HTML Tidy

HTML Tidy

HTML Tidy cleans up HTML source and formats it nicely. more>>
HTML TIDY is a free utility to fix mistakes made while editing HTML and to automatically tidy up sloppy editing into nicely layed out markup. It also works great on the atrociously hard to read markup generated by specialized HTML editors and conversion tools, and can help you identify where you need to pay further attention on making your pages more accessible to people with disabilities.
When editing HTML its easy to make mistakes. Wouldnt it be nice if there was a simple way to fix these mistakes automatically and tidy up sloppy editing into nicely layed out markup? Well now there is! Dave Raggetts HTML TIDY is a free utility for doing just that. It also works great on the atrociously hard to read markup generated by specialized HTML editors and conversion tools, and can help you identify where you need to pay further attention on making your pages more accessible to people with disabilities.
Tidy is able to fix up a wide range of problems and to bring to your attention things that you need to work on yourself. Each item found is listed with the line number and column so that you can see where the problem lies in your markup. Tidy wont generate a cleaned up version when there are problems that it cant be sure of how to handle. These are logged as "errors" rather than "warnings".
Dave Raggett has now passed the baton for maintaining Tidy to a group of volunteers working together as part of the open source community at Source Forge. The source code continues to be available under an open source license, and you are encouraged to pass on bug reports and enhancement requests at http://tidy.sourceforge.net.
If you find HTML Tidy useful and you would like to say thanks, then please send me a (paper) postcard or other souvenir from the area in which you live along with a few words on what you are using Tidy for. It will be fun to map out where Tidy users are to be found! My postal address is given at the end of this file.
The W3C public email list devoted to HTML Tidy is: . To subscribe send an email to html-tidy-request@w3.org with the word subscribe in the subject line (include the word unsubscribe if you want to unsubscribe). The archive for this list is accessible online. If you would like to contact the developers, or you just want to submit an enhancement request or a bug report, please visit http://tidy.sourceforge.net.
Tidy can now perform wonders on HTML saved from Microsoft Word 2000! Word bulks out HTML files with stuff for round-tripping presentation between HTML and Word. If you are more concerned about using HTML on the Web, check out Tidys "Word-2000" config option! Of course Tidy does a good job on Word97 files as well!

Minimalist Admin is a very simple Web interface for the Minimalist mailing lists manager. more>>
Minimalist Admin is a very simple Web interface for the Minimalist mailing lists manager.

Installation:

1. Unarchive Minimalist Manager

Make sure that you are in your WWW directory and then unarchive the Minimalist Manager archive (whatever the filename is):

$ tar -zxvf minimalist-manager-0.3.tgz

2. Configure

Check the config.inc file. There you can specify settings that are relevant to your setup.

3. Create list configuration

The list information is taken from the lists.lst file from Minimalist.

In the directory /lists you find 2 files. One .css file in which you can modify the appearance of the subscribe/unsubscribe window. And one config file, in which relevant information which describes the mailinlist.

You have to create at least the config file per list. If there is no css file it will use the toplevel stylesheet located in the root of Minimalist Manager.

4. Done

This is all that is needed. Fire up your browser and go to the site that you specified to host Minimalist Manager.

SingleSub provides a set of tools to make it easier to subscribe to RSS feeds. more>>
The purpose of SingleSub is to a provide a set of tools to make it easier to subscribe to RSS feeds.

It consists of one Perl script and a set of XSLT templates, which provide RSS, HTML and Javascript tools used to subscribe to RSS feeds without restricting them to a specific aggregator.

Instead, a dynamic list of aggregators is provided for the user to choose from. This list of RSS aggregators and how to subscribe to them is provided via several XML formats, so other tool developers can use them as well.

