DV Video Assembler 0.93
DV Video Assembler allows you to append multiple Sony DV files. more>>
This application is particularly useful for owners of digital DV video cameras and other people who use the Sony DV video format for high quality video production.
DV Assembler allows you to append multiple Sony DV files with nice looking transition effects for both audio and video. Multiple transition effects are supported, like cross-fade, zoom, blur and a flash effect.
I created DV Assembler because there are no user friendly video editing applications for Linux. Yes, Kino is promising, but its user interface is still a mess and development is slow.
DV Assembler only touches the head and tail parts of the original video files that are needed to create the transition effects. The rest of the video is left untouched, which means zero quality loss.
DV Assembler can also be used to generate video editing scripts that can be run without KDE and Kommander.

Flash for Linux 0.2.1
Flash for Linux is a SWF editor for Linux. more>>
Flash for Linux project is a development environment for Macromedia Flash, a format widely used for web applications and vector animation.
F4L is in such early stages of design that it is not recommended for use by people without knowlege of C++, QT, Ming, etc.
F4L is a clone, or imitation, of a Macromedia, Inc. product called Flash. The most current version of Flash is MX 2004. Flash is designed to help people make programs that can be used on any computer and that can be distributed over the Internet.
Flash can even be easily included in a web page. Most browsers include a plug-in that allows users to view Flash content in web pages. If you do not have this plug-in, you may wish to visit http://www.macromedia.com/downloads/ to get it for Mozilla (or compatible), Opera, Internet Explorer, AOL, OS X, OS 9, Pocket PC, OS/2, Irix, Solaris, or HP-UX for free.
Flash offers easy development of professional applications. Flash development is based mostly on a Graphical User Interface (GUI). Through the GUI, a developer can draw their application on the screen. Drawings can be converted to animations, buttons, and other features with the development environments menus and dialog boxes.
Competing methods of development, such as C++, Java or JavaScript, require technical knowledge of a special programming language and mathematics. A Flash applications GUI features are extremely limited compared to a programming language based project. To compensate for this weakness, Macromedia added Action Scripts to Flash.
Action Scripts are a sort of programming language, but there are only a few commands to learn, and they are selected off a menu. Action Scripting is equivalent to programming a graphing calculator with BASIC; it should not take you more than a few days to learn, if you have the patience to read boring instructions.
While Flash can be developed with very few Action Scripts, the scripts add to the interactivity of the application. Most web sites using Flash do not use Action Scripts intensively, with the exception of games. Flash can also work with JavaScript.
Enhancements:
- The program can now export simple objects like images, lines, rectangles, ovals (ellipses), and text.
- The "locate" command is used to find the TrueType font files needed for text.

Linux Video Studio 0.1.7
Linux Video Studio is a simple/small application to make the capturing of video on MJPEG-hardware CODEC boards easier. more>>
Linux Video Studio is a simple/small application to make the capturing of video on MJPEG-hardware CODEC boards easier.
The application uses the MJPEG-tools, a set of programs to capture video and do lots of things with this. You need to have MJPEG-Tools installed before trying to install Linux Video Studio (also see installation notes) ! Linux Video Studio also uses the Xvideo extension in XFree 4.x to see what youre recording.
But that is not all. I want more than just capturing. My dream is to create one big application that does all the work at once. Not just one application for capturing, one for editing (xlav?), etc. No, my dream is to have one application doing it all. I hope Linux Video Studio can be part of that.
Installation:
You need Gtk to use this application. You also need the MJPEG-Tools installed. Besides that, you now also need an X-server with the Xvideo extension installed (i.e. you need XFree 4.x). In the XF86Config file, add the line Load "v4l" in the modules-section. Next, restart X (you must have the zoran drivers loaded before staring X, or the V4L-module wont work!). For some distros, you might have to install this module first (RedHat 7.0: you need the XFree86-V4L-.... RPM).
From source:
# tar -zxf linuxvideostudio-x.y.z.tar.gz
# cd linuxvideostudio-x.y.z
# ./configure
# make
# make install
From binary RPM:
# rpm --install linuxvideostudio-x.y.z-n.i386.rpm
You can also use GnoRPM or another convenience tool.
From Source RPM:
# rpm --rebuild linuxvideostudio-x.y.z-n.src.rpm
# cd /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/
# rpm --install linuxvideostudio-x.y.z-n.i386.rpm
Enhancements:
- some GList related preferences save bugfixes
- bugfixes where the extension of a file (.mp2, .m1v) precedes the filename, but that path doesnt exist

GIMP ASCII Load/Save Plugin package is a set of identical plugins Save 2 ASCII. more>>
GIMP ASCII Load/Save Plugin package is a set of identical plugins Save 2 ASCII, and ASCII 2 Image, which make saving (loading) images to (from) ASCII text.
GIMP ASCII Load/Save Plugin is very useful if you are using GNU Octave & GIMP together for Image processing. These plugins are distributed under GNU GPL, which you may modify and redistribute.
ASCII 2
Functionally this script tries to create an Image from a text-file that had been processed with the Octave or anything else.
LIMITATIONS: No support for multiple-layers or alpha.
USAGE: Choose a given ASCII file which you want to visualize, and with a knowledge of its column size & row size type those in and select gray/color option, then press ok and wait. You must see your matrix visualized on GIMP.
Save 2 ASCII
Functionally this script tries to save the Image into a text-file for processing with the Octave or anything else.
LIMITATIONS; Cannot save layers.
USAGE: Choose an image, and select if you want it saved as a ASCII file in gray/color mode (1bit-per-pixel(bpp) or 3bpp), and press ok. A new file will be created in your $HOME directory by default, or the directory where you started GIMP from. You can optionally override this by specifying the full path in filename field.

Video::Info::ASF 0.993
Video::Info::ASF is a Perl module for ASF files atributes. more>>
Video::Info::ASF is a Perl module for ASF files for attributes like:
-video codec
-audio codec
-frame height
-frame width
-frame count
and more!
SYNOPSIS
use Video::Info::ASF;
my $video;
$video = Video::Info::ASF->new(-file=>$filename); #like this
$video->vcodec; #video codec
$video->acodec; #audio codec
...
ASF stands for Advanced Systems Format, in case you were wondering. It used to stand for Active Streaming Format, but Microsoft decided to change it. This type of file is primarily used to store audio & video data for local or streaming playback. It can also be embedded with commands (to launch a web browser, for instance), for an "immersive" experience. ASF is similar in structure to RIFF. (See RIFF::Info). The morbidly curious can find out more below in REFERENCES.

FLV::Header 0.03
FLV::Header is a flash video file data structure. more>>
FLV::Header is a flash video file data structure.
METHODS
This is a subclass of FLV::Base.
$self->parse($fileinst)
Takes a FLV::File instance and extracts the FLV header from the file stream. This method throws exceptions if the stream is not a valid FLV v1.0 or v1.1 file. The interpretation is a bit stricter than other FLV parsers (for example FLVTool2).
There is no return value.
$self->serialize($filehandle)
Serializes the in-memory FLV header. If that representation is not complete, this throws an exception via croak(). Returns a boolean indicating whether writing to the file handle was successful.
$self->has_video()
Returns a boolean indicating if the FLV header predicts that video data is enclosed in the stream.
This value is not consulted internally.
$self->has_audio()
Returns a boolean indicating if the FLV header predicts that audio data is enclosed in the stream.
This value is not consulted internally.
