Open Source Electronic Lab Notebook 1.1

Open Source Electronic Lab Notebook 1.1

Open Source Electronic Lab Notebook is an electronic lab notebook. more>>
OS-ELN is an Electronic Lab Notebook which you can freely download and use.
OS-ELN is deliberately simple; fully-fledged commercial ELNs are necessarily much more complex. As such, OS-ELN is a good teaching tool and a place for experimentation with ELN technology and concepts.
Users can sign up for an ELN, within which they can record their experiments, and you can attach files as part of an experiment. With knowledge of Zope, you can expand the system as you wish, for example to change the look & feel, to access relational databases, add other content to experiments, etc.
Version restrictions:
- You would be very unwise to use OS-ELN to document work that may lead to a patent claim (or defend against a patent infringement action) or for work that may be regulated (by, for example, the FDA). You should either buy a commerical ELN or use paper.

Camaelon 0.1

Camaelon 0.1

Camaelon is a GNUstep theme engine. more>>
Camaelon is a theme engine for GNUstep.

While very good when you works with it, it looks a bit old with the current playskool interfaces avalaible everywhere. So I wrote this theme bundle, Camaelon, with the idea of providing a fresher look, while remaining good on term of useability.

Actually its not very configurable (you need to change values in the source code for gradients/colors).

Installation

You need to patch some files in the GNUstep -gui sources. Go in the gui/Source directory of your local GNUsteps sources, and apply the provided patch file, themes.patch :

If you want to build a tarball, youll usually execute:

tar -xzvf mypackge.tar.gz
cd mypackage
less INSTALL

./configure --help
./configure --prefix=/usr
-sysconfdir=/etc/gnome --some-other-option
make
su -c "make install"

Serverstats 0.7

Serverstats 0.7

Serverstats is a simple tool for creating graphs using rrdtool more>>
Serverstats is a simple tool for creating graphs using rrdtool. It does not have any features to manage the created rrd-files, so if you change anything you have to delete and recreate the files.
There is also no frontend for managing your graphs and sources. Serverstats is designed to be configured once and then run continuously. It does not depend on a database.
Main features:
- add sources using PHP-classes
- simple configuration
- all rrdtool-commands are escaped
- sources can use a cache if needed (for example to calculate per second values out of absolute values)
- multiple languages supported: en_US, de_DE
- graphs can include any defined sources and/or rrdfile
- clean HTML-source, can be styled using CSS
- support for advanced rrdtool features such as CDEF/VDEFs
- usage of cacti scripts possible (scripts from cacti release are included, hope thats ok for the devs of cacti)
- multiple RRA-definitions supported (you can select one "template" for every source)
- Errorlogger, may use syslog, write into a file or send you an email
Included Sources
- All includes sources are written for a linux-system. You may write some to run on windows, but there is nothing for windows included in the releases. Also I do not know if the sources will run on any other UNIX-system.
- users - number of users logged in
- load - current load of the system (1min, 5min and 15min) and number of (running) processes
- traffic - traffic passing through iptables-chains, needs special configuration
- mysql - save questions (per second) and number of current processes
- external - get data from external scripts (same format as cacti uses)
- memory - statistics of memory and swap
- cpu - statistics of cpu usage (thanks to Andreas Korthaus)
- apache - statistics from localhost/server-status (thanks to Andreas Korthaus)
- disk - monitor your IO-rate (kernel 2.6 only)
