PasswordMaker 1.6.2
PasswordMaker is a small, lightweight, free, extension for Internet Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape, Flock. more>>
PasswordMaker project is a small, lightweight, free, extension for Internet Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape, Flock, and Yahoo! Widgets which creates unique, secure passwords that are very easy for you to retrieve but no one else. Nothing is stored anywhere, anytime, so theres nothing to be hacked, lost, or stolen.
How It Works:
You provide PasswordMaker two pieces of information: a "master password" -- that one, single password you like -- and the URL of the website requiring a password. Through the magic of one-way hash algorithms, PasswordMaker calculates a message digest, also known as a digital fingerprint, which can be used as your password for the website.
Although one-way hash algorithms have a number of interesting characteristics, the one capitalized by PasswordMaker is that the resulting fingerprint (password) does "not reveal anything about the input that was used to generate it." In other words, if someone has one or more of your generated passwords, it is computationally infeasible for him to derive your master password or to calculate your other passwords. Computationally infeasible means even computers like this wont help!

Ajaqs 1.1.6.2
Ajaqs is a Web app that organizes FAQs on a per-project basis. more>>
Ajaqs is a Web app that organizes FAQs on a per-project basis. Ajaqs projects is designed to be deployed under popular Web and application servers.
It aims to serve two purposes: to provide engineering groups a mechanism for consolidating and preserving in-house knowledge in connection to product development and usage, and to provide small companies with a Web interface for exposing searchable, internationalizable information related to products and services.
Main features:
- Serves up XHTML 1.0 (Transitional).
- Internationalizable front-end.
- Text-only front-end.
- Templatized front-end.
- Customizable styles using stylesheets.
- Back-end independent of database-vendor.
- Pooling of database connections for reuse.
- Can attach text or image to answers.
- Can associate several FAQs with a single project.
- Searchable FAQs.
- Role-based security access.
- Administrative front-end for editing or deleting users, projects, FAQs, questions, answers, and attachments.
Here are some key advantages of using Ajaqs:
- Flexibility. The end-user should be able to use any major commercial (or open-source) database on the market. Moreover, the end-user should be able to customize the look-and-feel of the front-end; this includes the ability to internationalize the application.
- Maintenance. Both external documentation (like this) and inline javadocs should explain how things work. Ive tried to write clean Java code so that developers who build on Ajaqs will have a clear, easily extensible starting point.
- Ease of Use. Installation is simple; you just have to create a .war file and drop it in the right directory/folder. The Ajaqs interface is text-based, and intended to provide easy access to search operations.
- Security. File system security issues are completely off-loaded to the Java security model (i.e., the Java sandbox) and whatever access-policy may be in place for the database. Ajaqs-specific security in connection with particular web content is off-loaded to the security model for the application server under use. Ajaqs-specific security that deals with end-users is role-based, and leverages Castors JDO mapping model to restrict, automatically, what data from the back-end some end-user can access.
Here are some disadvantages of using Ajaqs:
- Castor. Although this is a big design advantage, in practice it poses occasional problems, partly because of sketchy documentation.
- Non-trivial design. Ajaqs may be powerful, but it comes at a great price. As the list of technologies above indicates, it takes a well-versed Java developer to understand all the issues involved in making Ajaqs work properly.
Enhancements:
- The Ant build process now utilizes Jasper to pre-compile JSPs into the war file.

