ChangePassword modifies the passwords of passwd, Samba, and Squid through the Web. All passwords are syncronized and changed in real time through browsers like Mozilla, Netscape, IE, Opera, and others.

SADMS (Samba as Active Directory Member Server/Station) makes it easy to add a Linux host to an Active Directory Domain.
As a domain member, the Linux host
- can offer resources (shares) to the domain hosts and act as a domain server.
- offloads authentication to the domain (controllers), making it unnecessary to add local user accounts for domain users
SADMS was designed for use by administrators and takes care of the gory details of configuring a Linux host as an Active Directory (Windows 200x) Domain, an operation that involves modifying a number of arcane configuration files.
The Linux host, running on Samba 3, though not an Active Directory controller, operates as a member of the domain and, as such, refers to controllers for user authentication. No local accounts for Active Directory members are needed.
Communication with Active Directory controllers is carried out through Kerberos and LDAP (not the NT LAN Manager protocols).
Optionally, PAM can be configured to accept domain users for local interactive sessions on the host, whicn then acts as a workstation.

Distccmon-Qt is a Qt based monitoring tool for distcc(distcc.samba.org), a distributed C/C++ compiler which helps you to speed up compilations.

Samba Commander is a text mode SMB network commander. In SMBC, you can browse the local network or you can use the search function to find the files.
You can also download/upload files and directories or create them both locally and remotely. SMBC has a resume function and supports UTF-8 characters.

FerrisSambaModule is a VFS module for Samba 3.x which allows it to provide shares which use libferris as a data source.
Thus, anything libferris can access can be shared as a filesystem via Samba, including LDAP, PostgreSQL, XML files, sleepycat dbXML database, evolution mail client, and queries against libferris various indexes.
Enhancements:
- STLport use was made optional.
- Some fixes were made for mounting eaquery:// as a Samba share.

GladeNetSend is a GTK- based NetSend GUI for linux for sending and recieving net send from linux/windows machines.
Uses Samba to send and recieve messages. It can be minimized into the system tray and a popup window will appear as soon as a message is recieved.
Enhancements:
- if the icon file is not found, "NetSend" appears in the system Tray

Users requested enhanced functionality of the installation CDs now several times.

After some brainstorming, the release-engineering team now created a new experimental subproject called Project Dolphin. Project Dolphin aims at offering a [Gentoo] Live-image targeted at rescue work.

Highlights of the CD are: zsh, samba, bacula, mc, dar, mutt, xfsdump, ide-smart, netcat, nmap, chrootkit, partimage, ncftp, centericq, bind-tools, alsa-utils, mpg321.

Gentoo Project Dolphin is a very early test-iso and not everything has been tested yet. However, we appreciate any bug-reports attached to a fresh meta-bug.

ngacl project is an effort to give Linux and its filesystems a full blown ACL system, similar to that used by NFSv4 and Windows.
With this software, you have 13 different access rights, dynamic inheritance, and audit ACLs. The implementation is filesystem-independent because the kernel parts are an LSM module.
In addition, there is a Samba-VFS module that enables you to alter ACLs with the Windows ACL editor.
