DV Assembler can also be used to generate video editing scripts that can be run without KDE and Kommander.

VDOWall is an application which enabled you to create a realtime streaming video out of different sources.

These sources can be controlled seperately and are then combined into one single stream, which can then be displayed with a projection device, such as a beamer. This displaying can be used to display cool looking graphics and videos during a party, display information during congresses or other events or even to create prerecorded videos for different uses.

VDOWall is written in C++ using both OpenGL and the Qt toolkit, made by Trolltech. It started out as a project to learn myself programming with C++ and a bit OpenGL, but as a few people started to show interest, Ive made it a public project. There is no real goal in this, besides the goal to learn to program, but well see what road it follows.

The design is fairly simple: its an application which acts as a framework for certain plugins. These plugins are used as sources which are compiled into one single stream, the video output. This output can then be streamed to the projection device or saved as a compiled video file onto a storage medium.

These plugins which act as sources can differ from loading images, videos or even create realtime OpenGL visuals. Each plugin has its own controls which are displayed on the application when clicked upon.

The design enables people to create plugins from scratch fairly easy, and as they are loaded during startup as shared libraries, one just needs to put the plugin into a directory, restart the application and the plugin should work.

iPod Video Encoder is a command line tool for convenient encoding of video files for use on iPod video. iPod Video Encoder project uses the ffmpeg tool for the actual encoding.
It features recursive encoding of all files in a directory, and generating a podcast.xml file for convenient use in iTunes.
It can be used in a cron job that periodically checks directories for new files and encodes them without user intervention.

Enhancements:
- Only uses the -e option for processing directories.
- The default ipod extension is now _ipod.mp4 for Windows compatibility.

- The program no longer crashes when HOME is not set on Windows.
- --width and --height parameters have been added.

Linux Video Studio is a simple/small application to make the capturing of video on MJPEG-hardware CODEC boards easier.
The application uses the MJPEG-tools, a set of programs to capture video and do lots of things with this. You need to have MJPEG-Tools installed before trying to install Linux Video Studio (also see installation notes) ! Linux Video Studio also uses the Xvideo extension in XFree 4.x to see what youre recording.
But that is not all. I want more than just capturing. My dream is to create one big application that does all the work at once. Not just one application for capturing, one for editing (xlav?), etc. No, my dream is to have one application doing it all. I hope Linux Video Studio can be part of that.
Installation:
You need Gtk to use this application. You also need the MJPEG-Tools installed. Besides that, you now also need an X-server with the Xvideo extension installed (i.e. you need XFree 4.x). In the XF86Config file, add the line Load "v4l" in the modules-section. Next, restart X (you must have the zoran drivers loaded before staring X, or the V4L-module wont work!). For some distros, you might have to install this module first (RedHat 7.0: you need the XFree86-V4L-.... RPM).

Enhancements:
- some GList related preferences save bugfixes
- bugfixes where the extension of a file (.mp2, .m1v) precedes the filename, but that path doesnt exist

GIMP ASCII Load/Save Plugin package is a set of identical plugins Save 2 ASCII, and ASCII 2 Image, which make saving (loading) images to (from) ASCII text.

GIMP ASCII Load/Save Plugin is very useful if you are using GNU Octave & GIMP together for Image processing. These plugins are distributed under GNU GPL, which you may modify and redistribute.

ASCII 2

Functionally this script tries to create an Image from a text-file that had been processed with the Octave or anything else.

LIMITATIONS: No support for multiple-layers or alpha.

USAGE: Choose a given ASCII file which you want to visualize, and with a knowledge of its column size & row size type those in and select gray/color option, then press ok and wait. You must see your matrix visualized on GIMP.

Save 2 ASCII

Functionally this script tries to save the Image into a text-file for processing with the Octave or anything else.

LIMITATIONS; Cannot save layers.

USAGE: Choose an image, and select if you want it saved as a ASCII file in gray/color mode (1bit-per-pixel(bpp) or 3bpp), and press ok. A new file will be created in your $HOME directory by default, or the directory where you started GIMP from. You can optionally override this by specifying the full path in filename field.