swIMP 0.9
swIMP aims to make solvers written in C or C++ available under other languages. more>>
swIMP short from SWIG-based Interfaces for Mathematical Programming aims at making solvers written in C or C++ available under other languages.
The current focus is on Java as target language and on LP/IP-solvers which are compatible to the Open Solver Interface (OSI) from the Coin-OR-project. This includes both Open Source solvers as well as reknown commercial solvers like CPLEX and Xpress (see Features).
The wrappers are implemented using the generator tool SWIG. SWIG generates both C++ code which is then compiled into a shared library and Java-code which accesses the shared library through the Java Native Interface (JNI).
In principle, SWIG also supports other target languages like Python or Perl but this would require non-trivial modifications of the SWIG interface definitions currently provided by swIMP.
Main features:
Java-wrappers for OSI-compatible solvers
- The following solvers are currently supported:
Solvers from the Coin-OR-project, namely
- Clp,
- Cbc,
- Vol,
- Symphony.
- Support for the following solvers should be easy to add (at most one day of work or so) but has not yet been added because I had no need to - a short notice if you need such a feature or even better a patch for including one of these solvers would of course be highly welcome:
- GLPK,
- CPLEX,
- Xpress
Environment
- The generated Java-code has been compiled and tested under Version 1.4.2 of Sun Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE) .
- The shared library is currently built and tested under Linux but should work on most UNIX systems. The GNU Build Tools (autoconf and automake) are used to achieve this portability. However, no tests on other platforms than Linux have been performed.
swIMP requires the following libraries from Coin-OR-project:
- libCoin,
- libCgl,
- libOsi.
- Furthermore, the libraries for the solvers which shall be accessed through Osi must be available, of course. For example, you may want to install
- libCbc, libCgl and libVol from the Coin-OR-project,
- together with their Osi-counterparts libOsiCbc, libOsiCgl and libOsiVol.
- The Lang and the Logging Components of Jakarta Commons,
- JUnit to execute the automatic unit test suite.
The build process uses the following tools (the version with which the build process has been tested is included in brackets):
- GNU Make (3.80)
- A C++ compiler (as selected by ./configure). We use gcc 3.3.4.
- Apache Ant (1.6.2)
- SWIG (1.3.24) if you want to rebuild the generated sources (see Installation).
Enhancements:
- First version with beta-status.
- New hand-tailored mapping for int[] and double[], such that the C++ code works directly on the Java-datastructures. No noticeable overhead compared to using SWIG-wrappers for standard C++ arrays.
- Planned functionality for first production release implemented.
- Test suite has reached comprehensive code coverage.

nfsstats.pl 0.1
nfsstats.pl is a Net-SNMP sub-agent that parses. more>>
nfsstats.pl is a Net-SNMP sub-agent that parses /proc/net/rpc/nfs and /proc/net/rpc/nfsd to obtain NFS statistics (just like nfsstat), and reports these as SNMP values.
nfsstats.pl is useful for remotely monitoring NFS client or server usage via SNMP to utilities like MRTG, Cacti, or Ganglia.
Installation:
Installation instructsion are contained in the form of comments at the top of nfsstats.pl script. nfsstats.pl is only suitable for Linux. NFS version 3 statistics are made available.
Firstly, ensure you have a working Net-SNMP install. Secondly, ensure you have the Perl sub-components of Net-SNMP installed (in Fedora Core, do yum install net-snmp-perl). Thirdly, save nfsstats.pl to /var/net-snmp/. Add the following line to /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf: master agentx. Start nfsstats.pl in the way of your choice, logged to file of your choice (eg 2>/dev/null). Note that nfsstats.pl must be started as root.
If your snmpd is built with embedded Perl support (Fedora Core doesnt), then you can import the sub agent directly into the snmpd. See the script for more details.
Usage:
After you have successfully installed nfsstats.pl, you should be able to walk the provided OIDs: snmpwalk -v 2c -c public localhost enterprises.6789.6789 or snmpwalk -v 2c -c public localhost .1.3.6.1.4.1.6789.6789. As we have no MIB for nfsstats.pl yet, the numbers coming back wont make much sense. However, they should bear a striking resemblance to the output of /usr/sbin/nfsstat!
The list below is all the 114 statistics that nfsstats.pl can provide for SNMP values. The ones you should monitor (eg using MRTG) are entirely up to you.

<<lessnfsstats.pl is useful for remotely monitoring NFS client or server usage via SNMP to utilities like MRTG, Cacti, or Ganglia.

Apache::AxKit::Language::SAXMachines 1.6.2
Apache::AxKit::Language::SAXMachines is a Perl module that can transform Content With SAX Filters. more>>
Apache::AxKit::Language::SAXMachines is a Perl module that can transform Content With SAX Filters.
SYNOPSIS
# add the style processor mapping
AxAddStyleMap application/x-saxmachines Apache::AxKit::Language::SAXMachines
# add the processor
AxAddProcessor application/x-saxmachines .
# create a simple filter chain
PerlSetVar AxSAXMachineFilters "XML::Filter1 XML::Filter2"
# filter set-up via a controller class
PerlSetVar AxSAXMachineClass "Custom::MachineBuilderClass"
Language::SAXMachines provides an easy way ( via Barrie Slaymakers XML::SAX::Machines ) to use SAX filter chains to transform XML content.
It is not technically a "language" in the same sense that XSP, XPathScript, or XSLT are since there is no stylesheet to write or process. Instead, the SAX filters are added via config directives in your .htaccess or *.conf file.
( Note, future versions may add an associated XML application grammar that may be used to define/configure the filter chain, but rushing forward to that is Truly Bad Idea(tm) for a number of reasons ).
The configuration directives that are required or recognized by Language::SAXMachines are detailed below.
