SJPT: Simple Java Parsing Toolkit

SJPT: Simple Java Parsing Toolkit

SJPT: Simple Java Parsing Toolkit is a simple Java parser toolkit. more>>
SJPT is parsing toolkit that supports both top-down (LL(1) and Simple Precedence) and bottom-up parsing (LR(0), SLR(1), LR(1) and LALR(1)).

The toolkit also supports generating Java parsers for all the bottom-up parsing methods, based on a CUP definition (similar to Yacc and CUP, but not restricted to LALR parsers only). I worked alone on this project for the laboratory on Compilers.

SJPT is free software under the terms of the GNU GPL.

Simple RSS Service 0.3

Simple RSS Service 0.3

Simple RSS Service is a modular RSS feed generator. more>>
The Simple RSS Service (SRSSS) generates and serves RSS feeds through a common interface via CGI-enabled webservers. It uses modules to extract items for feeds from various sources, and has a virtual filesystem where feeds can be read by CGI-clients.
The package contains everything needed to start providing RSS feeds, including server and CGI programs, and has support for PostgreSQL, MySQL and MimerSQL.
Main features:
- Modular and clean design based on object oriented C++
- Resource-friendly functions that keeps the load down on web- and database-servers by only parsing data and generate new feeds when required, instead of at every request.
- Interface for run-time loading of modules for data-extraction
- A virtual filesystem stored in shared memory
- Feed extraction via CGI program for easy integration in any CGI-enabled webserver
- A trigger-system that allows external sources to trigger daemon software to fetch new updates
- Easy configuration via a configfiles
- Designed for easy integration towards SQL servers etc
- Support for NetBSD, FreeBSD, OpenBSD and Linux.
Modules:
These modules are currently available for RSS item extraction:
mod_pgsql
This module allows the RSS daemon (rssd) to extract items for RSS feeds from a PostgreSQL database. It can select an entire column as description field for the feed, or base it on a pre-formated string in which variables are replaced with values from columns returned in the SQL query.
This module also support triggering, where any client connected to the same database is able to trigger RSSD to fetch a new update via the SQL LISTEN and NOTIFY functions.
mod_mysql
This module integrates RSSD with the MySQL database, allowing it to produce RSS feeds based on any information stored in databases running on MySQL. The module allows the user to run just about any SQL query supported by the database to extract the needed information to create a feed.
Mod_mysql does also support pre-formated strings to generate the description for each RSS item it produces.
mod_mimersql
This module allows the RSS daemon to fetch items from the MimerSQL database.
The module allows the user to run just about any SQL query supported by the database to extract the needed information to create a feed.
Mod_mimersql does also support pre-formated strings to generate the description for each RSS item it produces.
mod_template
This is a template-module that can be used as a starting-point when developing new modules. It is usable, but does not really provide a usable feature.

Pod::Simple::Subclassing is a Perl module that can write a formatter as a Pod::Simple subclass.

SYNOPSIS

package Pod::SomeFormatter;

use strict;

sub _handle_element_start {

...
}

This document is about using Pod::Simple to write a Pod processor, generally a Pod formatter. If you just want to know about using an existing Pod formatter, instead see its documentation and see also the docs in Pod::Simple.

The zeroeth step in writing a Pod formatter is to make sure that there isnt already a decent one in CPAN. See http://search.cpan.org/, and run a search on the name of the format you want to render to. Also consider joining the Pod People list http://lists.perl.org/showlist.cgi?name=pod-people and asking whether anyone has a formatter for that format -- maybe someone cobbled one together but just hasnt released it.

The first step in writing a Pod processor is to read perlpodspec, which contains notes information on writing a Pod parser (which has been largely taken care of by Pod::Simple), but also a lot of requirements and recommendations for writing a formatter.

The second step is to actually learn the format youre planning to format to -- or at least as much as you need to know to represent Pod, which probably isnt much.
The third step is to pick which of Pod::Simples interfaces you want to use -- the basic interface via Pod::Simple or Pod::Simple::Methody is event-based, sort of like HTML::Parsers interface, or sort of like XML::Parsers "Handlers" interface), but Pod::Simple::PullParser provides a token-stream interface, sort of like HTML::TokeParsers interface; Pod::Simple::SimpleTree provides a simple tree interface, rather like XML::Parsers "Tree" interface.

Users familiar with XML-handling will find one of these styles relatively familiar; but if you would be even more at home with XML, there are classes that produce an XML representation of the Pod stream, notably Pod::Simple::XMLOutStream; you can feed the output of such a class to whatever XML parsing system you are most at home with.

The last step is to write your code based on how the events (or tokens, or tree-nodes, or the XML, or however youre parsing) will map to constructs in the output format. Also sure to consider how to escape text nodes containing arbitrary text, and also what to do with text nodes that represent preformatted text (from verbatim sections).

