Beos provides a beautiful set of icons.

Matthew McClintock created a beautiful set of icons for Mac OS X, that I converted to create this icon theme about one the best desktop OS I know.

For the moment, the theme is not fully complete: some of the mime icons are defined. I will finalize it later.

Vega Strike 0.4.3

Vega Strike 0.4.3

Vega Strike is a 3D Linux action space simulator. more>>
Vega Strike is a Linux action space simulator designed to bring 3d space combat to a whole new level of graphics, gameplay, and customizability.
Enhancements:
- Also featured is an introductory story campaign showing what the future of Vega Strike storytelling will look like.
- Hopefully we will release a campaign editor at some point which will allow users to contribute their own stories and dialogue to the game.
- The new screenshot (imaging) key is activated with i. PC users will find a link to the screenshots in the start menu, linux users will find it in the home directory ~/.vegastrike043/textures/
- Strangelet and PeteyG have worked for months on the art you will experience in 2.4.3.
- Dandandamans hard work has made the Loki Installer a reality for our linux users. You folks can toss gcc out the window and just download and run, like the mac and windows releases, and Fadookie and Mamiya0taru have polished the windows installer for the rest of the computational world.
- And my mac is finally out of the shop, and I have finally figured out how to make OS X 10.1 and 10.2 compatible binaries through OS X 10.3, so users with any Mac OS X can still experience Vega Strike. (this is not as easy as it sounds--look how many OS X 10.3 only apps there are out there and youll realize)
- All the items missing from 0.4.2 listed in the missing section have finally been added to 0.4.3, and thats the reason the developers decided to push for another 0.4.x release before forging ahead to 0.5.0 which will likely have a new gameplay feel and more stories.

QtOIDUA is a graphical user interface for OIDUA for Linux and Mac OS X written in C++ using Qt. It is completely free and open source, and is licensed under the GNU GPL.
QtOIDUA supports all the features of OIDUA and makes it easy to create fields, add directories, choose colors, and set options. QtOIDUA also allows you to save list configuration files, so you can easily recreate any previously created list.

- No longer necessary to manually copy the icon into the application bundle and edit the Info.plist file when compiling in OS X.

TalkSoup is a fully configurable graphical IRC client for both GNUstep and Mac OS X.

Its simplistic interface is made extremely powerful by the fact that all parts of the IRC client are implemented as runtime-loaded plugins, so additional plugins can be made to further extend TalkSoup.

TalkSoup supports a tabbed interface, DCC file transfer, and most common features found in other IRC clients.

dsync 0.9.4

dsync 0.9.4

dsync is a tool for merging or synchronizing contents of two directories, or just for backups. more>>
dsync is a tool for merging or synchronizing contents of two directories, or just for backups.
dsync project is written in Perl. dsync is inspired by Dan Kogais psync.
I sought something similar to (but more robust than!) the legacy PowerMerge programs available some years ago for classic releases of Mac OS. Dan Kogais nifty psync and supporting MacOSX::File modules seemed like a great start.
Having some time during the lull of the holiday season, I cobbled together Dsync. With Dsync, I attempted to capture the feature set of PowerMerge with the foundation of psync and a few ideas for improvement.
This is an early release. I use it on my systems with some degree of success, but the tool is far from well-tested, predictable, or reliable. Please treat it as development-grade software and help me improve it with your feedback.
While Dsyncs current focus aims exclusively at Mac OS X and its underlying idiosynchracies, I expect that it would be trivial to modify Dsync to work under any unix-like OS.
Installation:
Copy the program to wherever it is easily accessible:
$ cp dsync /usr/local/bin/
Make sure the executable bit is set:
$ ls -l /usr/local/bin/dsync
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 24841 Dec 25 13:54 /usr/local/bin/dsync
if not, then set it:
$ chmod +x /usr/local/bin/dsync
If you have Perl installed elsewhere than /usr/bin, then create a symbolic link:
$ cd /usr/bin
$ ln -s /usr/local/bin/perl
[or wherever you keep Perl]
You will also need MacOSX::File by Dan Kogai:
< http://search.cpan.org/dist/MacOSX-File/ >
To get started, take a look at dsync.html included with this distribution or type:
$ perlpod /usr/local/bin/dsync
[or wherever you stashed dsync]
Enhancements:
- Added an option for lax synchronization to foreign file systems.

XDaliClock 2.23

XDaliClock 2.23

XDaliClock is a digital clock for Mac OS X, the X Window System, and PalmOS devices. more>>
XDaliClock is a digital clock for Mac OS X, the X Window System, and PalmOS devices. When a digit changes, it "melts" into its new shape with color-cycling.
Dali Clock is a digital clock. When a digit changes, it "melts" into its new shape. The date is displayed when the mouse is pressed. The window can be made transparent, and can do funky psychedelic color cycling.
It is available for X11, MacOS X, and PalmOS. There is no Windows version, so dont ask.
It can display in 12 or 24 hour modes, and displays the date when a mouse button is held down. It has two large fonts built into it, but it can animate most other fonts that contain all of the digits. It can also do some funky psychedelic colormap cycling, and can use overlay planes or the `shape extension so that the window is transparent.
In the default configuration, this program is very network-intensive. If it seems sluggish, try the "-memory high" option (see the man page). It will take a little longer to start up, but will then go easy on the bandwidth.
This program was inspired by the Alto/Macintosh programs of the same name, written by Steve Capps some time in the early eighties. This implementation is mine, and if youre looking for another reason to hate the X Windows ``feature of network-transparent graphics, well here you go.
Enhancements:
- The OS X version has a prettier preferences panel
- The PalmOS version has smoother morphing, a bigger "seconds only" font, and does color cycling on color devices.
- The X11 version has smoother morphing, better color-cycling contrast, and three more (larger) built-in fonts.

netclasses 1.06

netclasses 1.06

Netclasses is an asynchronous networking library that works with GNUstep and Mac OS X. more>>
Netclasses is an asynchronous networking library that works with GNUstep and Mac OS X. Out of the box, netclasses gives a nice, asynchronous, and object-oriented interface for IRC, line- based, and raw TCP/IP connections.
Users can easily subclass the raw TCP/IP or line-based interfaces to create asynchronous interfaces for other sorts of connections.
Enhancements:
- Fixes a bug in LineObject where a single byte of non-allocated memory could be read when receiving a blank line.