Gozirra 0.4.1

Gozirra 0.4.1

Gozirra (previously SERStomp) is a lightweight client and server implementation of the Stomp (TTMP) protocol. more>>
Gozirra is a lightweight implementation of the Stomp specification. As of the first release it includes both client and server implementations for Java. The name stinks, and may change.
Stomp (previously TTMP) is a simple publish/subscribe messaging protocol. Its main attraction, to me at least, is its simplicity and focus. A Ruby client comes out to 107 lines of code.
The Java server and client of this project fit in a jarball about 14KB large. You can easily communicate with a Stomp server via telnet, and it provides publish, subscribe, receipts, and transactions. It is everything you need for a lightweight communication protocol.
Gozirra is not intended to be a scalable standalone MOM solution. While it can be run in standalone mode, it is really targetted at being a library for providing embedded messaging to other applications. If you want a more feature full messaging provider, check out ActiveMQ, the reference platform for Stomp.
Enhancements:
- Several synchronization bugs have been fixed, and documentation has been improved.
- Commands and headers are trimmed of whitespace, making for more relaxed interpretation.
- An authentication framework has been added.
- The project name was changed.

RLog 1.3.7

RLog 1.3.7

RLog provides a flexible message logging facility for C++ programs and libraries. more>>
RLog is a software that provides a flexible message logging facility for C++ programs and libraries.
It is subscription based, meaning you can subscribe to messages of your choice in an number of ways: by hierarchical channel name (e.g. "debug", "debug/ special", "error", etc.), or filename, component name, etc.
Log messages are individually enabled. It is meant to be fast enough to leave in production code - even where it may be called many times, as both the GCC and Intel compilers reduce the logging overhead a few clock cycles if they are dormant (with no subscribers).
Other add-on components can extend subscriptions to external programs, allowing you to enable and collect debugging messages remotely.
Usage:
In order to begin using RLog in your code, you should do the following:
define RLOG_COMPONENT in your build environment. Eg: librlog is built with -DRLOG_COMPONENT="rlog".
You should use a unique name for your program or library (do not use "rlog"). If your program is made up of separate components, then you can define RLOG_COMPONENT as a different name for each component.
(optional) add a call to RLogInit() in your main program startup code. This is not a requirement, however not including it may reduce functionality of external rlog modules.
link with librlog
add subscribers (rlog::StdioNode , rlog::SyslogNode , or your own) to catch any messages you are interested in.
Enhancements:
- Features were added to the StdioNode logger and the build scripts were updated.

UPG 0.3.5

UPG 0.3.5

UPG (Universal Podcast Generator) was developed in order to combine the wide-ranging content of online radio stations. more>>
UPG was developed in order to combine wide range content of online radio-stations with the convenience and technological advantages of podcasting. The idea of UPG is to rip mp3 streams from internet and "convert" it to podacsts in fully automatic mode.
Main features:
- schedule radio shows for recording
- define podcast channels
- generate dynamic podcast feeds (rss files) for recorded files
- subscribe from iTunes (or any other podder) directly to UPGs RSS feeds
- create your own custom podcasts from any collections of mp3 files
- Manage your radio-podcasts in any web browser
- create and manage groups of channels
- UPG is a cross-platform and runs under Unix-like operating systems (Linux, FreeBSD), Mac OSX and Windows.
- UPG is a python application which uses standard library only. Thus, any platform which is able to run python 2.3 will be able to run UPG as well.
- The program uses an internal ripper for grabbing mp3 streams.
- There is no built-in GUI in UPG. All UI implemented as a web-based interface.
- The application has its own web application server. This server provides podcasting support (generates rss and sends mp3 back to ipodder) and implements management interface.
Enhancements:
- Added installer and binary packages.

