvdcss).
NOTE: libdvdplay is no longer under active development. VLC has switched to libdvdnav which appears to be more reliable for DVD navigation than libdvdplay. Of course you are still welcome to use, work or submit patches to libdvdplay.
Currently supported platforms are Unix, Windows, BeOS and Mac OS X, but it should work on almost any platform.
Enhancements:
- dvdplay_seek() now also works inside VMGM_DOMAIN and VTSM_DOMAIN.
- a couple of initialisation fixes.

X-Chat NewsWindow 1.0

X-Chat NewsWindow 1.0

X-Chat NewsWindow is a perl script for X-Chat. more>>
X-Chat NewsWindow is a perl script for X-Chat (or X-Chat Aqua) implements one of those annoying announcer scripts that announce your currently playing audio track in iTunes or your current audio or video track in VLC to your IRC channel because you feel for some reason that everyone wants to know.

I basically consider this script to be a better counterattack than just abusing the annoying mIRC users and getting the usual ignorant "pfft. sif mac" response. Since VLCs meta-data support leaves a bit to be desired, it obtains the album name from the containing folders name and the track name from the filename (minus the extension). This works quite well if you have a well labelled music collection. Note: If you use this script, exercise discretion. Not everyone cares what youre listening to.

To use this, you must first turn on logging in VLC. To do this, open VLCs preferences, and under the "Interface > Control Interfaces" preference page, tick the "File Logging" option. Then under the "Interface > Control Interfaces > Logging" page, enter "/tmp/vlc_log.txt" as the log filename. You can choose a different name or location if you wish, but if you do, change the path definition to it in the vlc_announce function below. You may have to choose the "Add Interface > Debug Logging" menu option (under the VLC menu) if VLC hasnt already turned it on via the preferences change.

MythDora 3.2

MythDora 3.2

MythDora is now using FC5 along with MythTV-0.20 all on DVD. more>>
MythDora 3.0 is now using FC5 along with MythTV-0.20 all on DVD. This DVD will install on various PVR builds. A few changes have been made since the 2.32 version. Hopefully good ones. One big change is that version 3.0 now runs on an SMP kernel. Another big change is that MythDora-3.0 now uses KDE and goes onto a DVD rather than a CD. With change and additions, things just couldnt fit on a CD any longer. The ISO size isnt too much bigger, about 940mb total.
There will no longer be any need for a Unichrome version as the needed bits are now in the modular Xorg-7.0. What is now being used is a single Openchrome Via rpm from the Epia repository at washington.kelkoo.net. This should be enough to allow hardware acceleration for Epia mainboards and S3 video card users.
Please read the F.A.Q. if you have any initial questions. Also look over the README file thats located on your disk. This is where you will find instructions on certain parts of MythDora. There is also an Install Notes at the top of this page which gives you a general idea of how to set things up in mythtvsetup.
MythDora 3.0 uses an auto installer that allows your system to install only on the first hard drive and not on your remaining physical hard drives. The installer uses LVM which will allow you to add another HD to your volume group if you so choose.
For those of you new to MythDora, the easiest way to install would be to use the auto install feature. This will install every package on the disk, automatically format your disk(s), create a user mythtv, setup networking, setup MythTV etc., all on the fly. When mythtvsetup finishes, mythfilldatabase will automatically start but only if you have chosen an all-in-one setup and have a valid Data Direct subscription. XMLTV users will need to run mythfilldatabase --manual in the provided xterm screen if need be. After that a reboot will take place as this seems to install your tuner card(s) a little better.
Please be sure to make the appropriate changes in the frontend setup in order for things to work correctly. This may include sound working properly, bitrate adjustment, resolution or changing channels etc.
One thing you need to make sure of is when you install in either auto or custom, please make sure you disable selinux during install !!!
Its also recommended that you do not do an "apt-get dist-upgrade" , "apt-get upgrade" or "yum upgrade" as you run the risk of breaking something. You have been warned!!.
I really want to thank those of you who gave me feedback during the beta testing. This couldnt have been done without. I really appreciate it.
Also I want to thank one of our members here, inm8, for creating the kickass new logo for MythDora. He did an outstanding job and I dont think youll be disappointed. I also added in some more eye candy for your viewing pleasure.
Enhancements:
This is a second bugfix release to version 3.0. Hopefully the last. This is mainly to give Nvidia users the chance to install Legacy drivers for older video cards. I also included a new mythstreamtv rpm with corrected code that should allow you to kill the vlc stream now. Thanks to Jeffrey Kosowsky.
- Added older 8776 Nvidia drivers
- Corrected mythstreamtv
- Updated to latest stable kernel 2.6.18-1.2257.fc5smp
- Updated to MythTV 0.20-148
- Updated ivtv 0.8.2-123
- Added two new remotes (Nebula & Technisat)

AcetoneISO 6.7 Advance

AcetoneISO 6.7 Advance

AcetoneISO script was made to simplify the mount of file *.iso . more>>
These two scripts were made to simplify the mount of file *.iso . AcetoneISO is perfectly integrated in KDE and it takes use of KDESU.

