Eiffel Windowing System (EWS) is an Eiffel library which provides a small, stand-alone windowing system.
The current implementation is based on the Simple Directmedia Library (SDL), but the design allows other graphical backends.
Besides the basic windowing system functionality (overlapping windows, event passing and handling, graphical operations, input froum mouse and keyboard), a small widget-toolkit is included (buttons, scrollbars, labels, etc.).
Its specially well suited for applications where a fine degree of control over presentation and timing is required. Multimedia applications and games are the usual examples.

The normal desktop calculators seem counter-intuitive to me. Why emulate the limited interface (ie a numeric pad) of a pocket calculator, when youve got the power of a desktop computer and keyboard at your finger tips.
SuperKaramba Calculator is a very simple calculator theme, with a lot of hidden power. It uses the google calculator as its engine, which means that it can do complex calculations from a very simple interface. If the calculation is a simple mathematical expression, the theme will use the bc program, rather than going online. It does unit conversions and currency conversions as well.
You can enter an equation in mathematical notation, or in everyday language. For example:
four plus five
4+5
2000 kilometers per hour in feet per year
The theme stores the last 10 queries, so that you can go back over them.
The theme checks for invalid characters, and parentheses mismatches.
The theme also allows you to use the keyword "ans" in your query, which will substitute the last result into your current query. This could save typing a lot of text if youre chaining queries together.
How to use it ...
This is so simple to use, it doesnt really need a manual. The theme consists of three elements. A text entry box, a text display and a button.
To run a calculation, put your query in the text box. Then left click the button. The theme will go off and do its magic, and come back with an answer that will be displayed as text underneath the text box.

mudFTP is a protocol used for transfer of text files between a MUD server and a mudFTP client program. The text files can be notes, programs, room descriptions, etc. Once the file is transferred to the client, it is edited locally using the users favorite text editor.
In order to install mudFTP on your server, your server must have a centralized mechanism for editing text entries. In case of most MERC derivatives, this happens via the function string_append which takes a char** and takes over the control over input from the user, reallocating the text string as necessary. In any case, a fair knowledge of the C programming language and your MUD server is required in order to install mudFTP.
Once installed on the server side, mudFTP will listen on another port - typically youd wand this to be 6 higher than the normal port (e.g. if your mud is on port 4444, your mudFTP port would be on port 4450).
You users then use the mudFTP client program to connect. The client program identifies itself to the server with the MUD username/password and then waits for a request.
When a user with mudFTP enabled then edits a text using the text editing mechanism, it notices that there is a mudFTP connection and sends the text there instead of to the normal user screen. The users mudFTP client reads the text, saves it to a temporary file and spawns an editor. The user edits the file, and when satisfied, exits the editor. This causes the mudFTP client to send the text back to the server - which in turn replaces the text the user was editing with the new text from the client.
The server source code is ported to following platforms:
* Diku-like servers:
o Envy 2.2 with ILAB OLC
o Mythran 3.1.6b
o ROM 2.4b6 with Ivans OLC 1.72 (by Jessica Boyd)
o ROT 1.4 (by Dominic J. Eidson)
o Circle 3.0 (by George Greer)
* Non-Diku
o LDMUD (by Markus Peter) - should be portable to any LP [New!]

Tk::Text::Viewer is a text widget that can display text files under TK. It enable the user to search text and navigate in a Text widget. The reason for creating this module is that it doesnt require downloading of modules other that Tk; Look for widget options in the Tk::Text manpage. A separate viewer.pl program is included and can be used as a stand alone file browser.
The Viewer widget also inherits all the methods provided by the generic Tk::Widget and Tk::Text classes.
The following additional method is available for viewer widgets:
$text_view->Load($filename)
Load file into the text widget.
$text_view->LabelConfig(string or hash ref)
$text_view->LabelConfig(``Search:)
Change label for the search entry field. You might want to change this label if the widget is used in a non English application.

Posy::Plugin::TextToHTML is a Posy plugin to convert plain text files to HTML.
SYNOPSIS

Posy::Plugin::TextToHTML

This uses the HTML::TextToHTML module (as used by the txt2html script) to convert the body of an entry from text into HTML. This checks the extension of the entry file, and if it is txt, then it will convert the entry.
This basically replaces the parse_entry method, and calls the parent method for anything other than text.
