Free stuff software for linux

Tubesock is a GTK/GNOME swf player released under the GPL. Currently the code right now is parsing SWF files, and can dump the contents, and can display some stuff.

Tubesock is written 100% in c, and depends on glib2 and gtk2.

Installation

./configure
make
cd src/tubesock
./tubesock PATH_TO_SWF_FILE.swf

tomsrtbt software is "The most GNU/Linux on one floppy disk" for:

- rescue recovery panic & emergencies

- tools to keep in your shirt pockets

- whenever you cant use a hard drive

Tomsrtbt stands for: "Toms floppy which has a root filesystem and is also bootable."

Design goals:

- as much stuff as possible on 1 floppy disk

- keep it self contained, build under itself

- try to make it behave like a normal system

- rescue and recovery functions get priority

Relokate is a strategy puzzle game for the K Desktop Environment (KDE). The player must reorder the cards to match the original image or order of numbers.
Relokate has support for adding background images and puzzle themes using the Get Hot New Stuff framework (GHNS).
Enhancements:
- It is a quick bugfix update to 0.4 which didnt install the configuration correctly!

GNOME Advanced Preferences is an UI to tweak advanced GNOME preferences.

GNOME Advanced Preferences allows you to tweak hidden GNOME preferences, including custom keyboard shortcuts to execute specific commands, etc.

Stuff generally only available through GConf.

You want to play those good old Amiga TFMX songs under Linux with a nice KDE3-based GUI? No problem!

This program is almost complete, with the exception of i18n (translation). I probaly wont have time to do the i18n stuff, so any help is appreciated.

Quick-and-dirty installation guide:

First, make sure KDEDIR points to your KDE3-directory (e.g.
"/opt/kde3") and QTDIR points to your Qt3.x.x-directory
(e.g. "/usr/lib/qt3"), then run
"./configure --prefix=$KDEDIR"

Start the program from KDE3 by selecting "Sakuraplayer" from the "Multimedia" submenu.

Each time you upgrade to a newer version, the splash-screen will reappear once. Click on it or wait for ten seconds...

BoomBox is a music player with a unique database browser.
The whole thing started when I was trying out winamp3, the player everybody hates because of its enourmous memory consumption. I didnt like it too much either, but it had one thing that I liked: the library browser (or whatever they called it).
After switching to using Linux exclusively (thanks to Gentoo) I searched around a lot to see if I could find something similar, but I couldnt. So I started writing BoomBox. Only took me about a week or two before I could uninstall xmms.
It uses xinelib to gain support for a whole bunch of file types and webradio and stuff.
It has a powerful database thanks to sqlite. Powerful and simple user interface.
Enhancements:
- Small bugfix release.

Golem is a lightweight, fast window manager for X11 which is very customizable.
Golems development has stagnated for a while and Jordan has given the project to Bruce Ashfield. Bruce is currently working on a new release which will have some existing patches applied.