They are 2 simply scripts that autamatically creates a folder on Your Desktop and mounts the ISO file that is on the Deskop. Be sure that on your desktop there is only 1 iso file or else it will mount the iso file giving priority(i suppose) to the ascii code.

HOW TO USE :

1) mount and unmount ISO and MDF(if iso-9660 standard)
2) Convert BIN/CUE, MDF, DAT, NRG, CCD/IMG, CDI, XBOX to ISO
3) Burn Your ISO, CUE, TOC images directly in K3b
4) verify md5sum of image files
5) ability to create ISO from Folder and CD/DVD
6) Mount, unmount, create ISO from Folder or CD/DVD from servicemenu
7) Play a DVD-Movie ISO with Kaffeine, Mplayer or VLC from GUI or servicemenu(only kaffeine)
8) Split ISOs in smaller files of 649MB or 125MB ad merge them
9) Force the mount/eject of a CD/DVD media in your device

GNU CD Input and Control Library 0.78.2

GNU CD Input and Control Library 0.78.2

The GNU Compact Disc Input and Control library encapsulates CD-ROM reading and control for applications wishing to be oblivious. more>>
GNU CD Input and Control Library (libcdio) encapsulates CD-ROM reading and control. The libcdio package contains a library which encapsulates CD-ROM reading and control. Applications wishing to be oblivious of the OS- and device-dependent properties of a CD-ROM can use this library.
Some support for on-disk CD-image types like CDRWINs BIN/CUE format, cdrdaos TOC format, and Neros NRG format is available. Therefore, applications that use this library also have the ability to read on-disk CD images as though they were CDs.
A library for working with ISO-9660 filesystems (libiso9660) is included. A generic interface for issuing MMC (multimedia commands) is also part of the libcdio library.
The cdparanoia library and cdparanoia command are included making this the only single-source cdparanoia that works on FreeBSD, cygwin, Solaris, BSDI as well as GNU/Linux.
Some uses of the library:
- Video CD authoring and ripping tools VCDImager
- VCD and/or CD-DA plugins for media players:
xine
videolans vlc.
gmerlin.
mplayerxp.
- kiso, a KDE GUI for creating, extracting and editing ISO 9660 images
- a Samba vfs module that that allows exporting a CD without mounting it
Utility programs in the libcdio package are:
cd-info
a program which displays CD information: number of tracks, CD-format and if possible basic information about the format. If libcddb is available, the cd-info program will display CDDB matches on CD-DA discs. And if a new enough version of libvcdinfo is available (from the vcdimager project), then cd-info shows basic VCD information.
cd-drive
a program which decribes CD-ROM/DVD drive characteristics
cd-paranoia
a program for extracting audio from a CD in a jitter- and error-tolerant way.
cd-read
a program for performing low-level block reading of a CD or CD image
cdda-player
a curses program using the audio controls to play a CD-DA through the audio output port.
iso-info
a program for displaying ISO-9660 information from an ISO-9660 image
iso-read
a program for extracting files from an ISO-9660 image.
Enhancements:
- A minor compilation problem was fixed.

Keep Listening 0.1.1

The project is a simple program using xine code from mplayer (thanks!) to download BBC Listen Again streams.
Simply open the "Listen with External Real Player" links with this program and you can save the Real audio file. Play it with mplayer, vlc, or even Real Player (their linux player is actually quite good amazingly).
To build it you just need Qt 4. If it doesnt work, you might want to generate mplayers config.h for your system, and then copy it over libreal/config.h
Ive also included a binary that might possible work if you are lucky, but this is linux so it probably wont.
Anyway, enjoy! Also Mark Thomas - legend.
PS: If someone wants to make some packages that automatically do the association thing, that would be great!
PPS: Progress bar is approximate - it will take as long to download as the programme lasts.
To install, do something like:
qmake
make
sudo make install
Then (for KDE):
Go to a BBC listen again stream. Download the .ram file linked to by "Listen in External Real Player".
Right click it->properties->Type: Edit file type->Add Application->/usr/bin/keeplistening
Enhancements:
- Fixed compilation errors (kdevelop assumed absolute paths)
- Close on errors
- Added auto-close checkbox (on by default)
- Ignore lines starting with ## in ram files.
