The most full-featured Internet power tool on the market, Opera includes pop-up blocking, tabbed browsing, integrated searches, E-mail, RSS Newsfeeds and IRC chat. Opera supports all major Linux distributions. RedHat, SuSE, Mandrake, Debian, etc. Intel, PowerPC and Sparc versions.

Unimaginatively-named Calendar 3.7.0
Unimaginatively-named Calendar produces useful, printable calendars on a Web site. more>>
Unimaginatively-named Calendar project began out of frustration with other web-based calendar tools inability to display a readable calendar format. Unimaginatively-named Calendar was very much a project to "scratch an itch" -- to meet an immediate need that the author had. Since then, it has evolved considerably into a very useful tool that produces prettier calendars than those printed by most organizer software.
The first version of this software was written in ASP (VBScript) and ran on IIS 4.0 or higher with a database on SQL Server 7.0 or higher. It has since been completely rewritten in Java to run on Tomcat 5.5 or higher with a database on MySQL 3.3 or higher. The feature set is largely the same, though the two versions have no code in common.
Main features:
- The entire calendar is rendered in HTML -- no Flash or Java is used.
- Single-day, multi-day and occassional events are all supported. "Occasional" events are those events that occur multiple times but dont necessarily follow a regular pattern.
- Repeating events are supported and can repeat on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis.
- Events may be categorized for easy administration.
- Nearly everything about the display is themable -- colors, fonts, border styles, first day of the week, weekday column widths, categories, etc.
- A calendar may be setup as a "private" calendar, so the user must be logged in to see it.
- Apple iCal and Mozilla Sunbird users can subscribe to the calendar with one click.
- NEW! The admin tool is password protected!

Katalog 0.4
Katalog is a CD organizer integrated in konqueror. more>>
Katalog is a CD organizer for the KDE.
If you have many CD and tons of downloaded files, but you arent able to remember where you put a file when you need it, then Katalog may help you. With this application you can scan a CD and store all the data about each file in a tree structured catalog.
You can add as many catalogs as you like. Searching through the catalogs its easy and fast. The folder to search can be on your drive or on a removable media, such a CD, ZIP or floppy. Katalog saves data in a XML file, compressed on the fly using gzip.
I start to write this application trying to port the excellent KDE 1.x application kdiskcat to KDE 3.x, but the part of the KDE API involved is changed radically so I start to write Katalog from scratch.
In the first revision of the application I tried to mimic the graphic interface and the features of kdiskcat. Soon I found two better alternatives of Katalog: gtktalog and CdCat, So I changed my plans and I write a brand-new Katalog fully integrated in KDE.

SmartTagFix 0.1
SmartTagFix is a simple utility that fills in missing ID3 tags for all MP3s within a directory structure. more>>
SmartTagFix is a simple utility that fills in missing ID3 tags for all MP3s within a directory structure. It uses the file name, directory name, and a bit of "common sense" to guess the correct labels.
Most MP3 players depend on the id3 tag to categorise the song. However when you download music from the internet half the time the tag information is missing, or incomplete. On top of that the files are named in a variaty of different standards, for example:
Massive Attack-Mezzanine/02-Risingson.met
08 - Young Americans - Best of Bowie - David Bowie.mp3
King Afrika-La Bomba.mp3
There are many great MP3 organisers available, which can generate tag data from the file name, however they can only bulk update if your files are named consistantly. For the above case youd have to enter the tag data manually (and Im sure you can think of better ways to spend your free time!)
SmartTagFix uses both the wxWidgets and id3lib open source libraries. Firstly, you will need to download the wxWidgets souce http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wxwindows/wxGTK-2.4.2.tar.gz) and build and install it (you will need the GTK 1.2 development libraries and include files, read the installation instructions included with wxGTK for full details) Then you need to download and install id3lib (http://id3lib.sourceforge.net/), (either build the source or (easier) download the RPM). Check where you installed id3lib.la (by doing $locate id3lib.la). If its not in /usr/local/lib then you will need to modify tagfix/src/makefile.am to point to the correct location
To build the program use:
./configure
make
su
make install
ldconfig
exit