J-EAI 1.0 Beta6

J-EAI 1.0 Beta6

J-EAI is an XMPP-based Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) platform. more>>
J-EAI is the first Open Source EAI built as a free software standards-based solution.
J-EAI is built on:
- XML: XML is the new standard for data exchange between heterogeneous systems. It is normalized by the W3C.
- XMPP: XMPP stands for eXtensible Messaging and Presence Protocol. It is standardized by the IETF and is extremely extensible.
Main features:
Cross organisation integration
- J-EAI has been designed to enable applications integration in process that are not limited to the boundary of a single organisation. Its routing mechanism allows several instances of J-EAI managed by different organisation to be interconnected while keeping all the systems independant.
A J-EAI cluster can serve a single domain
- J-EAI works as a cluster to ensure scalability and high-availability. This is an important feature as organisation deploying EAI data bus become highly dependant of the system: high-availability and scalability is thus a must.
Flexible design and extensible data bus
- The J-EAI bus is entirely based on XML and is design as an extensible architecture. This makes it easy to extend and to integrate with legacy application, whatever the technology they are build-in.
Enhancements:
- This version supports collection nodes in the pub sub module.
- Node collection support increases the flexibility of the publish and subscribe model.
- Several bugs have been also fixed.

Nux 1.5

Nux 1.5

Nux is an open-source Java toolkit making efficient and powerful XML processing easy. more>>
Nux is an open-source Java toolkit making efficient and powerful XML processing easy. It is geared towards embedded use in high-throughput XML messaging middleware such as large-scale Peer-to-Peer infrastructures, message queues, publish-subscribe and matchmaking systems for Blogs/newsfeeds, text chat, data acquisition and distribution systems, application level routers, firewalls, classifiers, etc.
Have you ever tried to take advantage of a robust and natural commodity Java tool set for XML, XQuery, XPath, schema validation, binary XML, fuzzy fulltext similarity search and related technologies, yet were not ready to accept a significant performance penalty?
Chances are most tool sets turned out not to be particularly robust and natural, that they incurred dramatic penalties when used in straightforward manners, and that their complex idiosyncracies had a strong tendency to distract from the real job and use cases you wanted to get done in a timely manner.
Nux helps to avoid XML nightmares, enabling you to mix and match powerful main-memory XML tools that fit your needs, in natural, straightforward, seamless, effective and standards compliant manners.
Nux reliably processes whatever data fits into main memory (even, say, 250 MB messages), but it is not an XML database system, and does not attempt to be one.
Nux integrates best-of-breed components, containing extensions of the XOM, Saxon and Lucene open-source libraries.
Enhancements:
- This release adds production quality StAX integration, library dependency upgrades, bugfixes, performance improvements, a large set of integration tests, and other enhancements.

xDash 1.02

xDash 1.02

xDash is a framework for application integration (EAI). more>>
xDash is a framework for application integration (EAI). xDash is using XMPP/jabber as the communication protocol and a set of agents. All the needed stuff is automatically generated from a CSV file, which can be comfortably edited in a spreadsheet editor.
xDash can be classified in marketing terms as:
- an Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) solution or
- an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB).
xDash is based on the concept of convergence between backend asynchronous messaging (like IBM MQSeries or JMS) and instant messaging (like IRC or Jabber).
Main features:
- You have to manage a fast integration project with little time and low budget;
- You are convinced, that integration has so many faces, that agile approach and flexible design are better than buying a "silver bullet" from big names;
- You are convinced, that integration is rather a continuous, never-ending process than a single act of some software implementation;
- You would like to concentrate on writing the integration logic in a well known environment and have no time to learn myriads of new options and APIs with little reuse;
- You need an open human readable communication protocol (XML), where you can see what is going on under the hood;
- You need a free open source multiplatform information bus for publish/subscribe integration;
- You are interested in a ground-breaking project dealing with the convergence of instant and backend asynchronous messaging.
What is the core of the xDash?
xDash is at basis every sort of an integration project, which sticks to the following rules:
- Communication over Jabber protocol;
- The extension of the message type to type=job for all relevant messages;
- The message sending schema, in which always participate a message sender, a message receiver and a message archivist ("integration chain").
- For each sort of event, triggering a Sender, there is only one integration chain defined on the server by a set of Jabber IDs and forwarding rules ("Who knows whom" schema).
- The client software of Sender and Receiver knows nobody but the Archivist.
- The jabber server forwards Senders messages sent to the Archivist, additionally to the Receivers.
