wsdebug 0.1

wsdebug 0.1

wsdebug is a debugger for the Whitespace programming language. more>>
wsdebug is a debugger for the more or less famous whitespace programming language, coming along with a rather fast interpreter (wsi).

Most programming languages like C or Perl do not care for white space characters (like tab, space or newline/linefeed). The whitespace programming language works just the other way round, dont care for any character but those white space ones.

On the whole its just another geeky language like Brainfuck and others, however more adicting.

If youve written a whole lot of instructions youll probably reach the point, where you get lost. Then just put your script into wsdebug and step through your bunch of whitespace instructions and watch how each command manipulates the stack (or heap).

fping 2.4b2

fping 2.4b2

fping is a ping like program which uses the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) echo request to determine if a host is up. more>>
fping is a ping like program which uses the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) echo request to determine if a host is up. fping is different from ping in that you can specify any number of hosts on the command line, or specify a file containing the lists of hosts to ping.

Instead of trying one host until it timeouts or replies, fping will send out a ping packet and move on to the next host in a round-robin fashion.

If a host replies, it is noted and removed from the list of hosts to check. If a host does not respond within a certain time limit and/or retry limit it will be considered unreachable.

Unlike ping, fping is meant to be used in scripts and its output is easy to parse.

Problem and Issues:

With a large a number of IP addresses in use, its becomes more and more time consuming to check on which IP addresses are actively in use, and which critical machines (routers, bridges, servers, etc) are reachable. One example is we have a program which goes through all of our routers arp caches looking for IP addresses that are in use. After finding a list of IP addresses that arent in any arp caches fping can then be used to see if these IP addresses really arent being used, or are just behind the routers. Checking 2500 hosts (99% of which are unreachable) via ping can take hours.

fping was written to solve the problem of pinging N number of hosts in an efficient manner. By sending out pings in a round-robin fashion and checking on responses as they come in at random, a large number of hosts can be checked at once.

Unlike ping, fping is meant to be used in scripts and its output is easy to parse.

MACTS 1.01

MACTS 1.01

MACTS is a traffic shaper which uses MAC addresses which are associated with users to classify traffic. more>>
MACTS project is a traffic shaper that uses MAC addresses which are associated with users to classify traffic.
This allows fair usage of bandwidth among many machines. Additionally, there is a statistics monitor which displays current statistics on the terminal or stores them in round robin databases.
The stored data may then be used to generate graphs with the included Perl/CGI scripts. The configuration file is straight-forward and requires little knowledge of networking or the underlying traffic control mechanism. Setup should be easy.
Components:
macts - This clears the current traffic classifiers and sets up new ones, as directed by /etc/macts/macts.conf. It also stores some temporary state data in /etc/macts/handles.cache.
macts-stats - With no args, this displays statistics on a terminal, including data rate (kb/s), packet rate (packets/s), and backlog (packets) for each machine. Given the -r flag, it stores the statistics in round robin databases (one for each machine), located in /etc/macts/stats/.
macts-chart - This is a CLI chart generator which reads data from RRDs stored in /etc/macts/stats/.
macts-chart.cgi - This is a CGI wrapper for macts-chart.
Installation:
- mkdir /etc/macts
- mkdir /etc/macts/stats
- create /etc/macts/macts.conf
- add the following lines to /etc/sysctl.conf:
net.ipv4.conf.default.accept_source_route = 1 # is this necessary?
net.bridge.bridge-nf-filter-vlan-tagged = 0
net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-ip6tables = 0
net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-iptables = 0
net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-arptables = 0
- move macts, macts-stats, and macts-chart to /usr/local/bin/.
- (optional) install rrdtools and the perl rrdtool interface
- (optional) add the following line to roots cron:
*/5 * * * * /usr/local/bin/macts-stats -r 2&> /dev/null
- (optional) move macts-chart.cgi to your web servers cgi directory.
Enhancements:
- Installation instructions have been fixed.

Babala software is a simple logical game with elements of move strategy.

Babala is a simple logical game with elements of move strategy. At the beginning the game the enemys figures "Balabaks"are situated on the playnig field.Balabaks behaviour is simple, he goes straight towards your figures going round obstructions when he meets them.Balabak must not reach you, otherwise you lose.

Each turn is made up of some moves (max.5) or of shots and placing mines (max.5).Your task is to dispose of all Balabaks to do this you must choose suitable movements or shots. So that it is not so easy

You have to shoot through a wall at Balabaks or you have limited numbers of shots. If you dont have enough munition. You must tempt balabaks into a trap. You can save one shot when you lay a mine before a Balabak with two lives.

Installation:

Copy InstallBabala.sh to destination_folder.
cd destination_folder
./InstallBabala.sh

JTourney 1.0

JTourney 1.0

JTourney is a Java based tool to support tournament directors conducting small to medium scale round based tournaments. more>>
JTourney is a Java based tool to support tournament directors conducting small to medium scale round based tournaments for multiplayer games.
JTourney tries to encaspulate over 10 years of experience with various tournament formats for different games. Those tournaments were conducted either manually or with the help (of many kind people and) a predecessor programm, which finally became too old and too small.
The need for JTourney arose since the tournaments conducted were rather flexibile: Players could hop on and hop off between rounds, the games played might allow variable number of players. Beside this flexibility JTourney could of course be used to support more rigid tournament formats, but this is not its focus.
Main features:
- Keeping player lists.
- Playcing players on tables for next round by variuos strategies.
- Generate score sheets for tables.
- Keeping track of game scores
- Calculating player scores, tiebreakers and rankings
How it works?
JTourney is a very simple design. It merely parses text files into its memory and composes new ones on design. While parsing its internal datafiles it also feeds this internal information to the RenderMode, therefore it provides you with more beautiful information than just the raw internal text files.
Note the system never stores things like standings or total scores of players internally. It turned out, that parsing input is very fast and never is a real problem for (say) 100 participants and 12 rounds (this is not a limit, it can most likely handle much more participants and more rounds) on a recent PC.
While this architecture is from the computer stone age it is flexible and powerful. Maybe a bit volatile, but after all it is entirely appropriate to put whatever kind of GUI on top if necessary!

Eyefi ImageModifier 0.4

Eyefi ImageModifier 0.4

Eyefi ImageModifier library is a high-level programming interface. more>>
Eyefi ImageModifier library is a high-level programming interface for describing and caching a series of image transformations which are applied to source images, typically for display on web pages.
The work process is as follows: you define a chain of transformations, optionally giving it a name, and then apply an image to this chain, which results in a new image. If the image is applied to the chain a second time, a cached image will be used.
Currently, the following filters are defined:
- resize
- border
- apply color mask
- round corners
- cropping (to ratio, to dimension, square)
- color blending
- text (ttf / t1)
- margin
- overlay (for watermarking)
- grayscale
The sub-pages of this project document these different filters, the general ImageModifier API, and integration with the Smarty template engine.
Enhancements:
- A new source mask modifier which can draw masked text over images, and several other minor features and bugfixes.