Simple IPX Bridge 1.2

Simple IPX Bridge 1.2

SIB (Simple IPX Bridge) is able to tunnel IPX and IP frames received by your Ethernet device via UDP over the Internet. more>>
SIB (Simple IPX Bridge) is able to tunnel IPX and IP frames received by your Ethernet device via UDP over the Internet. It is able to put the interface it listens on to promiscous mode, so all frames (not only broadcasts, and frames for the tunneling server) can be received.
Actually every 802.3 frame can be tunneled, but SIB only tunnels IPX frames per default (this can be changed via command line). SIB also filters SMB over IPX, to reduce network traffic (this can be disabled too).
Additionally SIB takes care which frames belong to local MAC addresses and sends only broadcasts and frame to non-local MACs to the remote host.
A non-plus-ultra is, that SIB can compress every frame it tunnels via LZO, but you must have LZO library installed.
You may ask yourself: "Why should I need this?" Well, there are lot of answers, but the main reason is: FOR GAMES. Even with KALI for Windows ($14.99) and KALI cracked 1.2 ($0 - but bugs bugs bugs) there is no real WHOLE NETWORK to WHOLE NETWORK connection program which can tunnel IPX, filter SMB, compress it, and works with 2.4.0. And EVERY new game (for Windows) uses IPX for "network" (or should I say Internet ;-) games. (RA2, Q3, HL...)
Enhancements:
- fix for "divide by zero" bug on alpha
- fixed hostname resolver
- added option to set local UDP port
- added option to bind to an specific local IP
- MAC lists flushed on SIGHUP

Gtk2::GladeXML::Simple is a clean object-oriented interface to Gtk2::GladeXML. more>>
Gtk2::GladeXML::Simple is a clean object-oriented interface to Gtk2::GladeXML.

SYNOPSIS

package MyApp;
use base qw( Gtk2::GladeXML::Simple );

sub new {
my $class = shift;
my $self = $class->SUPER::new( $gladefile );
return $self;
}

...

# Signal handlers are methods of your class
sub on_button_clicked {
my $self = shift;
# You have access to your widgets directly
# or using $self->get_widget( widget_name )
my $button = $self->{button1};
}

Gtk2::GladeXML::Simple is a module that provides a clean and easy interface for Gnome/Gtk2 and Glade applications using an object-oriented syntax. You just make Gtk2::GladeXML::Simple your applications base class, have your new call SUPER::new, and the module will do the tedious and dirty work for you.

Gtk2::GladeXML::Simple offers:

Signal handler callbacks as methods of your class.
sub on_button1_clicked {
my $self = shift; # $self always received as first parameter
...
# do anything you want in a OO fashioned way
}

Autoconnection of signal handlers.

Autocalling of creation functions for custom widgets.

Access to the widgets as instance attributes.

my $btn = $self->{button1}; # fetch widgets as instance attributes by their names
my $window = $self->{main_window};
my $custom = $self->{custom_widget};

Graphics::Simple 0.04

Graphics::Simple 0.04

Graphics::Simple is a simple , device-independent graphics API for Perl. more>>
Graphics::Simple is a simple , device-independent graphics API for Perl.

SYNOPSIS

use Graphics::Simple;

line 100,100,200,200;
circle 50,50,25;
stop(); clear(); # Wait for a button press, clear the page

Ever had a Commodore C-64 or Vic-20 or some other of the machines of that era? Where doing graphics was as simple as

line 20,20,50,30;

and you didnt have to go through things like XOpenDisplay etc.

This module tries to bring back the spirit of that era in a modern environment: this module presents a simple, unified API to several different graphics devices - currently X (using Gtk and Gnome) and PostScript.

The interface is primarily made easy-to-use, starting from the idea that the above line command must work. Therefore, it exports most of the primitives by default (you can turn this off).

However, everything is not sacrificed in the name of simplicity: believing in "simple things simple, complicated things possible", this module also allows multiple windows (all the primitives also work as methods of window objects) as well as raw access to the underlying devices - although the device-independence is then lost. In future plans are some sort of interactions with the devices with which it is possible as well as the addition of more devices.

The use command currently accepts the forms

use Graphics::Simple;
use Graphics::Simple qw/line circle/;
use Graphics::Simple 300,400; # portrait paper
use Graphics::Simple 300,400, qw/line circle/;

i.e. the optional size of the default window first and then normal Exporter arguments.

Graphics::Simple has several different back-ends, currently GnomeCanvas, TkCanvas, PostScript and (not fully working yet) Fig. Other backends are expected.
To start Graphics::Simple with a given backend, you should set the environment variable GSIMPL to the value, e.g. by running your script with the command

GSIMPL=PostScript perl gt1.pl

or by setting the environment variable permanently in your shell, by

GSIMPL=PostScript
export GSIMPL

or

setenv GSIMPL PostScript

Simple Log 2.0.1

Simple Log 2.0.1

Simple Log is a small library that does logging very simply. more>>
Simple Log is a small library that does logging very simply and requires you to do almost nothing (other than actually logging) to get log output to happen. Simple Log is much simpler to use than a logging framework, especially in terms of configuration.
It doesnt attempt to solve every logging problem in one package, but contains enough features to be a viable alternative for most applications that need logging. This tool will handle the logging needs of most small- to large-sized projects, but with an almost non-existent learning curve.
Enhancements:
- This release is primarily about the addition of log rolling (by time of day, file size, or custom strategy), the inclusion of a small but humorous user guide, the fixing of a raft of minor bugs, and the inclusion of a few other small features increasing flexibility.
